The research introduces an innovative method for creating a digital twin (dT) of heat energy storage and retrieval system (HESrS) for real-time monitoring and performance analysis. The HESrS, type of HVAC system, is evaluated based on parameters like stored heat energy, heat extraction via heat transfer fluid (HTF), and Phase Change Material (PCM) temperatures. data from temperature sensors is sent to the cloud in real-time. A reduced-order model (rOM) analyses it on the cloud and sends results to an Android app. The dT is then simulated in augmented reality through our app, Twin-X, marking distinctive approach to digital twin development. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Now-a-days passwords are the most often used identity verification method in home security. However, its simplicity makes it open to imposters, including shoulder surfing, spyware, social engineering, and guessing. Combining biometric technology and passwords can enhance overall security. Biometrics are ideal for identity verification as they cannot be lost, stolen, or overheard. In the absence of physical harm, they provide a reliable method of verifying someone's identification. This project develops a security system using the Xilinx PYNQ-Z2 FPGA, interfacing with a camera module for facial recognition and GSM for alerting, employing Python for high-level control, OpenCV for image processing, and Arduino libraries for peripheral interactions, signaling authorized access with a green LEd and unauthorized entry with a red LEd. A radial grid mapping is then used to focus on the feature vector generated using nose within the circular boundary. The returned feature vector is scale-normalized with the predicted face size, determined by the breadth of the color segmented region. The feature vector is fed into a trained neural network classifier that can identify faces. The technique was tested with 20 people face as sample of various sizes and postures taken against a variety of complex backgrounds. despite all of these improvements, the face detector proved to be extremely durable. The face recognizer performed well, with the exception of sensitivity to small-scale face photos. © 2024 IEEE.

A review on ultra high-performance fibre-reinforced concrete with nanomaterials and its applications

Ultra high-performance concrete (UHPC) is an advanced concrete which exhibits a higher performance mostly in all aspects and has a compressive strength higher than 150 MPa. The paper reviews the usage of different types of fibres, nanomaterials, mineral admixtures, preparation techniques and the utilization of UHPC. Improved microstructure, reduced porosity and homogeneous mixing are the basic requirements of the UHPC design. Though UHPC helps in the preparation of structural members at lesser size, it requires an enormous amount of cement which is accountable for a huge CO2 emission, abrasion and cracks;hence, supplementary cementitious materials might be utilized as a limited alternative for cement without sacrificing the strength of concrete at lesser cost. The nanomaterials act as a nucleation site for the C-S–H gel formation by filling the voids and pores, thereby aiding to attain a denser microstructure for UHPC and also delaying the nucleation of the cracks at the nanoscale. The fibres used in the UHPC help in energy dissipation and also produce a bridging effect for micro- and macro-cracks. Based on the investigations, it has been found that the usage of medium hooked-end steel fibres and a hybrid combination of fibres with nanomaterials helps in improving several properties of the UHPC. © 2024, The Author(s).

Tomato plant which is scientifically called as Solanum lycopersicum, they are very important in global agriculture as food source. However, they are much known to blight diseases that they can severely impact on crop yields. These blight diseases are two types namely Early blight and Late blight. The accurate identification of blight disease is necessary for effective disease management and ensuring food security through the integration of machine learning. This paper presents an IoT system that incorporates several sensors to monitor environmental parameters, including accuracy and validation in real-time. These datasets are used to create a responsive and dynamic monitoring network for tomato plants. The high-resolution images of tomato leaves are captured by using enabled cameras. By taking help of Machine learning techniques like convolution neural networks (CNNs) and deep learning we can able to analyze the leaf images and identify early and late blight symptoms. The machine learning model provides the remarkable accuracy in between healthy leaves and those affected by blight and also categorize the level of the disease. © 2024 IEEE.

