Fabrication and microstructural characterization of MgO composites for biomedical applications using the bottom pour stir casting process

Magnesium oxide (MgO) has caught the attention of researchers to use it as a replacement for common 316L stainless steel in the biomedical field since it is a biocompatible and biodegradable metal. MgO and Tricalcium Phosphate (TCP) were mixed in various combinations to make MgO composites using the bottom pour stir casting method. Three samples were fabricated at 960 °C and extruded as rods: sample1 was a MgO alloy, sample2 was a MgO with 5 wt% of TCP, and sample3 was a MgO with 10 wt% of TCP. For Scanning Electron Microscope, hardness testing, and microstructure analysis, rods were chopped into billets, and the results were compared. Of three composites, Sample3 of (90 wt% of MgO + 10 wt% of TCP) shows better results than other samples and alloy. Magnesium composites containing 10 % TCP had a better microstructure, and a higher hardness value, indicating that they might be used as biodegradable materials in the biomedical field. © 2022

This project helps to make driving safer by detecting and responding to obstructions automatically. It has ultrasonic sensors that are used in continuously monitoring the car's distance with any objects or obstacles. The system applies the braking mechanism, when it detects an obstacle at a predetermined safe distance, either slowing down or stopping the vehicle hence avoiding accidents. real time data handling and decision making of the intelligent braking system ensures the overall road safety. This technology is aimed at reducing road accidents, enhancing overall road safety. This system is designed to enhance vehicle safety by automatically detecting and responding to obstacles. It uses ultrasonic sensors to continuously monitor the distance between the vehicle and potential obstructions. The intelligent braking system incorporates real-time data processing and decision-making to ensure accurate and timely responses. © 2025 IEEE.

Preparation of Zinc Oxide nanoparticle (ZnONPs)-Chitosan nanoparticle (CSNPs)-Alginate Scaffold for biological applications

In the present study, an aqueous extract of the plant Azadirachta indica was used to synthesize zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnONPs) and chitosan nanoparticles (CSNPs). Both nanoparticles were subjected to Fourier infrared (FTIr) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (Xrd), Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) with Energy-dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EdX), dynamic light scattering (dLS) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) for characterization. FTIr analysis reveals distinct peaks corresponding to different functional groups in each material. The Xrd spectra confirms the semi-crystalline structure of CSNPs and the amorphous character of ZnONPs, while SEM analysis shows rod shaped morphology for both nanoparticles. dLS analysis provides insights into the size distributions of synthesized ZnONPs and CSNPs. Evaluation of toxicity demonstrates concentration-dependent effects on zebrafish embryos, highlighting the importance of nanoparticle concentrations in biological applications. Antioxidant activity assays reveal potent scavenging properties of ZnONPs and CSNPs, with the scaffold showing slightly lower activity. Mechanical testing demonstrates the robustness of the Alginate-ZnONPs-CSNPs scaffold, and TGA analysis elucidates its thermal behavior. The prepared Scaffold should be studied in animal models in the near future for various biomedical applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The purpose of this research was to improve the safety and performance by reducing the weight of the on-road vehicles with the utilization of reinforced sandwich composite material in automotive doors and panels. By this research conducted, the vehicle guarantees safety, since the dominant force works on bumpers and doors at the moment of impact and the possibility that sandwich panels will be put within the passenger seat, meaning that the safety of the user will be improved and the impact will be maximized. From the results, mechanical vibrations frequencies of Nomex, polyurethane and polypropylene honeycomb core structures showed 10% deviation when compared with the experimental results. With the implementation of the proposed sandwich panel in various automotive components, the vehicle weight will gradually be reduced, which ensures that the vehicles performance improves naturally. © The Institution of Engineers (India) 2023.

Federated Learning (FL) has evolved into a decentralized Machine Learning (ML) paradigm with a high potential for enabling model training across various Edge devices (Ed) to conserve data privacy. This survey explores the challenges and future directions of implementing FL in edge computing environments. This Comprehensive review addresses key technical challenges, including the heterogeneity of edge devices, resource constraints, security and privacy concerns, and communication overhead. To guide future research, this study highlights several promising research directions, including advanced model aggregation techniques, edge device optimization, cross-domain federated learning applications, robust security and privacy frameworks, and regulatory compliance. Additionally, This study reviews various Federated Learning methods-such as Federated Averaging (FedAvg), Federated Learning with Secure Aggregation (FedSecAgg), Hierarchical Federated Learning, and Peer-to-Peer Federated Learning-discussing their strengths, weaknesses, and suitable use cases. Finally, this review paper presents benchmarking results using standard datasets and performance metrics, comparing these approaches' efficiency, accuracy, scalability, and privacy preservation. This systematic review renders a broad perspective on the current trends and developments in federated Learning for edge computing, this analysis enlightenments researchers and Professionals with practical experience. © 2024 IEEE.

