Few-shot learning based methods can address the reliance on large-scale labeled samples in current breast tumor segmentation. However, previous methods typically rely on a few support samples to extract abstract, coarse-grained semantic prototypes, without considering the interaction between support and query data. In this study, we aim to provide each query image with relevant and information-rich support information. By integrating the difficult point selection module and the multi-scale cyclical prototype refinement module, we progressively refine coarse-grained support prototypes into more informative, fine-grained class prototypes, thereby better matching the highly variable breast ultrasound query data. Experiments on two datasets demonstrate that our proposed multi-scale cyclical similarity prototype refinement network (CSPRNet) achieves remarkable improvements compared to previous state-of-the-art methods. Specifically, using ResNet50 as the backbone, we achieve 57.93%/57.92% and 57.58%/59.24% mIoU for 1-shot and 5-shot segmentation, respectively, on public and private datasets, outperforming the suboptimal method by 8.18%/2.55% and 2.77%/4.48%. © 2024 IEEE.

Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a kind of ocular complication of diabetes, and its degree grade is an essential basis for early diagnosis of patients. Manual diagnosis is a long and expensive process with a specific risk of misdiagnosis. Computer-aided diagnosis can provide more accurate and practical treatment recommendations. In this paper, we propose a multi-view joint learning DR diagnostic model called RT2Net, which integrates the global features of fundus images and the local detailed features of vascular images to reduce the limitations of single fundus image learning. Firstly, the original image is preprocessed using operations such as contrast-limited adaptive histogram equalization, and the vascular structure of the extracted DR image is segmented. Then, the vascular image and fundus image are input into two branch networks of RT2Net for feature extraction, respectively, and the feature fusion module adaptively fuses the feature vectors’ output from the branch networks. Finally, the optimized classification model is used to identify the five categories of DR. This paper conducts extensive experiments on the public datasets EyePACS and APTOS 2019 to demonstrate the method's effectiveness. The accuracy of RT2Net on the two datasets reaches 88.2% and 85.4%, and the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) is 0.98 and 0.96, respectively. The excellent classification ability of RT2Net for DR can significantly help patients detect and treat lesions early and provide doctors with a more reliable diagnosis basis, which has significant clinical value for diagnosing DR. © 2024 The Authors

In the image restoration task, how to make full use of spatial and channel feature information to improve the reconstruction quality of the model without significantly increasing the computational complexity is an important research issue. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a CS module (Channel Compression and Split-Attention) specifically for optimizing image denoising tasks. The module first compresses the features through a preliminary convolution operation, then introduces the split attention convolution mechanism to split the features by channel and dynamically weight them, thereby enhancing the model's adaptive attention to different feature channels and improving feature expression capabilities. Through experiments on multiple image denoising datasets, the results show that the CS module significantly improves the image reconstruction quality, especially in terms of peak signal-to-noise ratio (PSNR). At the same time, the introduction of the CS module does not lead to a significant increase in computational complexity, maintaining a high computational efficiency, which verifies the practicality and superiority of the module in image denoising tasks. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper considers the problem of maintaining the long-term fairness of item exposure in interactive recommendation systems under the dynamic setting that user preference and item popularity evolve over time. The challenge is that the evolving dynamics of user preference and item popularity in the feedback loop amplify the long-term 'unfairness' of item exposure. To address this challenge, we first formulate a constrained Markov Decision Process (MDP) to capture evolving dynamics of user preference. The proposed constrained MDP imposes long-term fairness requirements via maximum entropy techniques. Moreover, to illuminate the 'unfairness' amplifying effect caused by the evolving dynamic of item popularity in the feedback loop, we design a debiased reward function to eliminate popularity bias in the training data. To this end, the proposed framework can maintain acceptable recommendation accuracy while exposing items as randomly as possible, ensuring long-term benefits for users. Experiments on three datasets demonstrate the effectiveness and superiority of our proposed framework in terms of recommendation performance and fairness. © 2023 IEEE.

