Planetary gearboxes (PGs) are the core transmission components of complex rotating machinery. The diverse forms of internal gear faults often complicate diagnosis and maintenance work. To improve the fault diagnosis accuracy of PGs, this paper proposes a method for diagnosing PG faults based on deep autoencoders (DAE) and convolutional neural networks (CNN). The method fully utilizes the deep learning capability of DAE and combines it with the precise recognition ability of CNN for fault features. Through precise learning in the encoding layer, it achieves deep dimensionality reduction of fault features and further learns these features after dimensionality reduction by CNN. Compared to traditional CNN, the method reduces the computation parameters and resource consumption, resulting in higher precision intelligent fault diagnosis. Experimental results demonstrate that DAE-CNN exhibits stronger fault diagnosis ability than traditional networks. © 2023 IEEE.

Based on the construction requirements of the "Emerging Engineering"major in intelligent manufacturing engineering and the characteristics of interdisciplinary integration, the cultivation of high-quality interdisciplinary talents has been established as the primary objective. By coordinating multiple on-campus and off-campus resources and fostering cohesion within the entire discipline supervisor team, the "academic supervisor system"training mode has been established, and the continuous training mechanism for "undergraduate and master's"programs has been effectively developed. Additionally, school-enterprise collaborations have been implemented, and practical bases have been successfully established. With the support of the entire discipline supervisor team and the closed-loop integrated laboratory, the practical teaching system characterized by cross-integration and systematic progression has been developed at our university. By creating a step-by-step, planned, and systematic practical course system, the issues of standardization, randomization, and fragmentation within practical courses have been effectively resolved. Through the integration of project-based courses and school-enterprise co-constructed courses, students' innovative abilities are further enhanced. It then describes the design and implementation methods of major design, and analyzes its practical effects. It holds significant reference and demonstrative value for the construction of practical courses, laboratories, and the talent cultivation model of the "Emerging Engineering"major. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The capsule robot enters the patient's intestinal system directly by swallowing and takes continuous images using the miniature camera unit it carries, but during its travel, its own gravity and the peristaltic movement of the intestine make the physician limited in obtaining images of the intestine and making a diagnosis. In order to solve this problem, a capsule endoscope with an embedded leg mechanism is proposed. Compared to commercially available capsule robot. This capsule robot can easily move through the intestine autonomously by means of the relationship between the leg, the screw nut and the linkage, enabling forward, backward and stationary functions. The capsule robot has a diameter of 14 mm, a length of 30 mm and a maximum diameter of 26.66 mm with the legs spread out. The hollow space is allocated to include basic endoscopic components such as a miniature camera and a rotating motor. A series of tests, including in vitro tests, were carried out to test the feasibility of the leg mechanism of this capsule robot. Based on the results of the experiments, the proposed leg mechanism can effectively act on the Micro-capsule endoscope, and is able to move effectively through the intestine. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, the virtual reality technique has been widely used in many fields. One of the most popular applications is for generating virtual models that can be operated on the screen. In the paper, three methods of obtaining virtual models are introduced. One method is by scanning the quick response code. Another method is the use of CADbro software. The third way is to develop an app to help the digital world emerge in real-life scenarios. With the help of virtual technology, ways of teaching, modes of production, and film production are changing. The three methods mentioned in the paper make it easy to generate virtual models for people to operate on mobile devices. Virtual models generated by the three methods can be operated by touching the screen or operating the mouse, whenever and wherever. © 2024 The Authors.

Existing neurosurgical robots are prone to interfering with each other in a narrow operating space due to the overlapping of several arms, which poses a great safety risk during surgery. In this paper, a 7-DOF dual-arm robot is designed to cooperate with the surgeon to complete craniotomy by manipulating the master hand mechanism. Aiming at the pain point that two real-time dynamic slave hands are prone to interference, this paper establishes a simplified model of the robot envelope, and transforms the interference detection problem between the robots into the interference checking of geometric primitives. If the interference between the two arms is detected by the algorithm, the surgical path of the current robotic arm is immediately terminated to ensure the safety of the surgery. Finally, the algorithm is simulated and verified with the robot designed in this paper. The results show that the algorithm is feasible and has high computational efficiency. © 2024 The Authors.

To enhance the safety and longevity of large ships, employing high-pressure water jet technology for rust removal is crucial in this article, the qualitative relationship among the key parameters of high-pressure water jet rust removal is analyzed theoretically. Secondly, the flow field simulation is carried out using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software to verify the relationship among the key parameters. Finally, the influence of different nozzle length-diameter ratios on jet characteristics is analyzed. The simulation results show that the nozzle end length is 0 mm and the nozzle diameter is 1mm for the straight-cone convergent nozzle with a shrinking angle of 30° when the diameter of the length-diameter ratio remains unchanged and the length of the nozzle end is changed. Simultaneously, the highest values are observed for the nozzle exit velocity and the impact force on the target surface. The impact range of target shear force takes the maximum value when the length-diameter ratio is 1. Further, by changing the length of the nozzle-end and the nozzle diameter in the length-diameter ratio, the influence on the jet characteristics can be concluded that the nozzle diameter has a greater influence on the nozzle exit velocity than the nozzle-end length. On this basis, the optimized nozzle parameters can be obtained i.e., the nozzle-end length is 1 mm and the nozzle diameter is 1 mm, such that the effective striking area of the jet is the largest and the striking effect is the best. © 2024 Institute of Physics Publishing. Cloud detection can address data quality and analytical accuracy issues caused by cloud cover in satellite imagery, significantly enhancing image usability. Existing cloud detection methods still have the problem of detecting a certain amount of ground and sea surface as clouds, as well as some cloud regions that are missed, resulting in a decrease in the accuracy of cloud detection. Aiming at the above problems, an interactive cloud detection method based on Dynamic Mode Decomposition is proposed. Based on the fact that clouds are constantly moving, the dynamic mode decomposition can be utilized to detect the characteristics of moving objects, and the dynamic clouds are detected, avoiding the detection of the ground and sea surface as clouds. Although static clouds rarely appear, to ensure the robustness of the algorithm, we design an interactive static cloud detection algorithm for the users, which solve the problem of missed detection and further improves the accuracy of cloud detection. To assess the effectiveness of the algorithm, the four different types of clouds of floccus, undulatus, vortex clouds, and stratocumulus are detected, the experimental outcomes demonstrate the effectiveness and robustness of the algorithm. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). In this paper, a nonlinear energy sink (NES) is designed to suppress the vibrations of a rectangular plate, where the vibrations within a non-resonant band of the plate are mainly investigated. The selected frequency range is 9–11 Hz with a loading frequency interval of 0.5 Hz. The harmonic excitation experiments with fixed frequency are conducted within the non-resonant band to obtain its amplitude-frequency curves. The results indicate that the NES always has effective vibration absorption with the variations in NES mass and spring stiffness under low excitation accelerations. However, the rectangular plate exhibits a higher branch of response within the low-frequency range under high excitation accelerations. Metrics such as the effective value of response acceleration and the vibration level are introduced to evaluate the experimental results to analyze the vibration absorption of the NES. The study reveals that optimal performance is achieved when a non-weighted NES with a spring having a wire diameter of 1.2 mm and an external diameter of 10 mm is attached to the rectangular plate. This device yields a reduction of vibration level by 7.29 dB. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
