Fluorescence X-rays have the advantages of good monochromaticity, high flux and stable dose rate. Carried out simulation and experimental studies of fluorescence X-rays in the (4.5 ~ 25.3) KeV energy range. The energy spectra produced by different radiators were simulated using Monte Carlo simulation software to obtain the theoretical spectra. The Kp and L fluorescence X-rays were also filtered in the simulation by choosing different materials of secondary filter materials for each radiator. Measurement experiments were carried out using a HPGe detector to obtain experimental spectra. The simulation results match the experimental results, verifying the correctness of the experimental measurements. The fluorescence yield and Ka fluorescence purity of the radiator were calculated, in which the fluorescence yield of Zn reached percent 95.2 and the purity of Ka fluorescence of Cd reached percent 82.8. The factors affecting the fluorescence yield experiment are the secondary filter corresponding to the radiator, which can be subsequently optimized in the selection of secondary filter. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.

Low-resource imbalance texts pose significant challenges due to class imbalance, adversely affecting the performance of deep learning approaches. To address this issue, we propose a dual-head alternating attention-based adaptive convolutional framework with label embedding (AltXLM-AdaCLE), a novel framework designed for imbalanced text classification in low-resourced datasets. Our framework features a new alternating attention model, which combines a dual-head attention mechanism with a bidirectional long short-term memory network, facilitating dynamic filter generation that adapts to the input data’s characteristics and enhances the capture of relevant features and long-range dependencies. A key innovation in this study is the dual-head attention mechanism, which utilizes an alternating reading sequence to extract information from multiple document segments, thereby minimizing information loss and improving the understanding of complex relationships. Furthermore, we introduce a method for embedding class labels in a shared vector space with the text, allowing the model to leverage label information throughout the classification process, which is particularly beneficial for imbalanced datasets. Our framework also incorporates an adaptive convolutional layer that processes text features and label embeddings, generating more representative features of the underlying data distribution and improving classification performance. Experimental results on six low-resourced imbalance text datasets validate the effectiveness of AltXLM-AdaCLE with an average AUC gain of 26.42%, demonstrating its superiority over existing methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag London Ltd., part of Springer Nature 2025.

Ancient glass products are often weathered to varying degrees after excavation. Detection and analysis of their chemical composition will help to study the ancient glass making process. In this paper, we take a group of ancient glass products as samples, and study the sub-classification and type identification of weathered silicate glasses. Firstly, we identify the main factor of glass weathering through chi-squared test and Fisher's exact test, then conduct a significance test on the basis of preprocessing various data of glass cultural relics. Secondly, the glass samples are classified into high potassium glass and lead barium glass by spectral clustering method, and further sub-classified into eight classes. The sub-classes are named based on feature extraction, and the clustering quality is tested by contour coefficient. Finally, we analyze the chemical composition affecting the glass types by combining the non-parametric tests to identify the types of glass cultural relics by multiple linear regression with significance testing. In addition, correlation test, spectral clustering and multiple linear regression are used to study the sub-classification and type identification of weathered silicate glasses, which provides a reference for further study of ancient glass making process and weathering process. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper proposes a seismic landslide detection method based on Transformer and RNN algorithm. This method uses seismic data and topographic data as inputs, encodes the data through the Transformer model, and then inputs the encoded data into the RNN model for classification. In the training process, we use the cross entropy loss function and Adam optimizer. To verify the effectiveness of the method, we used public data sets for experiments, and the results show that our proposed method can significantly improve the accuracy of seismic landslide detection. In addition, we interpret the results by visualization method and analyze the performance of the model under different parameters. Our method is expected to provide effective support for earthquake landslide prediction and early warning. © 2023 IEEE.

The Fission Surface Power System is a feasible solution for future lunar surface exploration energy supply, with the solid-state reactor being considered a primary candidate. This paper presents a modeling and analysis of a solid-state reactor based on publicly available information. Using the reactor Monte Carlo program RMC and the commercial finite element analysis software ANSYS, the reactor is modeled and analyzed. The power distribution of the active zone and reactivity feedback coefficients of the entire core are obtained. The result indicates a negative reactivity feedback coefficient, confirming this reactor design's inherent safety. Furthermore, a two-dimensional reactor model is constructed to obtain the temperature distribution during full-power operation, and non-passive residual heat removal analysis and radiative heat loss failure analysis are performed. At the failure condition of all heat pipes, the maximum core temperature is 742 K, which is below the reactor safety temperature limit, confirming the residual heat removal capability of the solid-state reactor in the loss of heat sink. Additionally, the self-developed transient reactor system analysis program is used for thermal safety analysis. The thermal parameters and heat transfer limits of high-temperature alkali metal heat pipes within the reactor are obtained, with the ratio of heat transfer limit to the heat load of 2.05 demonstrating sufficient safety margins of the heat pipe operation in the reactor. The results manifest that the core is satisfied with the existing criteria for anticipated operating occurrences of solid-state reactors, verifying the excellent safety performance of this reactor design. The He production rate(i.e.,He/dpa)in nuclear reactors strongly affects the degradation of material *** is an important but not yet fully understood ***,the effect of He/dpa on bubble char-acteristics in Fe9Cr1.5W0.4Si ferrite-martensitic(F/M)steel was in situ studied during 400 keV Fe^(+)and 30 keV He^(+)dual-beam irradiation at 723 K with three ratios of 100,500,and 2500 appm He/dpa and subsequent stepwise annealing using transmission electron microscopy(TEM).He/dpa strongly affected the bubble *** irradiation,the higher the He/dpa,the smaller the size of irradiated bubbles,but the higher their ***,He/dpa didn’t affect the final saturation size of irradiated bubbles for all three cases,which was-2.2 *** annealing,high He/dpa caused large,immobile,dense polyhedral bubbles with a wider bubble size distribution,while low He/dpa caused small,low-mobility,and relatively low-density spherical *** was found that the higher the He/dpa ratio,the greater the swelling during irradiation and annealing,and annealing further enhanced the ***,the tunnel structure was first found in body-centered cubic(BCC)F/M steel during in-situ *** current work provides valuable and potential insights for further understanding the He/dpa effects in materials serving in different nuclear reactors.

