A new finger-vein image matching method based on structure feature is proposed in this paper. To describe the finger-vein structures conveniently, the vein skeletons are firstly extracted and used as the primitive information. Based on the skeletons, a curve tracing scheme depended on junction points is proposed for curve segment extraction. Next, the curve segments are encoded piecewise using a modified included angle chain, and the structure feature code of a vein network are generated sequentially. Finally, a dynamic scheme is adopted for structure feature matching. Experimental results show that the proposed method perform well in improving finger-vein matching accuracy.

For personal identification, the biometric systems based on finger-vein pattern have been successfully used in many applications. The concern for the system efficiency over a large database should not be negligible in the real situation. So, categorizing the finger-vein images to different classes is helpful for reducing pattern matching cost. In this paper, we propose a level-based framework for roughly and automatically categorizing finger-vein images. The proposed level-based framework consists of two layers in classifying finger-vein images. In this framework, the imaging qualities and the image contents are respectively used for the first layer and second layer image feature representation. And the k-means algorithm is adopted for automatic finger-vein image clustering. Using SVM scheme, we can achieve 99% CCR (correct classification rate) over a large image database. Finally, for comparison, the POC (Phase-Only-Correction) matching algorithm is used. Experimental results show that the proposed method has a good performance in the improving recognition efficiency as well as recognition accuracy.

Distance measuring equipment (DME) is important ground based navigation system for implementation of area navigation (RNAV), and its positioning accuracy is directly related to geometric dilution of precision (GDOP). For the distribution of three DME beacons, this paper establishes the GDOP algorithm model based on DME/DME RNAV, the GDOP calculation is deduced, and the relation between GDOP and DME ground station distribution is given. The affection of the geometric configuration and the baseline length of DME stations, and of the aircraft height on GDOP values are studied and simulated by MATlab. The optimal methods of DME beacon distribution for DME/DME RNAV are proposed in this paper, and all these results will provide theoretical guidance for implementation of DME/DME RNAV in China.

Finger-vein recognition has been a hot topic in biometrics community. However, finger-vein images are always poor in quality. This is very unhelpful for finger-vein feature analysis in practice. Considering the light propagation behavior in biological tissue and the variations of veins in orientation and diameter, in this paper, we propose an effective finger-vein image enhancement method based on scattering removal and a bank of even Gabor filters. The experimental results show that the proposed method has a good performance in venous region enhancement and can improve the finger-vein recognition accuracy significantly.

The optical characteristics of the biological tissue varies with the spectral of near infrared light, so the multi-spectral finger-vein images will present some different tissue information compared with the single-spectral finger-vein images. Therefore, the fusion of multispectral finger-vein image will be more beneficial for finger-vein recognition. In this paper, we propose a pixel-level based fusion method which utilizes an improved regional energy fusion strategy for implementing multispectral finger-vein fusion. The proposed fusion method takes the regional energy in a 3*3 sliding window as fusion intensity, and for dealing with the redundant information in some bands, the optimal band combination is adopted in fusion process. Moreover, the proposed strategy only cost a few milliseconds in computing, which can meet the real-time requirement. Finally, experimental results show that the proposed method achieves an excellent fusion of finger-vein multispectral information and provides more accuracy in finger-vein recognition.

The new algorithm reconstructs interference subspace by additional discrete sources of interferences, which could broaden the width of nulls and adapt to the rapid change of the interference directions in the high dynamic environment. As a source of clean energy, wind power has attracted great interests around the world. Recent research reveals that wind farms have serious impacts on air traffic control (ATC) radars, which may threaten flight safety in aviation. The most likely impact of wind farm on ATC radars is the echo from the wind farm may appear on the radar displays, which will mislead the air traffic controller and might result in tragedies. Consequently, it attracts much attention on how to suppress the wind farm clutter. For the listed reasons above, a method of wind farm clutter recognition and suppression is proposed in this paper. The proposed method utilized the periodicity of the radar scan and the stability of the wind farm location to create the dynamic clutter map, which was employed to recognize and suppress the wind farm clutter thereafter. Effectiveness of the new method is verified via simulation experiments.

The signal multipath effect is one of the main reasons which lead to positioning error in the Global Positioning System (GPS). Although the differential technology can improve the positioning accuracy, the differential GPS system still can’t eliminate the positioning error caused by multipath signals, the reference stations and users being in different geographical environment. In the light of the GPS multipath signal model, this paper presents a GPS time delay estimation algorithm based on signal separation estimation theory. Firstly, Doppler frequency is estimated when the signal delay is unknown. Then, we use the estimated Doppler frequency to get signal delay information with signal separation estimation theory. In addition, we consider the previous estimated results as the initial value and a two-dimension optimization method is implemented in a small range for further improving the estimation accuracy. It can be shown from the simulation results that this method which is able to effectively eliminate the multipath has a better performance compared with the conventional method and narrow correlator spacing algorithm.

In this paper, two common encounter geometries of aircrafts in terminal area are discussed. Probabilistic modes for aircraft motions are developed based on three-dimensional Brownian motion. The two common encounter geometries can be expressed in the same formula. After the non-orthogonal and orthogonal transformations, three-dimensional Brownian motion is standardized and the formula is simplified to derive the analytical solution. The conflict probability is equal to the probability that a standard three-dimensional Brownian motion hits a time-varying region. An approximation algorithm is given based on Bachelier-Levy theorem to get the analytical expression of conflict probability.

On the basis of theory for Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) of signal statistical characteristics and Dynamic Multi-scale System (DMS) of the state transition model, a novel algorithm for multi-scale fusion and estimation with multi-resolution sensors is derived. In order to construct a uniform resolution model of Kalman Filter, the equations of state and measurement are processed with DWT at different resolution levels, and then the measurements of the same resolution level are fused and filtered. Experimental results indicate that the proposed method is more effective than other existing algorithms.
