Data-driven finite-time adaptive attitude tracking control for spacecraft

This paper proposes a novel data-driven finite-time adaptive control method for the spacecraft attitude tracking control problem with inertial uncertainty. Based on the dynamic regression extension technique, the disturbance unit matrix is introduced, and the parameter estimation law in the form of algebraic equations is presented, which realizes the arbitrarily small convergence of parameter estimation error. The convergence of parameter estimation errors is verified through stability analysis. Globally non-singular fast terminal sliding mode control is designed to achieve finite-time arrival of the sliding surface and convergence of the system state error. The stability analysis of the closed-loop system demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method. Furthermore, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method are verified through numerical simulations of spacecraft attitude tracking control. © 2025 COSPAR

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere and deep thanks to our Editor-in-Chief, Professor Meng Chu Zhou, who took over my position after I was drafted for rejuvenating IEEE Transactions on Computational Social systems in 2017. During the past five years, Meng Chu’s professional leadership and dedication has transformed IEEE/CAA Journal of Automatica Sinica(JAS) from its infancy to a young and high-impact publication in the world that is full of vitality and actively engaged by a group of talented and charged associate Ei Cs and editors, which is clearly demonstrated in Meng Chu’s farewell editorial [1]. I am very glad that Professor Qing-Long Han, an influential and leading scientist of the world-class in AI, control, automation, and intelligent science and technology from Australia, as well as a staunch supporter and great leader of this journal from its beginning, will take over the Ei C torch from Meng Chu next year, since I am extremely confident that our journal will reach a new high for its service and quality under his new leadership.

Stabilization of Perturbed Continuous-Time systems Using Event-Triggered Model Predictive control

In this article, event-triggered model predictive control (EMPC) of continuous-time nonlinear systems with bounded disturbances is studied. Two novel event-triggered control schemes are proposed. In the first strategy, an event-triggering condition, designed based on the state error between the actual system state and the optimal one, with an absolute threshold is considered. In the second strategy, an event-triggering condition with a mixed threshold is designed to further save the computational resources. The minimal interevent times of both event-triggered control schemes are obtained to avoid the Zeno behavior. Sufficient conditions of recursive feasibility for these two triggering strategies, which refer to the prediction horizon, the triggering level, and the disturbance bound, are obtained, respectively. Input-to-state practical stability (ISpS) of both event-triggered control systems is established without requiring the system state entering the terminal set in finite time, respectively. Finally, the numerical simulation shows the effectiveness of the proposed methods. © 2013 IEEE.

Conservative-Progressive Collaborative Learning for Semi-Supervised Semantic Segmentation

Pseudo supervision is regarded as the core idea in semi-supervised learning for semantic segmentation, and there is always a tradeoff between utilizing only the high-quality pseudo labels and leveraging all the pseudo labels. Addressing that, we propose a novel learning approach, called Conservative-Progressive Collaborative Learning (CPCL), among which two predictive networks are trained in parallel, and the pseudo supervision is implemented based on both the agreement and disagreement of the two predictions. One network seeks common ground via intersection supervision and is supervised by the high-quality labels to ensure a more reliable supervision, while the other network reserves differences via union supervision and is supervised by all the pseudo labels to keep exploring with curiosity. Thus, the collaboration of conservative evolution and progressive exploration can be achieved. To reduce the influences of the suspicious pseudo labels, the loss is dynamic re-weighted according to the prediction confidence. Extensive experiments demonstrate that CPCL achieves state-of-the-art performance for semi-supervised semantic segmentation. © 1992-2012 IEEE.

Model-predictive control is emerging as an advanced control strategy for its feature that the state variables can be predicted according to the math model of the control system. In the PMSM drive application, conventional model-predictive control strategy induces current ripple due to the fact that the optimal voltage vector always acts on the system for the whole control period. In order to restrain the current ripple, the idea of duty cycle control is taken into MPC by inserting a zero vector into the optimal non-zero vector and regulating the duty cycle of non-zero vector. In this paper, the optimal duty cycle FSC-MPC strategy based on two different principles is investigated. Principle A is that the estimation is equal to the reference at the end of control cycle, and principle B is that the area under trace of the estimation is equal to that of reference. The calculation of duty based on the two different principles and the flow chart of the strategy are introduced in detail. Finally, the effectiveness of the optimal duty cycle FSC-MPC is firstly verified by the simulation, and then verified by the experimental results, which is implemented on the PMSM driver of the DQ-1 satellite payload. © 2023, Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Candidate bacterial phylum CSP1-3 has not been cultivated and is poorly understood. Here, we analyzed 112 CSP1-3 metagenome-assembled genomes and showed they are likely facultative anaerobes, with 3 of 5 families encoding autotrophy through the reductive glycine pathway(RGP), Wood–Ljungdahl pathway(WLP) or Calvin-Benson-Bassham(CBB), with hydrogen or sulfide as electron donors. Chemoautotrophic enrichments from hot spring sediments and fluorescence in situ hybridization revealed enrichment of six CSP1-3 genera, and both transcribed genes and DNA-stable isotope probing were consistent with proposed chemoautotrophic metabolisms. Ancestral state reconstructions showed that the ancestors of phylum CSP1-3 may have been acetogens that were autotrophic via the RGP, whereas the WLP and CBB were acquired by horizontal gene transfer. Our results reveal that CSP1-3 is a widely distributed phylum with the potential to contribute to the cycling of carbon, sulfur and nitrogen. The name Sysuimicrobiota phy. nov. is proposed.

This paper investigates the formation control problem for a multi-robotic fish system and a distributed event-triggered-based formation control framework is proposed. The framework consists of a communication topology, a distributed formation control law, and a dynamic event-triggered communication mechanism. In particular, a position-based formation control law is presented to drive the multi-robotic fish system to an anticipated configuration based on local measurements while keeping pace with a moving target. Meanwhile, a dynamic event-triggered mechanism is utilized to measure importance of the interactive information and decide the communication timing. The proposed formation control method shows its merits to greatly reduce communication consumption with a limited loss of formation control performance. Finally, simulations with quantitative comparisons are presented to verify the effectiveness of the proposed framework. This formation control framework provides a solid foundation for future marine cooperative control of the multi-robotic fish system. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
