In this paper, we quantify the interactive pattern between two time series: the number of users (NoU) representing user’s activity (UA) and downlink traffic load (DTL) generated from the base station (BS). We model the characteristics of UA, and use K-means clustering algorithm to characterize the hidden spatial association pattern in the wireless cellular system. The results show that (1) there is a strong linear interaction between UA and DTL;(2) the NoU has a strong weekdays and weekends mode. (3) the results of clustering well match the reference scenario information, with the scenario recognition accuracy of 75%. We demonstrate that such approach proposed can identify the scenario of the BSes, which can help us understand the spatial temporal traffic patterns of wireless cellular system. © 2018, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

wireless ad hoc network will have a broad application prospect in both military and civilian fields. It is the foundation of wireless ad hoc network to accurately and quickly complete neighbor discovery of all nodes. At present, most traditional neighbor discovery algorithms choose to discard packets when they collide, and ignore the impact of collision in theoretical analysis. This paper proposes a neighbor discovery algorithm based on successive interference cancellation technology, which introduces successive interference cancellation (SIC) technology to deal with the collision of data packets, and carries on the mathematical modeling and theoretical analysis of the algorithm. Finally, the performance of the algorithm is simulated. It is verified that the introduction of SIC technology will improve the performance of neighbor discovery algorithm.

To meet the urgent requirements of ultra-reliable and low-latency communications (URLLCs) in vehicular networks, vehicular edge caching (VEC) becomes a promising solution to reduce backhaul costs and mitigate network congestion. However, the data requested by vehicular users may be maliciously tampered by attackers during the caching delivery phase. In this paper, we investigate the problem of secure caching placement and delivery for a VEC URLLC system. Specifically, we first analyze the lower bound of spectral efficiency for URLLCs and security metric, i.e., vulnerability. Then, an optimization problem of minimizing the maximum vulnerability among all vehicular users is formulated based on the analysis. Subsequently, we propose a secure caching placement and delivery algorithm to obtain the solutions of our formulated problem by reasonable complexity. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can significantly improve the performance of security for the VEC URLLC system.

Continuous-variable quantum key distribution (CVQKD) [1-7] allows two remote parties (Alice and Bob) to share a secret key,even in the presence of an eavesdropper (Eve) with unlimited computational power [8-17].While,a highly efficient reconciliation protocol [18-21] is crucial in a CVQKD system,which can not only extract the errorless secret keys,but also provide a promising way to achieve a long distance CVQKD at a low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).There are some practical reconciliation protocols [18-21] for CVQKD systems,such as,sliced reconciliation protocol (SEC) [18],sign reconciliation protocol [19],and multidimensional reconciliation protocol (MR) [21].Compared with the others,MR utilized the algebraic properties of a multidimensional method,which did not require quantization or any other post-selection technique.

The dynamic video streaming adaption and caching has been widely adopted in the proposals of future network, fulfilling the ever-increasing demand for seamless high-definition video transmission. Generally, the mobile video is transmitted in a two-stage wireless-wired hybrid link. There are totally different features in two stages, leading to a cask effect. Fortunately, the emergence of mobile edge computing (MEC) enables an intelligent interaction between these two stages. Moreover, the emergence of deep learning provides a new way to enhance the performance of such system, with higher flexibility and intelligence. Here, we propose an Deep learning enabled dynamic reactive video caching scheme deployed in MEC server. In this scheme, the caching server improves the utilization efficiency of the backhaul while MEC-based video quality adaption is used to adapt the rate to time-varying wireless channel. Deep Q-learning is also introduced to optimize the quality of experience (QoE) of the mobile video service in an intelligent way. Based on our simulation, the proposed scheme outperforms existing schemes with higher quality and stability in mobile video service.

