There has been a rapid expansion of the use of biodiesel globally. It is consequently critical to have a comprehensive understanding of how biodiesel influences diesel engine emissions. Using mono-alkyl ester fatty acids of long-chain fatty acids as a renewable feedstock, biodiesel may be produced. Various oils and fats are sometimes used to fuel compression-ignition engines, such as animal fat and vegetable oils. An examination of several biodiesel production parameters was undertaken during the first phase of this research. An examination of blends of clean diesel fuel and biodiesel followed the first phase of the study. Transesterification is the process used to make biodiesel. Cottonseed oil is selected because of its excellent transesterification properties. The catalyst, methanol, or ethanol utilised during transesterification has an impact on biodiesel production. The presented in this article are the ideal conditions for biodiesel production. An optimal yield of 76% of biodiesel can be achieved by combining 20% methanol with 0.5% sodium hydroxide. Experiments with various biodiesel mixes revealed that they lowered particle and smoke emissions while also lowering carbon monoxide levels. In contrast, for biodiesel mixtures, emissions of oxides of nitrogen were increased slightly. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Speech signal enhancement has become a popular study area during the past few years. A plethora of techniques have been developed to improve the perceptibility and quality of speech signals. These techniques are frequently designed to restore the original signal from noise-damaged data. The wavelet transforms are commonly employed for processing speech signals. This research work proposes an Adaptive Harmonic plus Noise Model (A-HNM) analysis for removing the noise in speech signals. Initially, the speech signals from standard datasets are gathered and further, decomposed with the Empirical Mean Curve decomposition (EMCd) technique. Then, the noise reduction is made over the decomposed signals with the help of A-HNM analysis, where the HNM parameters are tuned with the red deer Algorithm (rdA) to reduce the noise in the damaged speech signal and improve the performance. Additionally, the post-processing using wiener filtering is performed to increase the efficacy of standard improvement approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

An increased power factor (PF) frontend battery is used to design a new Electric Vehicle (EV) charger in this paper. In general, diode Bridge rectifier (dBr) is used for generating current with low harmonics, but due to its excessive conduction loss, a Modified Landsman converter is established. Power Factor Correction (PFC) is recommended using a Landsman converter with a Bridgeless (BL) architecture for low power applications. The proposed converter solves various Power Quality (PQ) issues like, fluctuations, harmonics, device stress and current ripples. In the proposed work, EV battery which is a non-linear load causes PQ troubles on the input side resulting in input supply deterioration. To make the supply stable, the suggested converter adopts an Artificial Neural Network (ANN) controller. The minimized error from the ANN controller is fed to the PWM generator through which the distortions gets eliminated and a stabilized supply with unity PF operation is obtained. The entire work for enhancing PQ through Bridgeless Modified Landsman Converter (BLML) is carried out in MATLAB and simulation responses are obtained. © 2023 IEEE.

The shrimp export industry in India, valued at over 23 thousand crores, faces challenges due to the high-risk, high-reward nature of shrimp farming and the demanding monitoring requirements it entails. Existing automation and IoT solutions often struggle to effectively monitor the diverse marine, brackish, and freshwater environments crucial for shrimp cultivation. This paper introduces the aqua buoy, a specialized monitoring system designed specifically for shrimp farming environments. Alongside detailing the aqua buoy's functionality, the paper discusses its utility in monitoring various diseases that afflict shrimp cultivation. Furthermore, it explores how farmers are tackling these challenges through enhanced biosecurity measures, selective breeding programs, and sustainable practices. Offering insights into Litopenaeus vannamei shrimp farming, the article sheds light on the industry's evolution, current hurdles, and promising prospects for aquaculture's future. With its swift response times, continuous monitoring capabilities, and over 98% accuracy rate in real-time environments, the aqua buoy leverages a machine learning-based approach for sensor calibration, ensuring optimal performance in shrimp farming operations. ©2024 IEEE.

Nowadays crop recommendation systems face many obstacles in recommending suitable crops. A main challenge that has to be encounter is changes in environmental conditions and handling diverse dataset like soil and climate oriented dataset. Existing algorithm's like decision tree, random forest have limitations in adapting to local variability. To overcome this and to enhance the agricultural activities, this paper presents an innovative crop recommendation system based on threshold (CrST) values, through which crops are chosen by considering properties of soil, climatic parameters, and season factors such as Kharif, rabi, and Zaid. Critical limit threshold values are set for most important features like fertility of soil, nutrition of the soil, pH, temperature, humidity, and rainfall to ensure optimal growth conditions. In order to recommend the suitable crop, a rule-based decision-fusion method is tied with confidence level analysis. To evaluate the effectiveness of the threshold method, ordinary least squares (OLS) regression is used. CrST model achieves an accuracy of 90% compared to existing algorithms. Integration of seasonal adaptation and threshold determination greatly enhances crop management decision-making and provides a strong answer to agricultural problems. © 2025 IEEE.

