Power quality problems have received more and more concerns in recent years. It has become an important topic in monitoring, controlling, and managing of the power quality. In this paper, the causes of power quality problems, significance of improving the power quality, development status, analysis and control method are mainly analyzed and reviewed. This paper mainly analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various methods and techniques. With the development of new technology and equipment, the research and development in the field of power quality will have more broad prospects.

Smart distribution grid (SDG) is the focus of the future smart grid construction, it will have a profound impact on the operation of power system protection and control. In this paper, the concept and characteristics of SDG are systematically introduced, then brief introduce SDG background, significance, as well as overseas and domestic research status. The key technologies of SDG are discussed, including the distribution network self-healing control (SHC), distribution fast simulation and modeling (DFSM), advanced distribution automation (ADA), advanced metering infrastructure (AMI), active distribution network (ADN), distributed generation (DG) and smart micro grid technology. Combined with the current situation of smart distribution grid, it points the development tendency of SDG.

In order to build a strong smart grid with Chinese characteristics, the smart distribution grid issue is studied. Some present questions hindering the futuristic development of electric power distribution are proposed. The definition of smart distribution grid is given. The detailed characteristics are analysed in the paper, several functional requirements are put forward, and the development in the corresponding field is reviewed. The key technologies deployed for the realization of the smart distribution grid are explored in depth, which would give advice for the further research and implementation of distribution network intellectualization in the future. By incorporating with new technologies like Big Data and Internet of Things, SDG is prone to obtain a new opportunity to develop.

Reactive power balance plays an essential role in improving economic efficiency and grid power quality. With the rapid development of power industry, high pressure and high voltage power grid have been put into operation, quality and reliability of the electric power have become increasingly demanding, as well as the reactive power compensation equipment. STAT COM device is currently the optimal performance of the reactive power compensation devices. Static synchronous compensators (STATCOMs) are part of FACTS device lineage. Their primary aim is to provide a fast acting, precise, and adjustable quantity of reactive power to an AC power system network to which they are linked. This article will focuse on the background, significance, research status, several key technologies and development issues. STATCOM mainly involves several key technologies: inverter power electronic devices; topology structure of the main circuit.; pulse width modulation.; control strategy; reactive current detection. With the economic development, the traditional large capacity STATCOM application occasions gradually restricted and therefore, in the future development of key technologies STATCOM must constantly improve to meet current requirements. In response to these key technical problems and make recommendations to improve these problems.

Virtual catheter training system is a typical application of Virtual reality(VR) technology in the medical field. Doctors must operate catheters through experience accurately in traditional minimally invasive surgery(MIS) to ensure the safety of the operation. In order to improve the operation skills we proposed the force feedback-based robotic catheter training system. In this paper, we can obtain force feedback through the catheter with CyberGlove. We established the high precise 3D model, and then we set up the mapping relationship between CyberGlove and the virtual hand, realizing the human-computer interaction. Based on the previous work, we created a virtual environment completed the collision detection and force feedback. In addition, the relevant verification experiment confirmed that the virtual environment makes surgery more immersive, the experimental result proved this system could simulate the real force feedback process, and the feedback force is 0.619N when the biggest variable value is 0.5mm.

Short-term load forecasting is essential in the safely assigning of every electricity production and distribution facility. So a short-term load forecasting model and algorithm based on the weighted least squares support vector machine within the Bayesian evidence framework is proposed. The optimal parameters of models can be found through three-layer Bayesian evidence inference. To improve the robustness of the model, WLS-SVM regression model with good generalization performance is established by giving a different weight coefficient to each sample error, which further improves the prediction accuracy of the model.

In multi-robot cooperative control system where robots will complete a common task, it is significant to have a better communication among robots. This paper proposed a multi-robot cooperative control system for the spherical amphibious robot. The aim of this method is to set up a point to multipoint network which supports multiple robots link in. Moreover, Multi-robot cooperative control system is given to achieve master-slave approaches, where leader robot guides the slave robots. Multi-robot cooperative control system is a novel approach to the coordination of large numbers of relatively team robots which takes its inspiration from many aspects. We carried out some experiments, and experimental results indicated that using XBee modules with ZigBee protocol to transmit control signal to the robot is an efficiency way. ZigBee communication mode is very suitable for low power consumption, and low data transmission applications, which can be taken into consideration about the communication constraints among amphibious robots. The experimental results indicated that signals are transmitted efficiently in the low power environment by using XBee communications module, and proposed communication control system has excellent performance in low SNR environments. This communication system is very suitable in the low power environment, and the multi-robot cooperative wireless communication system can be used to underwater detection and environmental reconnaissance and military defense, etc.
