An emerging fluid antenna system (FAS) brings a new dimension, i.e., the antenna positions, to deal with the deep fading, but simultaneously introduces challenges related to the transmit design. This paper proposes an "unsupervised learning to optimize" paradigm to optimize the FAS. Particularly, we formulate the sum-rate and energy efficiency (EE) maximization problems for a multiple-user multiple-input single-output (MU-MISO) FAS and solved by a two-stage graph neural network (GNN) where the first stage and the second stage are for the inference of antenna positions and beamforming vectors, respectively. The outputs of the two stages are jointly input into an unsupervised loss function to train the two-stage GNN. The numerical results demonstrate that the advantages of the FAS for performance improvement and the two-stage GNN for real-time and scalable optimization. Besides, the two stages can function separately. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Dear editor,To maintain the confidentiality of the sensitive data, users tend to encrypt their data under an associated access policy(or attributes) before outsourcing them to the *** the traditional access control model via cryptographic approaches, e.g., ciphertext-policy attribute-based encryption(or CP-ABE), users are allowed to formulate access policies and let the encrypted data associated with access policies. Only authenticated users, whose own attributes matching their formulated access policies, have the privilege to recover the ciphertext. However, once the access policies are formulated, the authorized user cannot update it unless the user downloads and re-encrypts the file under the new access policy. Hence, to achieve dynamic access control, the model of ciphertext-policy attribute-based proxy re-encryption(or CP-AB-PRE) is adopted by integrating the proxy re-encryption(or PRE).

With the development of blockchain technology, a cryptocurrency based on blockchain technology is becoming more and more popular. The huge cryptocurrency transaction network has therefore received widespread attention. The link prediction learning structure of the network is supportive to understand the mechanism of networks, so it also has been widely studied in the cryptocurrency network. However, the dynamics of cryptocurrency transaction networks have been neglected in past studies. In this study, therefore, we use a graph-regularized method to link past transaction records with future transactions. Based on this, we propose a single latent factor-dependent, nonnegative, multiplicative, and graph regularized-incorporated update (SLF-NMGRU) algorithm and further propose a graph regularized nonnegative latent factor analysis (GrNLFA) model. Eventually, the experimental results on a real cryptocurrency transaction network show that the proposed method improves both the accuracy and computational efficiency.

The combination of IoT and AI technologies in the future promises to disrupt agriculture positively while trying to solve problems affecting the sector through embracing technological advances. The following paper focuses on the development of an IoT and AI framework for enhancing practices in agriculture through real-time control and smart control. Wireless IoT sensors are placed in the farms to monitor important parameters of farms like moisture content, temperature, humidity etc and health of crops. Consequently, data is harvested to assist with accurate irrigation, climatic regulation, and early diagnosis of disease. From the experimental results observed it became clear that resource utilization was boosted by 25% of lesser water usage while crop yields were boosted by as much as 30%. It also early identifies crop diseases, hence cutting crop losses by 15%. Such is crucial to stress that the results obtained reveal the ability of the system to improve the sustainability and productivity of agriculture. Future work will comprise the fine-tuning of the AI model, enhancement of sensors, and their incorporation with other smart technologies besides adapting this strategy for various agricultural conditions, hence the importance of smart solutions in the promotion of eco-friendly farming.

