As digitalization shapes Industry 4.0, integrating software engineering practices into the manufacturing domain becomes a key focus. DevOps is such a practice and methodology that enhances collaboration and automates processes in software development and IT operations. In previous work, we discussed challenges and opportunities of applying the DevOps paradigm in Cyber-Physical Production systems (CPPS) engineering, which are complex systems that integrate physical components with computer-controlled operations. This paper instantiates our DevOps4CPPS framework, spotlighting the application of GitOps and microservices in a CPPS environment. A real-world case study from laser ultra short pulse manufacturing illustrates how the approach effectively addresses the inherent challenges of CPPS, boosting agility and operational performance, while reducing downtime. The paper provides guidance to researchers and practitioners on applying DevOps practices to CPPS, and suggests future research directions. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper introduces a model-agnostic approach designed to enhance uncertainty estimation in the predictive modeling of soil properties, a crucial factor for advancing pedometrics and the practice of digital soil mapping. For ad-dressing the typical challenge of data scarcity in soil studies, we present an improved technique for uncertainty estimation. This method is based on the transformation of regression tasks into classification problems, which not only allows for the production of reliable uncertainty estimates but also enables the application of established machine learning algorithms with competitive performance that have not yet been utilized in pedometrics. Empirical results from datasets collected from two German agricultural fields showcase the practical application of the proposed methodology. Our results and findings suggest that the proposed approach has the potential to provide better uncertainty estimation than the models commonly used in pedometrics. © 2024 IEEE.

Internet of Things(IoT)and blockchain receive significant interest owing to their applicability in different application areas such as healthcare,finance,transportation,*** image security and privacy become a critical part of the healthcare sector where digital images and related patient details are communicated over the public *** paper presents a new wind driven optimization algorithm based medical image encryption(WDOA-MIE)technique for blockchain enabled IoT *** WDOA-MIE model involves three major processes namely data collection,image encryption,optimal key generation,and data ***,the medical images were captured from the patient using IoT ***,the captured images are encrypted using signcryption *** addition,for improving the performance of the signcryption technique,the optimal key generation procedure was applied by WDOA *** goal of the WDOA-MIE algorithm is to derive a fitness function dependent upon peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR).Upon successful encryption of images,the IoT devices transmit to the closest server for storing it in the blockchain *** performance of the presented method was analyzed utilizing the benchmark medical image *** security and the performance analysis determine that the presented technique offers better security with maximum PSNR of 60.7036 dB.

Job Connect is a pioneering job recommendation site that aims to make the job search process easier by suggesting job recommendations that are particularly customized to each user, based on the content of his or her CV. Through a meticulous study of the precise skills, experience, and qualifications recorded in the CV, Job Connect creates a profile for each user, which it uses to suggest highly relevant jobs that best suit the individual's specific background and career goals. The key concept of Job Connect is to make the job search process less exhausting, suggesting jobs that are particularly targeted and customized for each user, saving the time and effort typically spent browsing through dozens of job postings. The system works by using high-level data scraping algorithms to browse job postings from a broad spectrum of industries on the internet. Understanding Wikipedia Practices Through Hindi, Urdu, and English Takes on an Evolving Regional Conflict

Wikipedia is the product of thousands of editors working collaboratively to provide free and up-to-date encyclopedic information to the project's users. This article asks to what degree Wikipedia articles in three languages-Hindi, Urdu, and English-achieve Wikipedia's mission of making neutrally-presented, reliable information on a polarizing, controversial topic available to people around the globe. We chose the topic of the recent revocation of Article 370 of the Constitution of India, which, along with other recent events in and concerning the region of Jammu and Kashmir, has drawn attention to related articles on Wikipedia. This work focuses on the English Wikipedia, being the preeminent language edition of the project, as well as the Hindi and Urdu editions. Hindi and Urdu are the two standardized varieties of Hindustani, a lingua franca of Jammu and Kashmir. We analyzed page view and revision data for three Wikipedia articles to gauge popularity of the pages in our corpus, and responsiveness of editors to breaking news events and problematic edits. Additionally, we interviewed editors from all three language editions to learn about differences in editing processes and motivations, and we compared the text of the articles across languages as they appeared shortly after the revocation of Article 370. Across languages, we saw discrepancies in article tone, organization, and the information presented, as well as differences in how editors collaborate and communicate with one another. Nevertheless, in Hindi and Urdu, as well as English, editors predominantly try to adhere to the principle of neutral point of view (NPOV), and for the most part, the editors quash attempts by other editors to push political agendas. © 2021 ACM.

Satellite high aerial platform terrestrial integrated networks have become the hot topic these years, which have been regarded as the major part of the intelligence of things for future networks. During this work, we investigate the secrecy performance for rate-splitting multiple access-assisted satellite high aerial platform terrestrial integrated networks. Besides, imperfect hardware and channel estimation errors are considered in the secrecy networks. Moreover, to enhance the energy utilization efficiency, rate-splitting multiple access scheme is utilized into the considered network, which is prior to that of the non-orthogonal multiple access scheme. What's more, to enhance the satellite transmission, multiple high aerial platforms are used to forward the transmission along with multiple eavesdroppers. In addition, the direct transmission link is not considered in the secrecy networks due to the heavy fading and obstacles. Relied on the former considerations, the exact and asymptotic analysis for the secrecy performance is further obtained to confirm the rightness of the analysis. In this position paper, we discuss the semantic alignment-based approach for automating the ShEx-based validation of Wikidata items as proposed by Wikimedia Deutschland in July 2023, and we propose an alternative method that automates the shape-based validation of Wikidata entities and statements based on the conversion of ShEx EntitySchemas into SPARQL queries that identify relevant entities. The progression of artificial intelligence, particularly in healthcare domain, has brought significant progress to treatment, drug discovery, disease diagnosis and more. The main contribution of this paper is the development of a scenario-based preferences risk register framework for quantifying AI related risks in disease diagnosis. Two case studies, one involving physician and the other one with involving patients as the main stakeholders, are compared to evaluate the effectiveness of the framework and to evaluate how the initiatives ranking orders will evolve based on the most and least disruptive scenarios for each cases. The framework is applied to realistic case studies on cardiac sarcoidosis, identifying success criteria, initiatives, emergent conditions, and the most and least disruptive scenarios. The success criteria align with the National Institute of Standards and Technology AI Risk Management Framework (NIST AI RMF) seven trustworthy AI characteristics. Finally, the framework identifies the most and least disruptive scenarios and the most important initiatives for both cases. Results show that Non-Interpretable AI and Lack of Human-AI Communications, Privacy Attacks, and Human Errors in Design, Develop, Measurement and Implementation are the most disruptive scenarios in both cases, however, scenario Cyber Security Threats also counted as other most disruptive scenarios to the initiatives ranked by patients. This adaptable framework has the potential not only to transfer findings to global healthcare systems but also to extend its effectiveness to various other domains, such as transportation, finance, environment, and design.