E-healthcare and mobile healthcare technologies have become increasingly important for efficient healthcare delivery in recent years due to the pandemic's needs for real-time data interchange. The electronic transfer of patient health records, including imaging reports, is made possible by the growing public networks connecting diagnostic labs and hospitals. However, this strategy is unsafe since outside attacks on public networks can expose private health information, leading to inaccurate diagnoses and treatments. To overcome such challenges, methods such as Medical Image Watermarking (MIW) and data encoding are employed to safeguard patient identities and identify instances of tampering. data security is crucial because outsourcing patient records and medical reports to servers exposes them to modification and illegal access. This study presents a new reversible watermarking technique with a large payload and minimal computational expenditure. It divides the medical image into a Border region (Br) and a Non-Border region (NBr). A pseudorandom key encrypts the Electronic Patient record (EPr), which is incorporated in the image after the NBr has been upscaled using Neighbor Mean Interpolation (NMI). The technique, which incorporates both local and global tamper detection, produces remarkable results with robustness against a range of threats and an average PSNr of 61.14 dB with average embedding and extraction times of 0.88 and 0.83 seconds, respectively, the approach is incredibly secure and effective, demonstrating its efficacy in comparison to contemporary, widely used techniques. © 2025 IEEE.

demolition wastes are produced in huge quantity. Generally, they are used in the construction field as replacement for normal aggregate, pavement, roadways, curbs, embankment, etc. still there are plenty of quantity to be used for various purposes. Landfill is a place where huge quantity of material is required as cover to protect the ground from contamination. In this paper optimal utilization of recycled Coarse Aggregate (rCA) as a landfill layer is explored. It was found that rCA lacks adsorbent capacity, in order to address the issue various chemicals were added to induce adsorbing capacity in the rCA. The pH observation, lucidity and color were analyzed to assess the adsorbent property of rCA. In this paper a study on various adsorbents such as activated carbon, silica gel powder, zeolite, sodium chloride, calcium sulphate, calcium chloride that induces adsorbing characteristics to rCA was studied. The pilot setup design consists of a layer of rCA, paper pulp, adsorbents and the unfiltered leachate. The setup was observed for the performance of the adsorbents when added with rCA. The study concluded that the performance of activated carbon, zeolite and sodium chloride was Congenial when compared to silica gel, calcium chloride and calcium sulphate. © 2023 The Authors

drilling is a critical step in the hole-making operation. It is quite beneficial for part assembly. Hard particulates introduced into the continuous phase of the composite materials, makes them hard to process. As a result, optimizing the drilling variables is inevitable. The primary goal of this study is to manufacture LM6/Fly Ash with weight percentages of fly ash 3, 6 and 9 adopting the stir casting technique. The second objective is to use Taguchi's design of Experiments (L27 OA) to drill composite materials using feed rate (F), spindle speed (S), drill material (d), and % of reinforcement (r) as drilling process variables at 3 levels. The ultimate goal is to optimize the drilling process variables for obtaining minimum thrust force (TF), surface roughness (Sr) and burr height (BH) using multi-objective Grey relational Analysis. The optimum process variable achieved is F1S3d3r3, i.e., 50 mm/min, 3000 rpm, TiN-coated drill bit and 9 wt% of fly ash. © 2022

Explores the utilization of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) for generating synthetic images to address challenges related to limited data availability and privacy concerns. GANs, trained on diverse datasets, are capable of producing high-fidelity images from random noise. For example, training a GAN on the MNIST dataset allows for the creation of digit images that closely resemble those in MNIST, which can then be used to train other neural networks. Our evaluations demonstrate that these synthetic images maintain high fidelity and are effective in various tasks, including classification and object detection. This highlights the potential of GANs for dataset augmentation and enhancement of model performance, providing a viable solution for expanding training datasets while preserving data privacy. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This research presents a novel, low-power, high-performance multiplier architecture that integrates a Modified Booth Encoder (MBE) with a Spurious Power Suppression technique (SPST). Multipliers are critical components in digital systems, and optimizing their power efficiency and speed is essential. The MBE reduces partial product generation, improving speed and power consumption. To further enhance power efficiency, we introduce an SPST to eliminate unnecessary power dissipation caused by spurious transitions. The proposed design incorporates modules for MBE, SPST, partial product generation, and accumulation. Experimental results demonstrate the significant power reduction achieved through the combined use of MBE and SPST, making the proposed architecture suitable for power-constrained digital signal processing applications. © 2024 IEEE.

This research presents an effort to minimize the energy consumption of sensor nodes inside a wireless sensor network (WSN). Cluster-based routing is one result of extensive research on the issue of node energy conservation. Fuzzy logic is used in this work to pick cluster heads (CHs). The design's simulation results are further contrasted, taking into account the number of rounds required for the first node to go down and the network lifetime, with other well-known protocols in this cate-gory. The effectiveness of the suggested design is demonstrated by this comparison, which may spark additional interest in the creation of more effective procedures. © 2024 IEEE.
