Surface electromyography (sEMG) signal is a physiological electrical signal produced by muscle contraction. Different gestures can be effectively recognized from the characteristics of the sEMG signal. Currently, convolutional neural networks (CNNs) have been widely used in sEMG gesture recognition systems due to their capabilities in acquiring spatial features of sEMG signals. However, these classical CNNs are inefficient in extracting temporal correlation that resides in the time serials of sEMG signals, which is definitely important for gesture recognition. To overcome such a drawback of traditional CNN-based gesture recognition methods, we propose a multichannel hybrid deep learning model for gesture recognition by combining the multichannel CNNs with a gated recurrent unit (GRU). Specifically, we use multiple CNNs to preprocess the original multichannel EMG signals in a one-by-one manner to obtain the spatial features in the current observing window. The outputs of the multiple CNNs are concatenated and fed to a temporal-feature extracting module, which is designed by cascading a GRU with an attention mechanism. Through the GRU, the temporal features of successive signal frames can be established, while the attention mechanism is introduced to further focus on the key information in recognizing the gestures, which is beneficial to improve the robustness and accuracy of the model. Experiments show that the recognition accuracy of the proposed method reaches 97.6% and 96.7% on the Ninapro DB2 and Ninapro DB5 datasets, respectively. Compared with the classical CNN method, the performance improvement is 2.9% and xx% higher than that of the traditona CNN model, respectively.

Signatures are one of the most important means to ensure the authenticity of documents and are commonly used in life and work. In identifying imitation handwriting, it is easy to make mistakes that cannot correctly identify and evaluate different writing characteristics. In this paper, from the perspective of dynamic handwriting detection, we propose RF sign, a signature anticounterfeiting real-time monitoring model, which achieves passive recognition of signature behavior using only a single antenna with a single tag. The RF sign identifies different users by extracting fine-grained reflection features from the original RF signal. We introduced a dynamic time regularization and neural network technique for similarity calculation and signature recognition matching to achieve template matching and classification. We compiled a real-time signature handwriting detection system. The system effectively identifies the person's signature by checking real-time spatial and temporal information. Comprehensive experiments show that the recognition accuracy of my signature can reach over 93% and is robust to input location, environmental changes, and user diversity. © 2023 Biaokai Zhu et al.

Despite the remarkable advances in visual saliency analysis for natural scene images (NSIs), salient object detection (SOD) for optical remote sensing images (RSIs) still remains an open and challenging problem. In this paper, we propose an end-to-end Dense Attention Fluid network (DAFNet) for SOD in optical RSIs. A Global Context-aware Attention (GCA) module is proposed to adaptively capture long-range semantic context relationships, and is further embedded in a Dense Attention Fluid (DAF) structure that enables shallow attention cues flow into deep layers to guide the generation of high-level feature attention maps. Specifically, the GCA module is composed of two key components, where the global feature aggregation module achieves mutual reinforcement of salient feature embeddings from any two spatial locations, and the cascaded pyramid attention module tackles the scale variation issue by building up a cascaded pyramid framework to progressively refine the attention map in a coarse-to-fine manner. In addition, we construct a new and challenging optical RSI dataset for SOD that contains 2,000 images with pixel-wise saliency annotations, which is currently the largest publicly available benchmark. Standardized big data, as a product of the combination of big data and standardization work, objectively reflects the status quo and trends of standardization work. An in-depth study of the distribution characteristics of standardized big data resources has important value for improving the efficiency of standardization. Therefore, this paper explores the characteristics of the distribution of standardization resources from the dimensions of spatial and temporal distribution, industry distribution, standard type distribution, and distribution of think tank experts through visual analysis methods. The study shows that: (1) the distribution of standardization resources in Shandong Province presents significant hierarchical and geographical characteristics; (2) from the viewpoint of the distribution of industry types and standard types, the distribution of standardization resources in Shandong Province presents a typical "long-tailed distribution"; (3) the distribution of think-tank experts presents obvious "agglomeration effect".

Liver disease diagnosis is pivotal for effective patient management, and machine learning techniques have shown promise in this domain. In this study, we investigate the impact of Polynomial-SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis on enhancing the performance and interpretability of machine learning models for liver disease classification. Our results demonstrate significant improvements in accuracy, precision, recall, F1_score, and Matthews correlation coefficient across various algorithms when polynomial- SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis is applied. Specifically, the Light Gradient Boosting Machine model achieves exceptional performance with 100 % accuracy in both scenarios. Furthermore, by comparing the results obtained with and without the approach, we observe substantial differences in the performance, highlighting the importance of incorporating Polynomial-SHapley Additive exPlanations analysis for improved model performance. The Polynomial features and SHapley Additive exPlanations values also enhance the interpretability of machine learning models by capturing complex feature interactions, enabling users to gain deeper insights into the underlying mechanisms driving the diagnosis. Moreover, data rebalancing using Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique and parameter tuning were employed to optimize the performance of the models. These findings underscore the significance of employing this analytical approach in machine-learning-based diagnostic systems for liver diseases, offering superior performance and enhanced interpretability for informed decision-making in clinical practice. © 2024 Elsevier Ltd

Few-shot Object Detection with Camouflage Animals

Object detection is a hot issue in the field of computer vision, which is widely used in intelligent video surveillance, medical image analysis, and practice in the fields of military strategy. Previous object detection is based on a lot of training data, and for some special target, it is difficult to find enough annotation data to training model, so few-shot object detection was born. In this paper, a data set of animals with protective colors is constructed(CAD), which contains ten categories of different objects with high quality annotations. We combine the existing attention RPN and Feature Reweighting module to train our net, the experimental results prove that the Camouflage animals in nature can be well identified, and our results obtain 1.9% AP50, 1.2% AP75 improvement compared with before work.