The fog-computing-based radio access network (F-RAN) plays a vital role in improving high energy and spectral efficiency. But the problems is that large-scale remote radio heads (RRHs) and fog-computing-based access point (F-APs) result in an increase of transmission power consumption. RF energy harvesting technology is expected to prolong the lifetime of communication networks. In this work, take wireless fronthaul into consideration, we propose a new communication scenario, where the BBU pool transfers information and energy to an user equipment (UE) with the help of a F-AP. Subcarrier separating relaying protocol is adopted at the F-AP to achieve power and information splitting. Afterwards, we formulate a resource allocation problem by maximizing the energy harvested at the UE, subject to three constraints: total transmit power, peak power for each subcarrier, and minimum system throughput. Simulation results provide a practical insight into the impact of some related system parameters, e.g., signal-to-noise power ratio (SNR) and the BBU pool to F-AP distance on the performance of wireless energy harvesting through a F-AP. In particular, the proposed algorithm has significant improvement on the system performance.

Cognitive radio (CR) has received wide attention for enhancing the spectrum utilization. Spectrum prediction can be fully utilized in both time and frequency domains for cognitive access. In this paper, Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) networks method is adopted for spectrum prediction. Based on prediction of the power of future time slots, the method can help to achieve spectrum utilization flexibility by calculating throughput of shared channels. A new spectrum access strategy, which integrates optimal spectrum sensing interval in time domain and channel selection based on the presented LSTM networks method in frequency domain, is proposed. In particular, for multiple channels of the shared spectrum, the optimal sensing interval of each channel is calculated, which is then adopted as the reference output length of the LSTM networks method, with predicted results, a feedback which consists of a preferred channel list will be conducted for spectrum access. With both real-life and generated data, the proposed LSTM networks method is verified, which outperforms commonly used Neural network (NN) and Hidden Markov Model (HMM) methods. Numerical results also show that the proposed spectrum access strategy is capable of increasing throughput of the cognitive system and reducing energy consumption of spectrum sensing significantly.

The cellular D2D heterogeneous network takes advantage of proximity gain and hop gain of D2D communication, which can greatly improve the performance of the entire network. The actual network imposes an ultra-reliable and low-latency requirement for communications. Therefore, this paper proposes a set of joint power control and resource allocation distributed solutions. It consists of two parts. In order to guarantee the quality-of-service (QoS) of cellular primary users and scheduled D2D users, the pricing-based game scheme is used. In order to achieve the low-latency requirement, the link scheduling scheme based on the interference graph matrix within the D2D network is proposed. Simulations have shown that compared with the pure game theory scheme, this scheme can significantly reduce delay and thus achieve ultra-reliable and low-latency requirements.

We present a new scheme for realizing passive decoy-state quantum key distribution with the SARG04 protocol. It is based on parametric down-conversion sources, and we do not need to modulate the pumping light into different intensities. By applying local-mode-splitting detections on Alice's side, legitimate users can obtain four different kinds of counting events on Bob's side, due to intrinsic correlations between photon pairs from parametric downconversion processes. In the new scheme, we do not need to modulate signal pulses into different intensities and can, thus, avoid introducing any intensity modulating uncertainty. As a result, quite precise estimations of singleor multi-photon-pulse contributions can be obtained, enabling better performance of the key generation rate and transmission distance compared with other existing SARG04 protocols, e.g., the four-intensity decoy-state method using either parametric down-conversion sources or weak coherent sources. Besides, through comparisons, we also find that the proposed new passive decoy-state SARG04 protocol can also show some superiority over the conventional three-intensity decoy-state BB84 protocol at long transmission distances under certain experimental conditions. © 2018 Optical Society of America.

Heralded noiseless amplification is beneficial in overcoming transmission photon loss in a noisy quantum channel. We propose a single-photon-assisted heralded noiseless amplification protocol of the single- photon entanglement （SPE）, where the single-photon qubit has an arbitrary unknown polarization feature. We focus on both the complete and partial photon loss during the transmission process. After the amplification, the parties can recover the pure less-entangled SPE into a maximally entangled SPE and increase its fidelity. Moreover, the polarization feature of the single-photon qubit will be well preserved and not be leaked. Our protocol can be realized under our current experimental condition. Based on the features above, our protocol may be useful in the quantum secure communication schemes that encode information in the polarization degree of freedom of photons.
