Decentralized Cooperation Strategies in Two-Dimensional Traffic of Cellular Automata

We study the two-dimensional traffic of cellular automata using computer simulation. We propose two type of decentralized cooperation strategies, which are called stepping aside (CS-SA) and choosing alternative routes (CS-CAR) respectively. We introduce them into an existing two-dimensional cellular automata (CA) model. CS-SA is designed to prohibit a kind of ping-pong jump when two objects standing together try to move in opposite directions. CS-CAR is designed to change the solution of conflict in parallel update. CS-CAR encourages the objects involved in parallel conflicts choose their alternative routes instead of waiting. We also combine the two cooperation strategies (CS-SA-CAR) to test their combined effects. It is found that the system keeps on a partial jam phase with nonzero velocity and flow until the density reaches one. The ratios of the ping-pong jump and the waiting objects involved in conflict are decreased obviously, especially at the free phase. And the average flow is improved by the three cooperation strategies. Although the average travel time is lengthened a bit by CS-CAR, it is shorten by CS-SA and CS-SA-CAR. In addition, we discuss the advantage and applicability of decentralized cooperation modeling.

Cross-domain text classification aims to automatically train a precise text classifier for a target domain by using labeled text data from a related source domain. To this end, the distribution gap between different domains has to be reduced. In previous works, a certain number of shared latent features (e.g., latent topics, principal components, etc.) are extracted to represent documents from different domains, and thus reduce the distribution gap. However, only relying the shared latent features as the domain bridge may limit the amount of knowledge transferred. This limitation is more serious when the distribution gap is so large that only a small number of latent features can be shared between domains. In this paper, we propose a novel approach named Topic Correlation Analysis (TCA), which extracts both the shared and the domain-specific latent features to facilitate effective knowledge transfer. In TCA, all word features are first grouped into the shared and the domain-specific topics using a joint mixture model. Then the correlations between the two kinds of topics are inferred and used to induce a mapping between the domain-specific topics from different domains. Finally, both the shared and the mapped domain-specific topics are utilized to span a new shared feature space where the supervised knowledge can be effectively transferred. The experimental results on two real-world data sets justify the superiority of the proposed method over the stat-of-the-art baselines. A trajectory generator based on vehicle kinematics model was presented and an integrated navigation simulation system was *** that the tight relation between vehicle motion and topography,a new trajectory generator for vehicle was proposed for more actual ***,a vehicle kinematics model was built based on conversion of attitude vector in different coordinate ***,the principle of common trajectory generators was ***,combining the vehicle kinematics model with the principle of dead reckoning,a new vehicle trajectory generator was presented,which can provide process parameters of carrier anytime and achieve simulation of typical actions of running ***,IMU(inertial measurement unit) elements were simulated,including accelerometer and *** setting up the simulation conditions,the integrated navigation simulation system was verified by final performance *** result proves the validity and flexibility of this design.

Cloud Computing has emerged as a resource sharing platform, which allows different service providers to deliver software as services. However, for many security sensitive applications such as critical data processing and e-business, we must provide necessary security protection for mitigating the threats in the shared open cloud infrastructures. In this paper, we propose a software watermark enhanced platform to assure that only the software with authorized watermark is allowed to run on the platform. Experimental results show that our architecture could provide a great protection with a small overhead. © 2012 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.

Private health information once confined to local medical institutions is migrating onto the Internet as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) that is accessed by cloud computing. No matter where it is hosted, health data is subject to security breaches, privacy abuses, and access control violations. However, novel technologies have new vulnerabilities, and allow new mitigations. In this paper, we propose a watermarking method in the architecture of cloud computing, to mitigate the risks of insider disclosures. Our design and preliminary implementation are accomplished by exploiting the MapReduce mechanism in the cloudlet we built. Our evaluation shows that our proposal addresses all of the requirements of the Cloud Oriented Architecture (COA) framework of the Jericho Forum. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, a genetic clustering algorithm is described that uses a new similarity measure based message passing between data points and the candidate centers described by the chromosome. In the new algorithm, a variable-length real-value chromosome representation and a set of problem-specific evolutionary operators are used. Therefore, the proposed GA with message-based similarity (GAMS) clustering algorithm is able to automatically evolve and find the optimal number of clusters as well as proper clusters of the data set. Effectiveness of GAMS clustering algorithm is demonstrated for both artificial and real-life data set. Experiment results demonstrated that the GAMS clustering algorithm has high performance, effectiveness and flexibility. © 2011 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Rough set theory provides a methodology for data analysis based on the approximation of information systems. It is revolves around the notion of discernibility i.e. the ability to distinguish between objects based on their attributes value. It allows inferring data dependencies that are useful in the fields of feature selection and decision model construction. Since it is proven that every rough set is a soft set, therefore, within the context of soft sets theory, we present a soft set-based framework for partition attribute selection. The paper unifies existing work in this direction, and introduces the concepts of maximum attribute relative to determine and rank the attribute in the multi-valued information system. Experimental results demonstrate the potentiality of the proposed technique to discover the attribute subsets, leading to partition selection models which better coverage and achieve lower computational time than that the baseline techniques. © 2012 Springer-Verlag.

In recent mobile robotics fields, much attention has been focused on hybrid control methods consisting of local reactive control and deliberative control for global navigation in large unknown environments. In this paper, an improved hierarchical Q-learning algorithm with quantum parallelization computation is proposed for mobile-robot global navigation. The learning process consists of two learning levels for local navigation and topological navigation, respectively. The hierarchial Q-learning bridges these two learning levels with quantum parallelization to combine the learning process into an integral one and speed up the whole learning process as well. Hence the improved hierarchial Q-learning method learns faster and can scale up very well. The results of several group of experiments show the success of the presented approach. © 2012 IEEE.
