In recent years, the application of integrated circuits in various fields has become more and more extensive. The attackers utilize the hidden dangers of the industrial chain to design and launch hardware Trojan attacks and their attack patterns and attack surfaces are also evolving, which has become an emerging security threat in the production of modern integrated circuits. Traditional detection methods have made it difficult to deal with hardware Trojans in a timely and effective manner, so new detection methods are imminent. In this paper, a deep learning-based hardware Trojan detection method to improve the accuracy of hardware Trojan detection to some extent is proposed. The paper designs a convolutional neural network (TextCNN), a bidirectional long and short-term memory network (Bi-LSTM), and the integrated learning of these two single models (TextCNN+Bi-LSTM) as the hardware Trojan detection scheme. The experimental results show that the hardware Trojan detection method based on deep learning proposed in this paper has advantages in terms of detection accuracy and robustness.

AR-CNN: an attention ranking network for learning urban perception

An increasing number of deep learning methods is being applied to quantify the perception of urban environments, study the relationship between urban appearance and resident safety, and improve urban appearance. Most advanced methods extract image feature representations from street-level images through conventional visual computation algorithms or deep convolutional neural networks and then directly predict the results using features. Unfortunately, these methods take color and texture information together during processing. Color and texture are prime image features, and they affect human perception and judgment differently. We argue that color and texture should be operated differently; therefore, we formulate an end-to-end learning methodology to process input images according to color and texture information before inputting it into the neural network. The processed images and the original image constitute three input streams for the triad attention ranking convolutional neural network(AR-CNN) model proposed in this *** accordance with the aspects of color and texture, an improved attention mechanism in the convolution layer is proposed. Our objective is to obtain the scores of humans on urban appearance in accordance with the prediction results computed from pairwise comparisons generated by the AR-CNN model.

The escalating dependence on artificial intelligence (AI) in energy and electrical power dependability systems has garnered significant interest in both academic and industrial circles. This study provides a bibliometric examination of artificial intelligence (AI) applications in the field of electrical dependability, covering the time frame from 2002 to 2023. The main aim of this study is to examine the patterns of publication, notable authors, institutions, and funding organizations that contribute to research in artificial intelligence for electrical dependability. A further objective of the endeavor is to chart the co-authorship networks, keyword frequencies, and citation trends in the field. Extraction of data from the Scopus database was carried out using an extensive search approach, and subsequently, network visualization was performed using VOSviewer. The findings indicated a substantial rise in research productivity throughout the last ten years, accompanied with a distinguishable expansion in joint research endeavors. China has established itself as the foremost nation in research on electrical reliability powered by artificial intelligence, with the united States and India following closely after. In addition, the National Natural science Foundation of China was recognized as the most productive and influential funding institution. The thematic analysis revealed many prominent subjects in the sector, such as predictive maintenance, problem detection, and energy consumption optimization via artificial intelligence. The paper offers invaluable insights into the present research landscape and emphasizes developing trends, providing a clear plan for future research objectives in the fields of artificial intelligence and electrical dependability. © 2024 IEEE.

Rethink Video Retrieval Representation for Video Captioning

Video captioning, a challenging task targeting the automatic generation of accurate and comprehensive descriptions based on video content, has witnessed substantial success recently driven by bridging video representations and textual semantics. Inspired by the nature of the video retrieval task, which learns visual features strongly related to text queries, we propose to take advantage of visual representation learning from the video retrieval framework to tackle video captioning tasks. However, a simple direct application of video retrieval models performs poorly due to the weak ability to capture sufficient video details and temporal information required for video captioning. To increase the attention on details, we propose a learnable token shift module, which flexibly captures subtle movements in local regions across the temporal sequence. Furthermore, we devise a Refineformer, which learns to integrate local video tokens strongly related to desired captions via a cross-attention mechanism. Extensive experiments on MSVD, MSR-VTT and VATEX demonstrate the favorable performance of our method. © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Load forecasting is an essential part in power system management and planning. In recent years, more and more researchers started to focus on the behavior of terminal customers, trying to improve the accuracy of load forecasting. This paper proposes to use the neuron network model to predict each user’s load first, and then aggregate all the forecasting results to get higher-level prediction. In order to speed up the process, we also design a model based on CUDA. We conducted several experiments on real-world data (160 thousand consumers’ load profiles) and the results confirm the effectiveness and efficiency of our method.

Genetic Programming (GP) is a promising evolutionary machine learning technique for image classification, known for its ability to evolve flexible, effective, and interpretable models. However, the high computational cost of fitness evaluations in evolutionary learning restricts its practical applications. While Surrogate models offer efficient approximations for costly fitness evaluations, their application in GP-based image classification remains in its early stages, facing challenges such as handing flexible tree-based representations with variable lengths, designing an effective surrogate, and the limited performance of a single surrogate across various image classification tasks. To address these issues, this paper proposes an ensemble surrogate-assisted GP approach to image classification. The new approach constructs one global surrogate model to explore broad areas and three local surrogate models within specific subspaces to exploit local regions, enabling more accurate predictions of GP individuals' fitness. Moreover, a dynamic weighting strategy is developed to assign different weights to the base surrogate models in the ensemble, improving prediction accuracy. Additionally, the proposed approach refines the surrogate training set1 construction method, previously limited to single-tree GP, enabling it to accelerate both single-tree and multi-tree GP 2 for image classification. Experimental results on five datasets of varying difficulty demonstrate that the new ensemble surrogate method significantly reduces the number of expensive fitness evaluations of both single-tree and multi-tree GP-based image classification methods while achieving competitive performance. The comparisons with other state-of-the-art methods also confirm its effectiveness. © 1997-2012 IEEE.

