本文利用耦合地球气候系统模式研究了青藏高原对热带辐合带(ITCZ)的影响.我们研究发现热带大西洋ITCZ的位置对青藏高原存在与否有明显的敏感性.与目前真实情况相比,移除青藏高原会导致北半球海面降温,南半球海面升温.这种海面温度变化在大西洋表现得尤为明显,导致热带大西洋最大海温中心向南移动,从而迫使大气对流中心向南移动,即表现为ITCZ的南移.相应地,夏季热带大气Hadley环流的上升支也发生明显南移.北(南)半球海洋变冷(变暖)这种态势要求增强跨赤道向北的大气经向热量输送,从而维持各个半球的能量平衡,而这需要ITCZ位置的南移才能实现.本文研究表明,青藏高原的存在在现今ITCZ气候态的形成中可能扮演了重要角色.

To enhance the privacy of messages in Internet of Vehicles (IoVs), it is critical to preserve the communication security between Road Side Unit (RSU) and numerous vehicles. The primitive of signcryption is introduced to guarantee the confidentiality, integrity and unforgeability of transmitted messages. Nevertheless, the existing signcryption schemes fail to achieve a balance between security and efficiency. In this paper, we construct a Chinese remainder theorem (CRT) empowered certificateless aggregate signcryption scheme with key agreement (CASKA-CRT). As the vehicle joins and leaves dynamically, the proposed scheme can ensure the dynamic security via one modulo division operation. Besides, the certificateless aggregate signcryption and key agreement mechanisms are embedded. The former idea can both address the certificate management and key escrow problems, while the latter technology can create authentication as a premise of secure communication. Based on this construction, the hash-to-group operation and bilinear pairing are avoided, to realize a faster verification with the increased number of messages. Moreover, the security of proposed scheme is proved under the random oracle model. Finally, the performance analysis demonstrates the advantage of CASKA-CRT in terms of security and reliability over related works. IEEE

With the growing environmental concern, the demand for electric vehicle is increasing in India. However, the limited existing charging facilities slow down the rate of adoption in the market. Presently, the solar-based charging system is gaining popularity, due to its low greenhouse gas emission. In this study, a case study for different solar charging systems suited in Delhi is presented. The economic and environmental analysis of different solar-based EV charging systems utilized for charging three types of commercial EVs such as 2, 3, and 4-W is explained. The cost of energy required for 100 km drive is lower with vehicle integrating PV charging system;however, it can act as a supportive system for driving range improvement. The analysis shows that the economically solar rooftop charging system is suitable for all types of EVs. The CO2 emission produced by all types of solar-based EV charging systems is lower than coal-based charging systems. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2021.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a type of dementia that leads to memory loss and impairment, which afects patients’ lives badly. It is not curable yet, but its progression can be slowed down if detected at earlier stages. In this research study, we propose a transfer learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) model to classify magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) into one of four stages of Alzheimer's disease. One of the major limitations of the deep learning-based classification model is the non-availability of healthcare datasets related to AD. The widely used Alzheimer's Disease Neuroimaging Initiative (ADNI) dataset has a major class imbalance issue. We propose a generative adversarial network (GAN) based data augmentation technique to overcome the data imbalance. This promotes the investigation of applying GANs to generate synthetic samples for minority classes in Alzheimer's disease datasets to enhance classification performance. The results show the progression in the overall classification process of AD.

Imagined speech production with electrocorticography (ECoG) plays a crucial role in brain-computer interface system. A challenging issue is the great variation underlying the frequency bands of the ECoG signals’ encode information, which makes current methods difficult to generate imagined speech with stable quality among different persons. To this end, we propose a robust model to generate high-quality imagined speech from ECoG. A frequency enhancement branch is first designed to adaptively modulate the frequency information, whose product is fed into the following multi-scale channel attention module for robust feature extraction and fusion. By incorporating both the mel-spectrum and audio as training constraints, a multi-constraint decoder branch is finally constructed for imagined speech production. The performance of our model is evaluated on a high-quality dateset, i.e, Single Word Production Dutch-iBIDS. It yields Pearson correlation scores that are all above 0.8, and the standard deviationsare are all below 0.2 in different volunteers. Experimental results demonstrate that our model is effective and robust for ECoG based imagined speech production, and has advantages over peer methods.

Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controllers achieve higher importance due to the high expansion rate of photovoltaic systems. The probability of partial shading conditions (PSCs) is also increased which drastically reduced the maximum power extraction capability from PV systems. In this paper, different types of MPPT algorithms using direct control method have been examined under the same test conditions. The current research trend on MPPT controllers has also been highlighted. Deployment of polar codes for mission-critical machine-type communication over wireless networks

Mission critical Machine-type Communication (mcMTC), also referred to as Ultra-reliable Low Latency Communication (URLLC), has become a research hotspot. It is primarily characterized by communication that provides ultra-high reliability and very low latency to concurrently transmit short commands to a massive number of connected devices. While the reduction in physical (PHY) layer overhead and improvement in channel coding techniques are pivotal in reducing latency and improving reliability, the current wireless standards dedicated to support mcMTC rely heavily on adopting the bottom layers of general-purpose wireless standards and customizing only the upper layers. The mcMTC has a significant technical impact on the design of all layers of the communication protocol stack. In this paper, an innovative bottom-up approach has been proposed for mcMTC applications through PHY layer targeted at improving the transmission reliability by implementing ultra-reliable channel coding scheme in the PHY layer of IEEE 802.11a standard bearing in mind short packet transmission system. To achieve this aim, we analyzed and compared the channel coding performance of convolutional codes (CCs), low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes, and polar codes in wireless network on the condition of short data packet transmission. The Viterbi decoding algorithm (VA), logarithmic belief propagation (Log-BP) algorithm, and cyclic redundancy check (CRC) successive cancellation list (SCL) (CRC-SCL) decoding algorithm were adopted to CC, LDPC codes, and polar codes, respectively. Consequently, a new PHY layer for mcMTC has been proposed. The reliability of the proposed approach has been validated by simulation in terms of Bit error rate (BER) and packet error rate (PER) ***-to-noise ratio (SNR). Traditionally, infrastructural architects and road design have independently analyzed respective subsystems' needs in customary transportation. The two's inability to cooperate has culminated in possible safety issues, lousy road congestion, and unnecessary resource utilization. Moreover, challenges concerning sensor arrangement, data collecting, wireless communications, multi-source data fusion, analytical methodologies, and the development of decision-making processes might occur when cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems are used. In recent decades, Cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems(CVIS) have been suggested to assure intelligent transportation's effectiveness, effectiveness, and durability by integrating cars and infrastructures. A cooperative vehicle infrastructure system represents a novel business structure linked to businesses like autos, semiconductors, relevant information, and road infrastructure. Informatics, machine intelligence, telecommunications, data fusion, and intelligent monitoring are all included in this domain. Recent generations of networking technologies are pushing the boundaries of what became achievable utilizing cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems. Especially cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems, such instance, factory automation, Mixed Reality, and Touchscreen Network need ultra-low delay evaluated in single-digit milliseconds and cannot accept any fluctuation. Higher financial literacy requires an increased cloudification of application scenarios that require precise service level requirements for cooperative vehicle infrastructure systems. In mobile edge computing (MEC), task offloading can significantly reduce task execution latency and energy consumption of end user (EU). However, edge server (ES) resources are limited, necessitating efficient allocation to ensure the sustainable and healthy development for MEC systems. In this paper, we propose a dynamic pricing mechanism based near-optimal resource allocation for elastic edge offloading. First, we construct a resource pricing model and accordingly develop the utility functions for both EU and ES, the optimal pricing model parameters are derived by optimizing the utility functions. In the meantime, our theoretical analysis reveals that the EU’s utility function reaches a local maximum within the search range, but exhibits barely growth with increased resource allocation beyond this point. To this end, we further propose the Dynamic Inertia and Speed-Constrained particle swarm optimization (DISC-PSO) algorithm, which efficiently identifies the near-optimal resource allocation. Comprehensive simulation results validate the effectiveness of DISC-PSO, demonstrating that it significantly outperforms existing schemes by reducing the average number of iterations to reach a near-optimal solution by 92.11%, increasing the final user utility function value by 0.24%, and decreasing the variance of results by 95.45%. A Fuzzy Delphi Based Inference system for Detecting and Controlling Rice Weeds

In this research, the purpose was to design a fuzzy expert system based on fuzzy delphi method to detect and control the rice weed. The statistical population was elites and experts with regard to the science, experience and field of activity;15 experts were selected as the sample. Two questionnaires were used to design the desired fuzzy expert: i) Fuzzy Delphi Technique Weed Detection Questionnaire, ii) Delphi Technique Weed Control Questionnaire. The design of the desired expert system was done with MATLAB software and the fuzzy logic tool box. That is, after obtaining an appropriate range of factors, through attributing the fuzzy trapezoidal membership functions to these ranges and generating the input functions, designing the rule base of this system and combining the output results of each factor, a system was designed whose input was the weed factor and the output was scores assigned to weeds. MATLAB guide was also used to design the graphical user interface. Then, for validation the designed system was tested. The answers of system and individual expert were then analyzed using paired t-test. Root Mean Square Error and Middle Absolute Value Deviation tests were used to calculate the system errors. The results were 0.12 and 0.01, respectively. This indicates that the designed fuzzy expert system has sufficient accuracy. Finally, given that all but two of the examined rules are the same as the diagnosis of an individual expert, then in 94% of the cases, the diagnosis of the system is the same as the diagnosis of an individual expert. © 2021, CC BY.