MutexMatch: Semi-Supervised Learning with Mutex-Based Consistency Regularization

The core issue in semi-supervised learning (SSL) lies in how to effectively leverage unlabeled data, whereas most existing methods tend to put a great emphasis on the utilization of high-confidence samples yet seldom fully explore the usage of low-confidence samples. In this paper, we aim to utilize low-confidence samples in a novel way with our proposed mutex-based consistency regularization, namely MutexMatch. Specifically, the high-confidence samples are required to exactly predict "what it is" by conventional True-Positive Classifier, while low-confidence samples are employed to achieve a simpler goal — to predict with ease "what it is not" by True-Negative Classifier. In this sense, we not only mitigate the pseudo-labeling errors but also make full use of the low-confidence unlabeled data by consistency of dissimilarity degree. MutexMatch achieves superior performance on multiple benchmark datasets, i.e., CIFAR-10, CIFAR-100, SVHN, STL-10, mini-ImageNet and Tiny-ImageNet. More importantly, our method further shows superiority when the amount of labeled data is scarce, e.g., 92.23% accuracy with only 20 labeled data on CIFAR-10. Knowledge distillation (KD) has recently gained great success in the field of object detection. By transferring the knowledge of the spatial or channel domain from the teacher model to the student model, it allows for a more compact representation with minimal performance loss. Despite this progress, existing KD methods typically treat knowledge from spatial or channel domains independently, ignoring the exploitation of the mutual relationship between these domains. In this work, we first explore the connection between spatial and channel domains and find there exists a strong correlation between them, i.e. the salient channels tend to contain significant object regions in the spatial domain. Motivated by this observation, we propose DCSF-KD, a novel Dynamic Channel-wise Spatial Feature Knowledge Distillation framework for object detection by fully exploiting both spatial and channel knowledge. Specifically, we introduce channel-wise spatial feature distillation and global channel attention distillation, using information from both domains to improve the accuracy of the student network. Experiments demonstrate that our DCSF-KD outperforms existing detection methods on both homogeneous and heterogeneous teacher-student network pairs. For example, when using the MaskRCNN-Swin detector as the teacher, and based on RetinaNet and FCOS with ResNet-50 on MS COCO, our DCSF-KD can achieve 41.9% and 44.1% mAP, respectively. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). Tsirelson bounds for quantum correlations with indefinite causal order

Quantum theory is in principle compatible with processes that violate causal inequalities, an analogue of Bell inequalities that constrain the correlations observed by sets of parties operating in a definite causal order. Since the introduction of causal inequalities, determining their maximum quantum violation, analogue to Tsirelson’s bound for Bell inequalities, has remained an open problem. Here we provide a general method for bounding the violation of arbitrary causal inequalities, establishing limits to the correlations achievable by arbitrary local experiments and by arbitrary quantum processes with indefinite causal order. We prove that the maximum violation is generally smaller than the algebraic maximum of the corresponding correlation, and determine Tsirelson-like bounds for a class of causal inequalities including some of the most paradigmatic examples. Our results motivate a search for physical principles characterizing the boundary of the set of quantum correlations with indefinite causal order. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Nuclear medicine SPECT is the main functional imaging modality, which plays an important role in the diagnosis and treatment of thyroid diseases. Hyperthyroidism is a common thyroid disease with symptoms such as exophthalmos, eyelid edema, and vision loss. In order to accurately segment thyroid lesions from SPECT thyroid data, a U-net-based thyroid lesion segmentation model was constructed. First, mirror, rotate, and translate the existing data. At the same time, use the generative adversarial network to expand the data. Then build a segmentation model based on U-net. Finally, perform experimental evaluation and analysis based on a set of real SPECT thyroid data. The results show that: in the traditional data expansion, the IoU value of the improved RS-U-net model is 66.83. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Tuberculosis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which can invade many organs, and pulmonary tuberculosis is the most common infection. It is the key to treat tuberculosis to detect and diagnose the disease in the early stage. The existing computer-aided detection system has made preliminary progress in the diagnosis of pulmonary tuberculosis based on chest X-ray, but there is still a lack of further research on the classification of image signs of tuberculosis. In recent years, with the in-depth research and development in the field of deep learning, convolutional networks have emerged. Convolutional networks have achieved the best current results in image recognition, image classification, image segmentation, and other fields. Therefore, this paper applies the convolutional network to tuberculosis CT images and uses different convolutional network models to study the classification of tuberculosis CT images. Experiments show that the DenseNet121 model has higher performance than VGGNet16, VGGNet19, and ResNet152 models. As a result of classification, the accuracy rate is over 90%. © 2021 IEEE.

Multi-Modal Relation Extraction (MMRE) aims at identifying the relation between two entities in texts that contain visual clues. Rich visual content is valuable for the MMRE task, but existing works cannot well model finer associations among different modalities, failing to capture the truly helpful visual information and thus limiting relation extraction performance. In this paper, we propose a novel MMRE framework to better capture the deeper correlations of text, entity pair, and image/objects, so as to mine more helpful information for the task, termed as DGF-PT. We first propose a prompt-based autoregressive encoder, which builds the associations of intra-modal and inter-modal features related to the task, respectively by entity-oriented and object-oriented prefixes. To better integrate helpful visual information, we design a dual-gated fusion module to distinguish the importance of image/objects and further enrich text representations. In addition, a generative decoder is introduced with entity type restriction on relations, better filtering out candidates. Extensive experiments conducted on the benchmark dataset show that our approach achieves excellent performance compared to strong competitors, even in the few-shot situation.
