The model-driven engineering paradigm is a paradigm that combines the power of concepts and its relations, using abstracts models in order to offer suitable mechanisms for software development. In fact, software engineering community has applied MDE in different contexts of software engineering, getting suitable results. Despite these mechanisms, both global coordination and effective management of big software projects are not always easy task. Lack in communication lines, configuration plan execution and risky management are activities that have been executed by development teams in order to assure the quality of results, an essential point for a project to succeed. Although the Model-Driven paradigm is being accepted in the research environment as a very useful and powerful option for effective software development, its real application in the enterprise context is still a challenge for software engineering. Several causes can be stacked out, but one of them can be the lack of tool support for the efficient application of this paradigm. This paper presents a set of tools, grouped in a suite named NDT-Suite, which under the Model-Driven paradigm offer a suitable solution for software development. These tools explore different options that this paradigm can improve such as, development, quality assurance or requirement treatment. Besides, this paper analyses how they are being successfully applied in the industry.

Managing documentation in a suitable way has become a critical issue for any organization. Organizations depend on the information?they store and they are required to have appropriate mechanisms to support the functional needs of information storage, management and retrieval. Currently, there are several tools in the market, both free software and proprietary license, normally named Enterprise Content Management (ECM) tools, which offer relevant solutions in this context. This paper presents a comparative study among several of the most commonly used ECM tools. It starts with a systematic review of the literature to analyze possible solutions and then it defines a characterization schema instantiated in a particular case, the Regional Government of Andalusia.

In healthcare institutions it is important to define methodologies and management strategies in order to define, maintain and execute Healthcare Processes (HP) in a simple and effective manner. These needs are necessary because this kind of processes involve many people (software engineer, healthcare teams, and doctors, among others) and must also comply with lots of international clinical standards (such as ISO-EN 13606 or ISO/DIS 13940). This paper presents a formal demonstration of our proposal which is based on the Model-Driven paradigm in order to support modeling, deploying and executing HP. Our tool-based proposal allows reducing costs, improving quality and optimizing HP taking into account the Model-Driven paradigm advantages.