Over the decades, breast cancer has played distressing metamorphoses due to the vigorous increase in successive rates of malignancy among the women's community. As per the medical statistics, breast cancer became the second leading life-threatening cancer next to lung cancer. However, the survival rate of the cancer patients could be increased up to 10 years, provided the disease has been identified at an initial stage. Imaging plays a crucial role for breast cancer screening, and those images are more likely degraded by noises such as electromagnetic radiation (EMr), electronic noises, and environmental noises. This makes the oncology experts very challenging to identify the precise tumor location in medical images. Hence, this research mainly focuses on denoising the EMr noises of different intensity levels, such as 0.01, 0.05, 0.1, and 0.2, using the improved Kuan adaptive spatial filter (IKASF) in the mammogram, ultrasound, and histopathology images. In order to analyze the image quality of the denoised image, the parameters such as mean square error (MSE), peak signal to noise ratio (PSNr), and structural similarity index (SSIM) have been measured and compared with the other modality images. The study reveals that the proposed filter improves the quality measures on sample multimodal images around 90%, 50.5%, and 80%, respectively, in comparison with the linear and nonlinear denoising techniques such as mean, median, gaussian, bilateral guided median (BGM), and kuan. The enhanced images using IKASF could be used to develop the artificial intelligence model for the automated process of tumor segmentation and classification problem, thereby improving the false positive and false negative ratios during the clinical trials. © 2025 IEEE.

Position sensitive device(PSd)sensor is a vital optical element that is mainly used in tracking systems for visible light communication(VLC).recently,a new reconfigurable PSd architecture *** proposed architecture makes the PSd perform more functions by modifying its *** the PSd is mainly formed of an array of *** primary concept involves employing transistors to alternate between the operating modes of the photodiodes(photoconductive and photovoltaic).Additionally,alternating among output pins can be done based on the required *** paper presents the mathematical modeling and simulation of a reconfigurable-multifunctional optical sensor which can perform energy harvesting and data acquisition,as well as positioning,which is not available in the traditional *** using the MATLAB software tool was achieved to demonstrate the *** simulation results confirmed the validity of the mathematical modeling and proved that the modified sensor architecture,as depicted by the equations,accurately describes its *** proposed sensor is expected to extend the battery's lifecycle,reduce its physical size,and increase the integration and functionality of the *** presented sensor might be used in free space optical(FSO)communication like cube satellites or even in underwater wireless optical communication(UWOC).

Quantum computing is a fascinating and rapidly evolving field of technology that promises to revolutionize many areas of science, engineering, and society. The fundamental unit of quantum computing is the quantum bit that can exist in two or more states concurrently, as opposed to a classical bit that can only be either 0 or 1. Any subatomic element, including atoms, electrons, and photons, can be used to implement qubits. The chosen sub-atomic elements should have quantum mechanical properties. Most commonly, photons have been used to implement qubits. Qubits can be manipulated and read by applying external fields or pulses, such as lasers, magnets, or microwaves. Quantum computers are currently suffering from various complications such as size, operating temperature, coherence problems, entanglement, etc. The realization of quantum computing, a novel paradigm that uses quantum mechanical phenomena to do computations that are not possible with classical computers, is made possible, most crucially, by the need for a quantum processor and a quantum SOC. As a result, Cryo-CMOS technology can make it possible to integrate a Quantum system on a chip. during natural disasters, breakdowns in the infrastructure based communication systems often hinder emergency response efforts, leading to loss of life. To address this challenge, we propose an emergency communication system utilizing Lora modules, capable of operating without cellular towers or base stations. Our system aims to provide fast and reliable communication in challenging environments where infrastructure is compromised. By efficiently connecting victims with emergency management organizations, the system increases the likelihood of saving lives and facilitates faster rescue operations. Users can connect to this network to exchange information and access vital services. The system also includes emergency services integration, enabling coordination and data dissemination during critical moments. Key features of the system include real-time communication, data sharing, and location tracking, enhancing situational awareness and aiding in rescue efforts. Overall, the designed emergency communication system offers a comprehensive solution to address communication challenges during disasters. Its adaptability and resilience make it suitable for various emergency scenarios, ranging from natural disasters to large-scale accidents.