Thermal power station performs a crucial function in generation of power. The furnace burns coal to produce heat energy. In order to reduce fuel waste, combustion quality is essential. Flame image monitoring system is crucial in assessing the quality of combustion because the price of fossil fuels is higher. The primary focus of this effort aims at determining the flame temperature and its corresponding fuel flow of a combustion flame captured online in video using two external cameras. Those videos are fused to create a single image frame. Pre-processing technique median filtering is executed and approximation wavelet transformation is applied to improve image quality and recover weak signals from noise. To increase efficiency and accuracy, the image is segmented using fuzzy k-means clustering. discrete Fourier Transformation (dFT) is then applied to the clustered image to obtain integer values in pixel form. Finally the combustion flame temperature and its fuel flow will be determined using machine learning algorithm CNN (Conventional Neural Network). © 2023 IEEE.

Abrasive Water Jet machining (AWJM) is one of the most prominent non-traditional machining processes in manufacturing as its ability to machine a variety of materials including ceramics and hard metals without developing any thermal stresses over the target materials. However, the accuracy of the machined materials is challenging to predict due to the lack of study of the machining parameters. In addition, the machining cost is restricted to conduct the real time experiments with different combinations. Therefore, in this research work Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) coupled Finite Element Analysis method is used to examine the effect of change in velocity and stand-off distance on hole diameter and shear stress on Nickel-based superalloys while piercing small holes using the AWJ. In this work, the abrasives and waterjet features are modeled using SPH, and the Finite Element Analysis (FEM) is used to model the target material. A contact called "ErOdING_NOdES_TO_SUrFACE" is set between the workpiece material and SPH particles to simulate the AWJ machining and a software package called LS-dYNA is used to perform the whole simulation. The results of this study bring the suitable parameter settings to produce the quality holes in nickel-based superalloys by using the AWJ with piercing mode. © 2022

The term 'lifetime' is used to describe how long a wireless sensor node will continue to function after its power supply has been depleted. Since battery replacement is typically not an option in scenarios involving wireless sensor networks, it is helpful to build an energy-efficient protocol for usage in such systems. Thus, a great deal of research has gone into finding ways to prolong the usefulness of networks. Consequently, clustering is a helpful strategy for dividing the network into sections called clusters and delegating energy-wasting tasks (such as data collection, aggregation, and routing to the sink) to a subset of nodes. The proposed protocol uses optimal clustering in multipath and multi-hop topologies to reduce power consumption and expand wireless sensor networks. It is suggested that, in a circular area around a sink, optimal multi-hop communications should be used instead of one-hop communications. By dividing the network into clusters of roughly identical size, the ideal number of clusters may be calculated, resulting in reduced energy use. The simulation results have demonstrated an extended network lifetime in comparison to alternative clustering strategies. © 2023 IEEE.

The combination of cubic fuzzy graphs and fuzzy graph structures, the cubic fuzzy graph structure specializes for handling complicated issues, particularly those involving many interactions. This type of fuzzy graph properties and their technique for determining the vertex degree support both fuzzy membership and interval-valued fuzzy membership simultaneously. To improve the representation of uncertainty and higher-order membership degrees, the idea of cubic fuzzy sets recently been introduced as an extension to standard fuzzy sets, which provides a novel method for handling them. The improved quality life of many people in this developed world attracted them to driving more vehicles. Because of this, petroleum-based fuels are expensive and keep on going up every day. Using alternative fuel concepts will help to meet these demands. Jojoba oil is investigated as an alternate fuel for diesel engines. This study aims to determine how much jojoba oil can replace the diesel in all modes of operation in a CI engine to achieve maximum savings. The performance, combustion and emission characteristics of jojoba-biodiesel blends were studied in CI engines. In the experiment work, it was observed that 30.0% of the jojoba oil used in CI engines could be the maximum permissible proportion. The studies have shown that using 30% jojoba oil with diesel fuel results in 3% more BTE, 4% lower CO, 8% lower HC, 4.6% higher NOx, and 15% less smoke. BTE is higher, CO is lower, HC is lower and NOx Smoke is higher compared with standard jojoba oil (100% jojoba oil). A jojoba-diesel blend with a content of more than 30% performed well and had acceptable emissions. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
