B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix composites has become one of the research hotspots in the field of materials science due to the“transformation-induced plasticity”phenomenon,which makes the composites show better macroscopic plastic deformability and obvious work-hardening behavior compared to the conventional amorphous alloy matrix composites reinforced with ductile ***,the in-situ metastable B2-CuZr phase tends to undergo eutectoid decomposition during solidification,and the volume fraction,size,and distribution of B2-CuZr phase are difficult to control,which limits the development and application of these *** date,much efforts have been made to solve the above problems through composition optimization,casting parameter tailoring,and post-processing *** this study,a review was given based on relevant studies,focusing on the predictive approach,reinforcing mechanism,and microstructure tailoring methods of B2-CuZr phase reinforced amorphous alloy matrix *** research focus and future prospects were also given for the future development of the present composite system.

Wireless communication-enabled Cooperative Adaptive Cruise Control(CACC)is expected to improve the safety and traffic capacity of vehicle *** CACC considers a conventional communication delay with fixed Vehicular Communication Network(VCN)***,when the network is under attack,the communication delay may be much higher,and the stability of the system may not be *** paper proposes a novel communication Delay Aware CACC with Dynamic Network Topologies(DADNT).The main idea is that for various communication delays,in order to maximize the traffic capacity while guaranteeing stability and minimizing the following error,the CACC should dynamically adjust the VCN network topology to achieve the minimum inter-vehicle *** this end,a multi-objective optimization problem is formulated,and a 3-step Divide-And-Conquer sub-optimal solution(3DAC)is *** results show that with 3DAC,the proposed DADNT with CACC can reduce the inter-vehicle spacing by 5%,10%,and 14%,respectively,compared with the traditional CACC with fixed one-vehicle,two-vehicle,and three-vehicle look-ahead network topologies,thereby improving the traffic efficiency.

Experimental Study on Geometry Characteristics of Turbulent Premixed Flames for Natural Gas/Air Mixtures

In this study,focusing on the geometry characteristics of spherical expanding flame,the turbulent premixed flames of natural gas/air mixtures were investigated in a fan-stirred turbulent *** effects of initial temperature(T=300-400 K),initial pressure(P=0.1-0.3 MPa),turbulence intensity(u'=1.0-2.7 m/s),oxygen volumetric percentage(φ(O_(2))=15%-21%)and carbon dioxide volumetric percentage(φ(CO_(2))=0-20%)were delved *** flame profile under the Cartesian coordinate system was derived from the schlieren images taken by the high-speed ***,from both macroscopic and microscopic perspectives,the influence of experimental conditions on the flame geometry characteristics was explored through flame front extraction,wavelet decomposition and network *** results demonstrate that for significant flame wrinkling,changes in species concentrations and turbulence intensity have more pronounced effects on the flame wrinkling *** wrinkling of the flame front maintains a certain degree of similarity,as evidenced by the locally concentrated distribution of the angles of the maximum fluctuation *** disturbance energy under large-scale(D6-D8)disturbances exhibits relatively high values with a similar trend,exerting a significant impact on the geometry characteristics of the flame *** peaks of correlation degree are scattered either with the decomposition scale or the development of flame radius,indicating no linear correlation between different detail ***,the probability distribution of node degrees in key wrinkled regions exhibits different trends with that of large-scale wrinkling and disturbance energy,especially with changes in initial *** occurs because the number of key wrinkles varies based on the perturbation's strength or the region's ***,an increase in the fluctuation frequency of the flame's local radius may not necessarily lead to an increase in the number of key folded regions.

Fault simulation is a fundamental component in the design for testability (DFT) processes, especially in automatic test pattern generation (ATPG). Various approaches have been proposed to enhance the efficiency of fault simulation on multi-core systems. However, these approaches have not taken full consideration of the intrinsic characteristics of deterministic patterns. Deterministic patterns are generated by ATPG and are predominantly employed in practical applications rather than random patterns. In this paper, we introduce DDP-Fsim, a fast and scalable fault simulator on multi-core systems. DDP-Fsim capitalizes on the distinctive nature of deterministic patterns, wherein a small subset of patterns can effectively detect the majority of faults. Initially, DDP-Fsim parallels in fault dimension by dynamically scheduling fanout-free regions (FFR) to handle easy-to-detect faults. Subsequently, it parallels in pattern dimension by dynamically scheduling patterns to address the remaining hard-to-detect faults. Experiments demonstrate that on a 24-core system, DDP-Fsim is 10× faster than the commercial tools for full-scan circuits and deterministic patterns. Additionally, DDP-Fsim with 24 cores achieves an average speed-up of 16× compared to its single-core execution, while the commercial tools with 24 cores achieves only 3×-6× speed-up than their single-core execution. This indicates the significantly superior scalability for DDP-Fsim. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s).

