Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most ordinary kind of dementia. Identifying genes associated with AD is a new topic, and the key is to design algorithm to search AD genes. Gene order is a permutation of genes in which similar genes are ordered together. In this paper, a function is defined on gene order, and function value measures the similarity degree between a gene and its neighbors. Through the function value, the neighbors of a gene can be identified. The genes keeping as neighbor of AD gene (APOE, presenilins 1 or 2) at any stage (control, incipient, moderate, severe) are identified as the candidate of the gene associated with AD, where AD gene has been proved acting risk factor of AD. Experiment results of this paper have been proved some genes associated with AD.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia, little is known about its complicated mechanisms. To deeply understand its mechanisms, DNA microarray expression profiling and its analysis appears particularly promising. In this paper, the correlation of the DNA microarray expression data which is downloaded from GEO Datasets, NCBI [1], is analyzed via Principal Component Analysis (PCA), the character of strong linear correlation is observed. And this character implies that the information of gene co-regulation is mapped into the compactness of clustering of expression data possibly (i.e., all data clustering tightly in different classes). Thus, through the computerized compactness, the potential co-regulated genes can be identified.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia. One of the research topics is to identify the genes associated with AD through analyzing DNA microarray data by computation. Holding view of vertex coloring of graph theory, in this paper, a new clustering method named vertex coloring clustering (VCC) is presented. VCC is specified for gene clustering, which makes similar gene expression cluster tightly in same class and they share same gene characteristics or function. So, VCC can be also used to identify the genes associated with AD. Using VCC, 27 candidate AD genes are identified in this paper, and 5 genes agree with other men's study.

We present a scheme to realize a large cross-phase-modulation between two slow optical pulses by using the atomic configurations of coupled double dark resonances. In this scheme slow group velocities for these optical pulses can be automatically equalized in terms of the inherent symmetric atomic configuration, and the various absorptions can be overcome by using three-photon hyper-Raman amplification. Additionally, the switching between cross-type nonlinear amplification and absorption could be realized by just changing the sign of the difference between two pump detunings. This is useful for the implementations of all-optical switches. The linearity and cross nonlinearity in the Doppler-broadened medium with different laser propagating configurations have also been investigated.
