The production fractions of B0s and Λ0b hadrons, normalized to the sum of B− and B0 fractions, are measured in 13 TeV pp collisions using data collected by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.67 fb−1. These ratios, averaged over the b-hadron transverse momenta from 4 to 25 GeV and pseudorapidity from 2 to 5, are 0.122±0.006 for B0s, and 0.259±0.018 for Λ0b, where the uncertainties arise from both statistical and systematic sources. The Λ0b ratio depends strongly on transverse momentum, while the B0s ratio shows a mild dependence. Neither ratio shows variations with pseudorapidity. The measurements are made using semileptonic decays to minimize theoretical uncertainties. In addition, the ratio of D+ to D0 mesons produced in the sum of B0 and B− semileptonic decays is determined as 0.359 ± 0.006 ± 0.009, where the uncertainties are statistical and systematic. A search for the Ξcc++ baryon through the Ξcc++ → D+pK−π+ decay is performed with a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.7 fb−1 recorded by the LHCb experiment in pp collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. An upper limit is set on the ratio of branching fractions R = BB((ΞΞcc++cc++→→ΛD+c+KpK−π−+ππ++)) with R −2 at the 90% (95%) confidence level at the known mass of the Ξ++ state. This article reports measurements characterizing the Underlying Event (UE) associated with hard scatterings at midrapidity (|η| leadingT ) in the event. Charged-particle numbers and summed transverse-momentum densities are measured in different azimuthal regions defined with respect to the leading particle direction: Toward, Transverse, and Away. The Toward and Away regions contain the fragmentation products of the hard scatterings in addition to the UE contribution, whereas particles in the Transverse region are expected to originate predominantly from the UE. The study is performed as a function of pleadingT with three different pT thresholds for the associated particles, ptrackT > 0.15, 0.5, and 1.0 GeV/c. The charged-particle density in the Transverse region rises steeply for low values of pleadingT and reaches a plateau. The results confirm the trend observed at lower collision energies that the charged-particle density in the Transverse region shows a stronger increase with √s than the inclusive charged-particle density at midrapidity. The plateau in the Transverse region (5 leadingT T) and the mean transverse momentum as a function of RT. Experimental results are compared to model calculations obtained using PYTHIA 8 and EPOS LHC. The overall agreement between models and data is within 30%. These measurements provide new insights on the interplay between hard scatterings and the associated UE in pp collisions. The production of charged hadrons within jets recoiling against a Z boson is measured in proton-proton collision data at √s = 8 TeV recorded by the LHCb experiment. A search for CP violation in charmless four-body decays of Λ0b and Ξb0 baryons with a proton and three charged mesons in the final state is performed. To cancel out production and detection charge-asymmetry effects, the search is carried out by measuring the difference between the CP asymmetries in a charmless decay and in a decay with an intermediate charmed baryon with the same particles in the final state. The data sample used was recorded in 2011 and 2012 with the LHCb detector and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 3 fb−1. A total of 18 CP asymmetries are considered, either accounting for the full phase space of the decays or exploring specific regions of the decay kinematics. The CL-SciSumm 2016 Shared Task is the first medium-scale shared task on scientific document summarization in the computational linguistics (CL) domain. The task built off of the experience and training data set created in its namesake pilot task, which was conducted in 2014 by the same organizing committee. The track included three tasks involving: (1A) identifying relationships between citing documents and the referred document, (1B) classifying the discourse facets, and (2) generating the abstractive summary. The dataset comprised 30 annotated sets of citing and reference papers from the open access research papers in the CL domain. This overview paper describes the participation and the official results of the second CL-SciSumm Shared Task, organized as a part of the Joint Workshop onBibliometric-enhanced Information Retrieval and Natural Language Processing for Digital Libraries (BIRNDL 2016), held in New Jersey,USA in June, 2016. The annotated dataset used for this shared task and the scripts used for evaluation can be accessed and used by the community at: https://***/WING-NUS/scisumm-corpus.

The correlations of identical charged kaons were measured in p–Pb collisions at √sNN = 5.02 TeV by the ALICE experiment at the LHC. The femtoscopic invariant radii and correlation strengths were extracted from one-dimensional kaon correlation functions and were compared with those obtained in pp and Pb–Pb collisions at √s = 7 TeV and √sNN = 2.76 TeV, respectively. The presented results also complement the identical-pion femtoscopic data published by the ALICE collaboration. The extracted radii increase with increasing charged-particle multiplicity and decrease with increasing pair transverse momentum. At comparable multiplicities, the radii measured in p–Pb collisions are found to be close to those observed in pp collisions. The obtained femtoscopic parameters are reproduced by the EPOS 3 hadronic interaction model and disfavor models with large initial size or strong collective expansion at low multiplicities. © 2019, CC BY.

We present a study of the inclusive charged-particle transverse momentum (pT) spectra as a function of charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-pseudorapidity, dNch/dη, in pp collisions at √s = 5.02 and 13 TeV covering the kinematic range |η| T 0). The transverse momentum spectra are reported for two multiplicity estimators covering different pseudorapidity regions. While the pT spectra exhibit a strong dependence on multiplicity and center-of-mass energy, they show little energy dependence when normalized to the pT spectrum for INEL> 0. The behavior of the multiplicity dependent spectra from intermediate to high transverse momentum (6 T T yields of charged particles increase faster than the charged-particle multiplicity density. The average pT as a function of multiplicity and transverse spherocity is reported for pp collisions at √s = 13 TeV. For low- (high-) spherocity events, corresponding to jet-like (isotropic) events, the average pT is higher (smaller) than that measured in INEL> 0 pp collisions. Within uncertainties, the functional form of 〈pT〉(Nch) is not affected by the spherocity selection. While EPOS LHC gives a good description of many features of data, PYTHIA overestimates the average pT in jet-like events. The jet radial structure and particle transverse momentum (pT) composition within jets are presented in centrality-selected Pb–Pb collisions at √sNN = 2.76 TeV. Track-based jets, which are also called charged jets, were reconstructed with a resolution parameter of R = 0.3 at midrapidity |ηchjet| T,chjet = 30–120 GeV/c. Jet–hadron correlations in relative azimuth and pseudorapidity space (∆, ∆η) are measured to study the distribution of the associated particles around the jet axis for different pT,assocranges between 1 and 20 GeV/c. The data in Pb–Pb collisions are compared to reference distributions for pp collisions, obtained using embedded PYTHIA simulations. The number of high-pT associate particles (4 T,assoc T associate particles are slightly more collimated in Pb–Pb collisions compared to the reference, while low-pT associate particle tend to be broadened. The results, which are presented for the first time down to pT,chjet = 30 GeV/c in Pb–Pb collisions, are compatible with both previous jet–hadron-related measurements from the CMS Collaboration and jet shape measurements from the ALICE Collaboration at higher pT, and add further support for the established picture of in-medium parton energy loss.