Low sintering shrinkage porous ceramics: Principles, progress, and perspectives

Porous ceramics are lightweight materials with diverse pore structures and are widely applied in areas such as thermal insulation, sound absorption, filtration, catalysis, and energy storage. However, excessive shrinkage during the sintering process of porous ceramics leads to cracking and deterioration, posing significant challenges for achieving complex shapes. Despite its importance, the field of low sintering shrinkage porous ceramics has not received sufficient attention. This review systematically discusses the principles and progress in the development of low sintering shrinkage porous ceramics. First, we introduce the characteristics of various preparation methods, including partial sintering, particle-stabilized foaming, gel-casting, foam-gelcasting, and additive manufacturing (AM). We then explain three primary principles of low sintering shrinkage from the perspectives of the volume effect and mass transfer processes. This review focuses on the properties and applications of typical low sintering shrinkage ceramics such as mullite and alumina, particularly their mechanical properties and thermal conductivity as thermal insulation and ceramic cores. Finally, we summarize the current state and present future perspectives on low sintering shrinkage porous ceramics.

An improved efficient adaptive method for large-scale multiexplosives explosion simulations

Characterization of the interfacial structure and fracture behavior of in situ synthesized ceramics to reinforce Ni-based composite coatings

This work used the in-situ synthesis of molten-state nitride ceramic phase-reinforced Ni-based alloy coat-ings,aiming to improve the phase-interface bonding through the interdependent co-solidification be-tween molten *** XRD was used to analyze the physical phases of the composite *** microstructure and phase-interface structure were characterized in detail by combining SEM,TEM,HRTEM,FFT,and SAED *** tester and microforce microhardness tester were em-ployed to measure the surface hardness and elastic modulus of the composite *** fracture be-havior of the composite coatings was characterized by observing the fracture morphology of the coatings using SEM combined with the EDS *** was found that the formation mechanisms of inter-facial misfit dislocation assistance,lattice distortion,aggregation of stacking faults,and specific growth orientation between the y-Ni matrix phase and each ceramic phase in NiCrBSi-TiCrN composite coat-ings improved the lattice matching between the two-phase interface,which resulted in the formation of atomically corresponding coherent lattice relations and stepped interfacial semi-coherent lattice relations,and enhanced the degree of phase-interface *** this basis,the composite coatings with high Cr content further inhibited the expansion of interphase penetration cracks due to the existence of Cr-rich zones at the phase interface,thus exhibiting high fracture *** work provides new opinions on the improvement of phase-interface bonding and composition design of Ni-based composite coatings.

Enhancing the Strength of Medium Mn Steel by Flash Treatment

As a representative of the third generation advanced high-strength steels(AHSSs),medium Mn steels(MMS)have broad development prospects in the field of automobile *** with typical austenite reversion treatment have a soft duplex microstructure,***+austenite,presenting a high ductility but a low yield *** we show that a flash heating and cooling after austenite reversion treatment can replace the ferrite with strong martensite,which greatly enhances the yield strength of a 0.25C-4Mn steel by about 461–886 *** adjusting the reversion temperature before the flash treatment,the C and Mn concentrations of reverted austenite can be altered,which determine the fraction of reverted austenite surviving the flash *** addition,the mechanical stability of final retained austenite is also linked to the reversion temperature,resulting different work hardening behaviors due to transformation induced plasticity(TRIP)*** tweaking the reversion temperature before the flash treatment,an optimized combination of strength and ductility can be *** micromechanical differences caused by the replacement of the matrix are also investigated via in-situ digital image correlation method.

In this work,we provide a comprehensive review on the formation,evolution,properties,and effects of supercritical *** Earth's interior,enhanced miscibility between H_(2)O and silicate by the addition of special components or by the increase of pressure and temperature gives rise to supercritical geofluid with a significant amount of both H_(2)O and silicate *** formation of supercritical geofluid in magmatic-hydrothermal systems,typified by pegmatite system,is governed by meltfluid critical *** formation of supercritical geofluid in metamorphic systems,typified by subducted slab,is governed by the second critical end *** results suggest that the presence of boron and fluorine in pegmatite system makes it possible to form supercritical geofluid at crustal depths,but the release of supercritical geofluid from subducted slab is withheld until almost 100 km depth.A major presence of both H_(2)O and depolymerized structural units(monomers,dimers,etc.)endows supercritical geofluid with unique physical properties including low density,low elastic moduli,low viscosity,high diffusivity,and high electrical *** geofluid can effectively mobilize a variety of elements even including high field strength elements and heavy rare earth *** chemical signatures of supercritical geofluid can be inherited by metasomatized mantle and mantle-derived melts,and this could give an explanation of the oxidation of arc *** separation of supercritical geofluid through the mechanism of spinodal decomposition leads to formation of a melt *** fluid inclusions recovered from subduction zone rocks and pegmatites are possible relics of supercritical *** geofluid can cause electrical anomaly and low seismic velocity near the top of subducted slab,and can be linked with intermediate-focus *** geofluid may have played a crucial role in the formation of pegmatites and associ