Preserving the confidentiality and integrity of data transmission is paramount in the Internet of Things (IoT)-based healthcare systems. Current encryption techniques that allow plaintext checks primarily serve a specific cryptosystem, lacking the adaptability to work with a diverse system incorporating various cryptographic methods. To address this, we present a unique online/offline heterogeneous signcryption scheme with plaintext checkable encryption (HOOSC-PCE). This approach enables the transition of signcrypted messages from an identity-based cryptosystem (IBC) to a public key infrastructure (PKI) system, improving information interoperability. A key aspect of our scheme is its capacity to allow cloud servers to perform plaintext queries, facilitating efficient data searches using plaintext keywords over encrypted data. Furthermore, the signcryption process is divided into online and offline phases. The online phase handles tasks that require fewer resources, while the offline phase carries out more resource-intensive preparatory tasks. We rigorously tested the HOOSC-PCE scheme's security by proving it secure under the Random Oracle Model (ROM). Meanwhile, compared to similar work, it effectively reduces computation costs by 46.39%, 19.45%, 18.73%, and 13.25% across offline encryption, online encryption, decryption, and search algorithms. The results indicate that the HOOSC-PCE is secure and efficient, confirming its feasibility for IoT-based healthcare systems. © 2024 Elsevier B.V.

The seedling stage is important in the growth and development of maize, and it is also a critical period that affects maize yield and quality. Accurately recognizing this stage of maize is challenging, as current maize seedling detection methods struggle with small sizes and complex environments. This paper proposes a rapid maize seedling detection method that emphasizes spatial feature extraction in the receptive field and cross-dimensional interaction—receptive field triplet attention YOLO (RFT-YOLO). First, we design a convolutional module for cross-dimensional information interaction within the receptive field. Second, we introduce an advanced selective fusion network, which boosts the multi-scale fusion capability of small object features while reducing the GFLOPs of the model. Additionally, we employ Inner-IoU to diminish sensitivity to positional biases of small objects and expedite the convergence of the loss function. Finally, we create a dataset of maize seedlings to conduct our experiments. Experimental results demonstrate that the RFT-YOLO significantly enhances performance, reducing the number of parameters by 35.3% and GFLOPs by 14.24%, compared to the baseline model. Moreover, the mean average precision (mAP) improves from 89.6% to 91.5%. These improvements confirm the model's effectiveness in detecting maize seedlings.

Edge-Adaptive Dynamic Scalable Convolution for Efficient Remote Mobile Pathology Analysis

With the emergence of edge computing, there’s a growing need for advanced technologies capable of real-time, efficient processing of complex data on edge devices, particularly in mobile health systems handling pathological images. On edge computing devices, the lightweighting of models and reduction of computational requirements not only save resources but also increase inference speed. Although many lightweight models and methods have been proposed in recent years, they still face many common challenges. This paper introduces a novel convolution operation, Dynamic Scalable Convolution (DSC), which optimizes computational resources and accelerates inference on edge computing devices. DSC is shown to outperform traditional convolution methods in terms of parameter efficiency, computational speed, and overall performance, through comparative analyses in computer vision tasks like image classification and semantic segmentation. Experimental results demonstrate the significant potential of DSC in enhancing deep neural networks, particularly for edge computing applications in smart devices and remote healthcare, where it addresses the challenge of limited resources by reducing computational demands and improving inference speed. By integrating advanced convolution technology and edge computing applications, DSC offers a promising approach to support the rapidly developing mobile health field, especially in enhancing remote healthcare delivery through mobile multimedia communication.

Semi-supervised techniques for medical image segmentation have demonstrated potential, effectively training models using scarce labeled data alongside a wealth of unlabeled data. Therefore, semi-supervised medical image segmentation is one of the key issues in engineering applications of medical artificial intelligence. Consistency constraints based on prototype alignment provide an intuitively sensible way to discover valuable insights from unlabeled data that can motivate segmentation performance. In this work, we propose a dual prototypes contrastive network (DPC-Net) to motivate semi-supervised medical segmentation accuracy by imposing image-level global prototype constraints and pixel-level local prototype constraints. First, we introduce a Background-Separation Global Prototype Contrastive Learning technique that utilizes the natural mutual exclusivity of foreground and background to separate the inter-class distances and encourage the segmentation network to obtain segmentation results that are more complete and do not contain background regions. Second, we design a Cross-Consistent Local Prototype Contrastive Learning techniques to extend the perturbation consistency of the two networks to the prototype's localized response to the feature map, thereby shaping a more stable intra-class prototype space and producing accurate and robust pixel-level predictions. Finally, we comprehensively evaluate our method on mainstream semi-supervised medical image segmentation benchmarks and settings, and experimental results show that our DPC-Net outperforms current state-of-the-art methods. © 2024, The Authors.
