Despite numerous efforts on blur measurement of partially blurred images, there still lacks an effective blur measure that is both pixel-wise and locally sharp consistent. The paper proposes a novel method with two contributions to overcome this limitation: 1) A new pixel-based blur metric, Multi-resolution Singular Value (MSV), which leverages the average singular value of high frequency bands to measure the blur of each pixel, and 2) a locally continuous strategy, maximum-likelihood estimation (MLE) based refinement, that ensures local continuity by imposing the local sharp consistency on pixel blur in a local correcting process. Experimental results show that our method is effective to smoothly measure the partially blurred images without local discontinuity.

An adaptive strategy was proposed for EH system. Modules of attack detection, feedback transmission and adaptive control were added to original EH system. They could help to make threats analysis and adjust hopping strategy in real time, so as to reduce the probability of the system stepping into the attackers' target area. With the experiments proving the anti-attack ability of the prototype system, the feasibility and effectiveness of adaptive strategy were demonstrated for EH system.

The understanding of cooperative behavior in social systems has been the subject of intense research over the past decades. In this regard, the theoretical models used to explain cooperation in human societies have been complemented with a growing interest in experimental studies to validate the proposed mechanisms. In this work, we rely on previous experimental findings to build a theoretical model based on two cooperation driving mechanisms: second-order reputation and memory. Specifically, taking the Donation Game as a starting point, the agents are distributed among three strategies, namely Unconditional Cooperators, Unconditional Defectors, and Discriminators, where the latter follow a second-order assessment rule: Shunning, Stern Judging, Image Scoring, or Simple Standing. A discriminator will cooperate if the evaluation of the recipient’s last actions contained in his memory is above a threshold of (in)tolerance. In addition to the dynamics inherent to the game, another imitation dynamics, involving much longer times (generations), is introduced. The model is approached through a mean-field approximation that predicts the macroscopic behavior observed in Monte Carlo simulations. We found that, while in most second-order assessment rules, intolerance hinders cooperation, it has the opposite (positive) effect under the Simple Standing rule. Furthermore, we show that, when considering memory, the Stern Judging rule shows the lowest values of cooperation, while stricter rules show higher cooperation levels. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Epilepsy is a brain disorder caused by abnormal discharges of neurons in brain. It is one of the most commonly studied disorders in neurology. The research of epilepsy electroencephalogram (EEG) has become a hot research topic. We find that in epilepsy EEG detection task, many previous methods focused on directly collecting the data of each channel, but these methods seldom analyse relationships between signals. Therefore, we propose the Epilepsy EEG Graph Convolutional Network EGCN, which makes full use of correlations between channels to deeply mine data information. We specifically design 5-layer graph convolutional network structure for classification of healthy and epileptic patients. The method is applied to public data set (Boon and CHB-MIT) to establish a reasonable classification model. And we compare it with some advanced algorithms. The experimental results show that the E-GCN method is superior to many existing methods in classification accuracy. In brief, the E-GCN method can be effectively used in classification and detection for epilepsy. This provides new ideas for colleagues, who study epilepsy EEG. In addition, this also provides richer experience for diagnosis of epilepsy.

Visual tracking is a fundamental capability for robots tasked with humans and environment interaction. However, state-of-the-art visual tracking methods are still prone to failures and are imprecise when applied to challenging stereos, and their results are generally confidence agonistic. These methods depend on an embedded deep learning model to provide deterministic features or regression maps. A deterministic output with low confidence can result in disastrous consequences and lacks evidence needed for subsequent operations. Moreover, training data ambiguities or noise in the observations (so-called data uncertainty) can also lead to inherent uncertainty. In this paper, we focus on exploiting probabilistic Siamese visual tracking with a conditional variational autoencoder (CVAE). First, we build a bridge between the Siamese architecture and the CVAE and propose a novel Bayesian visual tracking method. Second, the proposed method generates a complete probability distribution that enables the production of multiple plausible tracking outputs. Third, CVAE conditioned by ground truth data encodes a low-dimensional latent space and conducts noise-injection training to prevent overfitting. Our proposed tracking method outperformed the state-of-the-art trackers on the VOT2016, VOT2018 and TColor-128 datasets.

With the fast development of 3D imaginations becomes more and more fascination, multi-view stereo based 3D reconstruction is a significant technique for those application. To facilitate the subsequent processing of 3D reconstruction and reduce the possibility of other algorithms falling into local optimal solutions, attempting to get better and faster performance, a new parallax calculation based on symmetric continuous optimization is proposed in this paper. The algorithm is proposed here will be tested respectively in the same data, in order to certificate the algorithm applied is better than traditional minimize El algorithm.

Semi-supervised classification method of SAR images using spectral clustering in contourlet domain

A new based on Semi-supervised classification theory for SAR images in contourlet domain is proposed, in this paper. Attempting to get better and faster performance, the PSO algorithm (Particle swarm optimization algorithm) and contourlet domain is proposed to instead of traditional k-means algorithm. PSO is used to find the global optimum by performing a global search in the whole solution space. And then, contourlet is applied in front of construct the similarity matrix to extract more effective eigenvalues. In section five, the proposed algorithm got better classification results than the traditional k-means algorithm which is proved by experimental results show that in terms of running time, classification accuracy and Kappa coefficient.

Sarcasm, sentiment, and emotion are three typical kinds of spontaneous affective responses of humans to external events and they are tightly intertwined with each other. Such events may be expressed in multiple modalities (e.g., linguistic, visual and acoustic), e.g., multi-modal conversations. Joint analysis of humans’ multi-modal sarcasm, sentiment, and emotion is an important yet challenging topic, as it is a complex cognitive process involving both cross-modality interaction and cross-affection correlation. From the probability theory perspective, cross-affection correlation also means that the judgments on sarcasm, sentiment, and emotion are incompatible. However, this exposed phenomenon cannot be sufficiently modelled by classical probability theory due to its assumption of compatibility. Neither do the existing approaches take it into consideration. In view of the recent success of quantum probability (QP) in modeling human cognition, particularly contextual incompatible decision making, we take the first step towards introducing QP into joint multi-modal sarcasm, sentiment, and emotion analysis. Specifically, we propose a QUantum probabIlity driven multi-modal sarcasm, sEntiment and emoTion analysis framework, termed QUIET. Extensive experiments on two datasets and the results show that the effectiveness and advantages of QUIET in comparison with a wide range of the state-of-the-art baselines.