In order to solve the problem that the accuracy of traditional thickness gauge can not meet the requirements of today's production, a thickness gauge based on high-speed scintillator nuclear radiation detector is proposed here. With high-speed scintillator GAGG as the detector core, the thickness gauge takes advantage of GAGG's own high energy resolution and low light decay time properties, as well as the ultra-high stability and real-time performance of the detector's electronic part, and adopts high-speed parallel FPGA to sample and count the output to achieve high-precision measurement. By taking the aluminum baffle as an example, the thickness of several different thickness aluminum baffle is measured. Finally, the experimental results show that the detector has the characteristics of good stability and high accuracy. © 2025 SPIE.

Intelligent identification method of insulation pull rod defects based on intactness-aware Mosaic data augmentation and fusion of YOLOv5s

The authors introduce the intactness-aware Mosaic data augmentation strategy,designed to tackle challenges such as low accuracy in detecting defects in insulation pull rods,limited timeliness in intelligent analysis,and the absence of a comprehensive database for information on insulation pull rod *** proposed strategy incorporates the YOLOv5s algorithm for detecting defects in insulation pull ***,the YOLOv5s network was constructed,and a dataset containing photos of insulation pull rods with white spots,fractures,impurities,and bubble flaws was compiled to capture images of *** research presented a data enhancement approach to improve the images and establish a dataset for insulation pull rod *** YOLOv5s algorithm was applied for both training and testing purposes.A comparative analysis was conducted to assess the detection performance of YOLOv5s against a conventional target detector for identifying defects in insulation pull ***,the utility of Mosaic's data augmentation technique,which incorporates intactness awareness,was evaluated to enhance the accuracy of identifying insulation pull rod *** research findings indicate that the YOLOv5s algorithm is employed for intelligent detection and precise localisation of *** intactnessaware Mosaic data augmentation strategy significantly improves the accuracy of detecting faults in insulation pull *** YOLOv5s model used achieves a performance index mAP@0.5:0.95 of 0.563 on the test set,distinct from the training set *** a threshold of 0.5,the mAP@0.5 score is 0.904,indicating a substantial improvement in both detection efficiency and accuracy compared to conventional target detection *** approaches for identifying defects in insulation pull rods are introduced.

The tree direct contact line is the fault type that has the greatest impact on the power system in the tree-line contradiction. At present, most of the existing studies are aimed at the monitoring and disposal of tree-line faults, but there are few studies on the impedance characteristics of trees when tree- line faults occur. Based on the 10k V simulated test line, this paper experimentally studies the change process, development trend and change characteristics of tree impedance when trees of different types, lengths and moisture contents have tree-line faults, as well as the influence of different system capacitive currents on fault characteristics. The experiment took three different species of pine, eucalyptus and bamboo as the test objects. The results showed that the impedance characteristics of the three different species of trees during tree line contact discharge were different, among which pine and eucalyptus had larger impedance and bamboo had smaller impedance. And the correlation between tree length and tree impedance is not strong. Under the premise of the same tree species, the impedance of the part with high moisture content is small, and the impedance of the part with low moisture content is large. In the time range of 0 20s, the impedance of trees decreases with the increase of discharge time. © 2023 IEEE.

As biomechanics research evolves, the significance of motion capture technology in domains like film and television, gaming, and motion training is progressively gaining prominence, with an expanding repertoire of applications. Optical motion capture, employing optical dynamic capture equipment founded on a 3D imaging analysis system within a specified setting, stands as the most mature technique. However, its high cost and constraints pertaining to venue and environmental factors limit its usage. Conversely, inertial motion capture devices, functional under non-optical conditions, can cater to the needs of the broader public. To further enhance affordability, portability, and simplification of the device, this study proposes an embedded system design grounded on a nine-axis inertial sensor. It captures the posture of each joint in the human upper limb and wirelessly transmits the data to the Unreal Engine 3D arm model for action replication and motion trajectory delineation. Thus, it generates feedback results facilitating remote motion control. © 2023 SPIE.