Smart contracts are programs that run on a blockchain, where Ethereum is one of the most popular ones supporting them. Due to the fact that they are immutable, it is essential to design smart contracts bug-free before they are deployed. However, various defects have been found in the deployed smart contracts, causing huge economic losses and lowing people's trust. Writing secure smart contracts is far from trivial, where developers tend to engage in reliable resources or social coding platforms to reuse code. This leads to a large number of similar contracts with potential security risks. Therefore, detecting similarity of smart contracts helps to avoid vulnerabilities, identify threats, and improve the security of Ethereum. In this paper, we design a learning-effective and cost-efficient model, called SmartSD, for Ethereum smart contract similarity detection. Different from the current research efforts, SmartSD is performed on a bytecode level and leverages deep neural networks to learn the latent representations from the opcode sequences for smart contract bytecodes, where the representation learning and similarity measurement are supervised via siamese neural networks. The experimental evaluations demonstrate that SmartSD outperforms EClone's 93.27% accuracy, achieving 98.37% high detection accuracy and 0.9850 F1-score, which is computationally tractable and effectively mitigates the interference caused by compilers. © 2022 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. Sketch-less facial image retrieval (SLFIR) framework aims to break the barriers that drawing a high-quality facial sketch requires excellent skills and substantial time, it performs the retrieval using a partial sketch with as few strokes as possible. However, such early-stage sketches often contain only local details, resulting in poor retrieval performance. In this study, we propose learning of the representation by fusing the sketches with prior human semantic knowledge to improve the early retrieval performance. Specifically, (1) based on the LAION-Face dataset, a facial language-image pretraining (FLIP) model is constructed to learn the aligned representations of facial image and text; (2) subsequently, using FLIP as the backbone, multiscale features of sketch and text are extracted and fused to learn the efficient representation for the final retrieval. The proposed method achieves state-of-the-art early retrieval performance on all two public datasets and exhibits a good generalization ability in practical testing.

Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) are popular for a variety of graph learning tasks. ReRAM-based processing-in-memory (PIM) accelerators are promising to expedite GCN training owing to their in-situ computing capability. However, existing accelerators can be severely underutilized even with pipelines, due to the oversight of the skewed execution times of various GCN stages and the ignorance of skewed degrees of graph vertices. In this work, we propose GOPIM, a GCN-oriented pipeline optimization for PIM accelerators to expedite GCN training. First, GOPIM proposes an ML-based scheme that allocates crossbar resources to the most needed stages to streamline the overall pipeline. Second, GOPIM utilizes a selective vertex updating technique that evenly distributes vertices on crossbars by interleaved mapping. These techniques collectively reduce the overall execution time without losing much accuracy. We also provide a practical architecture design for GOPIM. Our experimental results show that, GoPIM achieves up to 191 × speedup and 16.1 × energy saving, compared to the state-of-the-art work. © 2025 IEEE.

As the material basis for all life activities, proteins play a crucial role in performing life activities. Most real-life proteins perform various functions in the form of protein complexes, so it is essential for understanding of life activities to accurately identify protein complexes. Most of the existing approaches learn protein interactions directly from protein topology,ignoring the biological characteristics of the actual proteins. Nevertheless, actual protein complexes are usually composed of protein cores and protein attachments. In this study, a new MP-DE algorithm is designed from the core-attachment structure to generate protein complex cores using Markov clustering, while searching for attached proteins in the second-order neighborhood of core protein complexes based on differential evolution(DE) algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method has high detection accuracy and efficiency on the current mainstream protein-protein interaction(PPI) database.

The identification of drug-protein interactions(DTIs) is a critical step in drug development and ***,detecting these interactions using scientific methods presents a formidable *** models often struggle to extract relevant information from drug-protein sequences,and they fail to consider pre-existing interactions between ***,we introduce a deep learning model,DPAG,based on attention mechanisms and graph neural networks,which overcomes these *** leverages information from both the drug and protein sequences,as well as the association between drug-protein pairs,to predict *** conducted multiple experiments to evaluate the performance of the model in benchmark datasets,and the results showed that DPAG achieved excellent performance in terms of AUC,AUPR,precision,and *** findings suggest that DPAG holds significant potential as a promising tool for predicting DTIs in drug development and *** is available at https://***/veres se/DPAG.

data security has always been one of the public concerns, and homomorphic encryption technology, as one of the effective means to ensure data security, has always been a hot topic of academic research. Traditional machine learning is trained in a batch environment. In practice, data owners tend to outsource data and model training tasks to third-party clouds with huge computing resources, but data outsourcing carries the risk of privacy leakage. Therefore, in order to prevent this situation, an effective method is to encrypt the data before the outsourcing, and the third-party cloud trains the machine model of the ciphertext data. This method has special requirements for encryption algorithms which should support computation directly on the ciphertext data. This paper presents a novel data flow computing privacy protection framework based on the homomorphic encryption algorithm CKKS and the flow data processing engine Flink, called SDPPF (Streaming data Privacy Protection on Flink). The proposed framework supports the functions of data stream encryption, decryption and ciphertext computing, and expands the functions of vector point multiplication and array sum operation on the basic simultaneous operation supported by the original CKKS algorithm. This paper also selects a classical machine learning algorithm: KNN algorithm, combined with the homomorphic encryption algorithm CKKS to realize the privacy protection machine learning algorithm. © 2023 SPIE.
