With the development of network information technology, industrial control system takes higher and higher requirement to automation. In order to achieve the seamless connection between the bottom field device and external, the MCF52234 CAN/Ethernet gateway design scheme based on MCF52234 is proposed in this paper. The freescale MCF52234 chip is chosen as the microprocessor. This paper expounds the CAN/Ethernet gateway hardware design, and presents the gateway protocol conversion software design, achieves the communication between CAN bus and Ethernet. Test results show that the embedded CAN/Ethernet gateway fulfills the anticipated requirements, has high transmission rate, good real-time performance. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Aiming at the common quality faults of scaling and corrosion in circulating cooling water, water quality index were often used to determine the scaling and corrosion of circulating cooling water quality trends. Prediction model of corrosion and scaling rate was built based on BP Neural Network in this paper. The optimal initial individuals were written into the network operating system to optimize the disadvantages of weights and thresholds in BP neural network based on genetic algorithm. The prediction function would output after the network training after comparison of predicted and actual values of the model. The performance of the actual situation was verified to match the model prediction. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Electromagnetism based detection has advanced rapidly in recent years because of its characteristics of non-contact and non-invasion nature. An electromagnetic measurement system for monitoring the crack of conductivity material was presented in this paper. The system consists of signal source module, measuring module and demodulation module. In order to evaluate the system performance, some prime experimental work was undertaken, the results showed the feasibility of the system. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

In view of a serious threat for the transient stability of the power system being caused by the large-scale wind farms integration, and combining with advantages of STATCOM which can quickly restore the fault voltage and fastly, flexibly and smoothly compensate the reactive power, a method is proposed using STATCOM controller of to improve transient stability of the power system integrated by large-scale wind farms. The control strategy of the STATCOM controller uses adaptive double loop control. The role of the device to improvement transient stability of the power system is studied under the condition of serious fault. by simulation comparison with the condition without STATCOM controller installed at the same place. The simulation results show that the STATCOM controller can clearly improve transient stability of the power system integrated by large-scale wind farms. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Aiming at the strict environment limit of existing technology and industrial production in the textile industry, a multi-point temperature and humidity monitoring system has been introduced based on the wireless sensor network. The data collected by the sensors was transmitted through wireless data transmitting module. And the base station will transmit the data received from this module to the computer after data processing. Thus the temperature and humidity data monitoring management has been realized in computer. This system is developed by using the Visual C++, and has realized the SQL Server database storage by using ADO technology. Finally, the environment monitoring in the textile factor has been received and the production requirements has been satisfied. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

This paper chooses short trip to study after comprehensive understanding synthesis of the driving cycle. It introduces the data acquisition and analyzes the advantages of the taxis as test vehicles. Then it preprocesses the original data to make the convenience division of short trip. At last it screenes the candidate short stroke according to the actual conditions. The realization of data preprocessing as well as division and screening of short trip through computers is based on the MATLAB software programming. The results of the short trip can be directly used for the follow-up study and synthesis of the driving cycle. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Under the background of growing world energy shortage people start to realize the potentiality of renewable resources. Wind-solar hybrid power system as its stability and economy is with widespread use now. This paper according to the character of wind power and photovoltaic power generation, briefly introduces the wind-solar hybrid power system, shows the design of a remote control system based on the remote terminal unit (RTU). The control strategy of battery charging and grid-connection is carried out. There are two stages of control system which include sensors RTU communication network and terminal pc. In order to eliminate hydraulic imbalance phenomenon of the heating network, this article briefly introduces the operation principle of the system. The remote control system uses computer information and communication technology to monitor the network flow, through the pressure curve to estimate the hydraulic condition. According to the analysis of pipe resistance properties and the hydraulic balance calculation, the system will change the valve opening intelligently, to make the heating network running in a hydraulic balance condition. The vortex flow meter and flow control valve can be used to adjust the water flow of primary and secondary network, such measure will ensure the hydraulic stability of heating system, save the thermal energy consumption. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

Under partially shaded conditions, the P-U characteristic of the photovoltaic (PV) array is characterized by multiple peaks. The presence of multiple peaks reduces the effectiveness of the existing maximum power point tracking (MPPT) schemes, which refers only to the tracking of a single peak on the P-U characteristic. This paper proposes a novel method for the global MPPT. The new method starts at the starting voltage which is 80% of the open-circuit voltage of the PV array, and finds the first local maximum power point (MPP) using the perturb and observe (P&O) approach. Then the second search finds the next local MPP based on the P&O approach starting from the new starting voltage, which is determined by increasing the rate of slope of the current line at the first local MPP. The new algorithm follows this searching procedure until the global MPP is found. The new algorithm avoids searching the turning-point voltage between the two local MPP, and the voltage range swept is shortened significantly with the result of fast searching speed. Simulations validates that under partially shaded conditions the proposed new algorithm can track the global MPP with the fast tracking speed and the high precision. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.

The main objective of power flow control for unified power flow controller (UPFC) is to increase the transmission capacity over the existing transmission corridor or line. This paper presents a practical engineering methodology of embedding the power flow control model of UPFC into the commercial software -- power system analysis software package (PSASP) based on its user program interface (UPI) function. In the proposed methodology, the interface currents of UPFC series side and UPFC shunt side between the UPFC device and the network are used to control the transmission line power flow and UPFC bus voltage, respectively. In UPFC series side, the current of UPFC series branch is calculated from the power target equation of the controlled line. In UPFC shunt side, the shunt reactive current of UPFC is used to control the bus voltage. Simulation results on a practical power system show that the proposed methodology can be efficiently applied to the engineering research and analysis of the real power grid with UPFC with good convergence and only one control parameter needed to be prescribed. © (2013) Trans Tech Publications, Switzerland.