Self-supervised learning usually uses a large amount of unlabeled data to pre-train an encoder which can be used as a general-purpose feature extractor, such that downstream users only need to perform fine-tuning operations to enjoy the benefit of "large model". Despite this promising prospect, the security of pre-trained encoder has not been thoroughly investigated yet, especially when the pre-trained encoder is publicly available for commercial *** this paper, we propose AdvEncoder, the first framework for generating downstream-agnostic universal adversarial examples based on the pre-trained encoder. AdvEncoder aims to construct a universal adversarial perturbation or patch for a set of natural images that can fool all the downstream tasks inheriting the victim pre-trained encoder. Unlike traditional adversarial example works, the pre-trained encoder only outputs feature vectors rather than classification labels. Therefore, we first exploit the high frequency component information of the image to guide the generation of adversarial examples. Then we design a generative attack framework to construct adversarial perturbations/patches by learning the distribution of the attack surrogate dataset to improve their attack success rates and transferability. Our results show that an attacker can successfully attack downstream tasks without knowing either the pre-training dataset or the downstream dataset. We also tailor four defenses for pre-trained encoders, the results of which further prove the attack ability of AdvEncoder. Our codes are available at: https://***/CGCL-codes/AdvEncoder.

Discrete chaotic systems based on memristors exhibit excellent dynamical properties and are more straightforward to implement in hardware, making them highly suitable for generating cryptographic keystreams. However, most existing memristor-based chaotic systems rely on a single memristor. This paper introduces a novel discrete chaotic system employing dual memristors, named the 3D memristive cubic map with dual discrete memristors (3D-MCM). The 3D-MCM system demonstrates richer and more intricate dynamical behaviors compared to its single-memristor counterparts, as verified through bifurcation diagrams, Lyapunov exponent spectra, and complexity analyses. Notably, the system exhibits coexisting attractors, substantially enhancing its dynamical complexity. Hardware implementation of the 3D-MCM attractors confirms its feasibility for industrial applications. To illustrate the system's potential in encryption tasks, this study integrates the quaternary-based permutation and dynamic emanating diffusion (QPDED-IE) scheme for image encryption with the *** results demonstrate that the QPDED-IE scheme based on the 3D-MCM exhibits strong diffusion and confusion properties, effectively resisting cryptanalytic attacks. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

3D medical image segmentation is vital for disease diagnosis and effective treatment strategies. Despite the advancements in Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), their fixed receptive fields constrain global context modeling, leading to suboptimal performance, particularly with complex shapes and multi-scale variations. Transformer enhances the global modeling capability through self-attention mechanism. However, challenges persist in capturing fine-grained local features and extracting edge features. To overcome these issues, In this study, a dual-path encoder is proposed, which consists of a 3D PDC and a Swin Transformer and is combined with a CNN for the decoder. The 3D PDC module extracts local features by calculating the differences between neighboring pixels. To improve the ability of capturing edge structures, three 3D PDC variants (3D CPDC, 3D APDC, and 3D RPDC) are proposed to optimize the processing ability of complex edges, multi-directional edges, and multi-scale structures, respectively. After performance evaluation, the selected CARV combinations (3D CPDC, 3D APDC, 3D RPDC, and 3D ordinary convolution) achieve a compromise between high segmentation accuracy and low computational cost. The Swin Transformer encoder captures global context using a hierarchical shift-window mechanism, while the CNN decoder fuses features progressively to produce precise pixel-level segmentation. The proposed method exceeds the performance of existing state-of-the-art techniques, as shown by experiments conducted on the BTCV, FLARE21, and AMOS22 datasets. © 2025, The Authors. PediaBench: A Comprehensive Chinese Pediatric dataset for Benchmarking Large Language Models

The emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) in the medical domain has stressed a compelling need for standard datasets to evaluate their question-answering (QA) performance. Although there have been several benchmark datasets for medical QA, they either cover common knowledge across different departments or are specific to another department rather than pediatrics. Moreover, some of them are limited to objective questions and do not measure the generation capacity of LLMs. Therefore, they cannot comprehensively assess the QA ability of LLMs in pediatrics. To fill this gap, we construct PediaBench, the first Chinese pediatric dataset for LLM evaluation. Specifically, it contains 4,117 objective questions and 1,632 subjective questions spanning 12 pediatric disease groups. It adopts an integrated scoring criterion based on different difficulty levels to thoroughly assess the proficiency of an LLM in instruction following, knowledge understanding, clinical case analysis, etc. Finally, we validate the effectiveness of PediaBench with extensive experiments on 20 open-source and commercial LLMs. Through an in-depth analysis of experimental results, we offer insights into the ability of LLMs to answer pediatric questions in the Chinese context, highlighting their limitations for further improvements.
