Gland instance segmentation is an essential but challenging task in the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma. The existing models usually achieve gland instance segmentation through multi-task learning and boundary loss constraint. However, how to deal with the problems of gland adhesion and inaccurate boundary in segmenting the complex samples remains a challenge. In this work, we propose a novel geometric feature named displacement field (DF), which can represent the geometric information such as shape, size, and orientation of the glands. Based on the explicit constraint of DF, a displacement-field assisted graph energy transmitter (DFGET) framework is proposed for solving the above problems. Using such graph framework, the gland semantic segmentation map and the displacement field of the graph nodes are estimated with two graph network branches. With the constraint of DF, a graph cluster module is presented to improve the intra-class feature consistency and inter-class feature discrepancy, as well as to separate the adherent glands. Extensive comparison and ablation experiments on the GlaS dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the displacement field and the superiority of DFGET. Compared to the best comparative model, DFGET increases the object-Dice and object-F1 score by 2.27% and 3.11% respectively, while decreases the object-HD by 15.58, achieving state-of-the-art performance, which indicates that DFGET can serve as an auxiliary tool for the diagnosis of adenocarcinoma. © 2024 IEEE.

GBCT: An Efficient and Adaptive Granular-Ball Clustering Algorithm for Complex data

Traditional clustering algorithms often focus on the most fine-grained information and achieve clustering by calculating the distance between each pair of data points or implementing other calculations based on points. This way is not inconsistent with the cognitive mechanism of "global precedence" in human brain, resulting in those methods’ bad performance in efficiency, generalization ability and robustness. To address this problem, we propose a new clustering algorithm called granular-ball clustering (GBCT) via granular-ball computing. Firstly, GBCT generates a smaller number of granular-balls to represent the original data, and forms clusters according to the relationship between granular-balls, instead of the traditional point relationship. At the same time, its coarse-grained characteristics are not susceptible to noise, and the algorithm is efficient and robust;besides, as granular-balls can fit various complex data, GBCT performs much better in non-spherical data sets than other traditional clustering methods. The completely new coarse granularity representation method of GBCT and cluster formation mode can also used to improve other traditional methods. All codes can be available from the following link. Prior Semantic-Embedding Representation Learning for On-the-Fly

In the context of fine-grained sketch-based image retrieval (FG-SBIR) framework, sketch drawing is a time-consuming and skill-intensive process that greatly restricts its practical application. Our study aims to enhance the early-stage retrieval efficiency by utilizing partial sketches with a minimum number of strokes in the on-the-fly FG-SBIR framework. Nevertheless, partial sketches with few strokes usually lack global information and consist only of sparse local details. This lack of detail results in ambiguous semantic content and indistinct differences among images, which consequently impairs early-stage retrieval. To acquire an efficient representation for these sketches, we propose a multi-granularity feature representation model that utilizes prior knowledge embedding to deal with the sketch drawing process. In the first stage,we design a triplet network to learn the joint a coarse representation embedding space that is common between the complete sketch and the image. In the second stage, We enhanced the semantic representation of sketches by utilizing prior knowledge, which aids in supplementing missing fine-grained features. This was achieved by formalizing the prior knowledge and integrating it into the feature vector obtained in the initial stage, thereby acquiring the final representation of a subset of sketches. Experiments conducted on two public datasets indicate that our method outperforms the state-of-the-art baseline during the early retrieval phase. Granular-ball Representation Learning for Deep CNN on Learning with Label Noise

In actual scenarios, whether manually or automatically annotated, label noise is inevitably generated in the training data, which can affect the effectiveness of deep CNN models. The popular solutions require data cleaning or designing additional optimizations to punish the data with mislabeled data, thereby enhancing the robustness of models. However, these methods come at the cost of weakening or even losing some data during the training process. As we know, content is the inherent attribute of an image that does not change with changes in annotations. In this study, we propose a general granular-ball computing (GBC) module that can be embedded into a CNN model, where the classifier finally predicts the label of granular-ball (gb) samples instead of each individual samples. Specifically, considering the classification task: (1) in forward process, we split the input samples as gb samples at feature-level, each of which can correspond to multiple samples with varying numbers and share one single label;(2) during the backpropagation process, we modify the gradient allocation strategy of the GBC module to enable it to propagate normally;and (3) we develop an experience replay policy to ensure the stability of the training process. Experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can improve the robustness of CNN models with no additional data or optimization. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

At present, the research object of fault diagnosis focuses on single fault diagnosis. This method of diagnosis does not consider the relationship between mechanical equipment faults, and cannot fully identify the type of fault. In the actual industrial process, mechanical equipment is mostly complex system, and compound fault diagnosis is more in line with industrial needs. In order to solve the problem of compound fault diagnosis of mechanical equipment and improve the accuracy of fault identification, this paper establishes a compound fault diagnosis model for gearbox by means of multi-task learning, uses multi-gated networks to extract features from the task sharing layer, and finally classifies the fault through the task specific *** experimental results show that, the compound fault diagnosis method based on Multi-task Learning with Multi-gate Mixture-of-Experts (ML-MMoE) can accurately identify compound fault types under different working conditions. © 2022 IEEE

Large language models (LLMs) need knowledge updates to meet the ever-growing world facts and correct the hallucinated responses, facilitating the methods of lifelong model editing. Where the updated knowledge resides in memories is a fundamental question for model editing. In this paper, we find that editing either long-term memory (direct model parameters) or working memory (non-parametric knowledge of neural network activations/representations by retrieval) will result in an impossible triangle—reliability, generalization, and locality can not be realized together in the lifelong editing settings. For long-term memory, directly editing the parameters will cause conflicts with irrelevant pretrained knowledge or previous edits (poor reliability and locality). For working memory, retrieval-based activations can hardly make the model understand the edits and generalize (poor generalization). Therefore, we propose WISE to bridge the gap between memories. In WISE, we design a dual parametric memory scheme, which consists of the main memory for the pretrained knowledge and a side memory for the edited knowledge. We only edit the knowledge in the side memory and train a router to decide which memory to go through when given a query. For continual editing, we devise a knowledge-sharding mechanism where different sets of edits reside in distinct subspaces of parameters and are subsequently merged into a shared memory without conflicts. Extensive experiments show that WISE can outperform previous model editing methods and overcome the impossible triangle under lifelong model editing of question answering, hallucination, and out-of-distribution settings across trending LLM architectures, e.g., GPT, LLaMA, and Mistral. In smart factories, the wide application of a variety of intelligent manufacturing devices and advanced sensors leads to the increasing demand for data exchange between different devices. In order to realize the flexible forwarding of multi-source manufacturing data in heterogeneous networks and the optimal utilization of network resources, in this article, we combined smartphone manufacturing scenarios, referred to the data flow reconstruction algorithm in related documents, analyzed the high dynamics of the data flow and proposed a data flow reconstruction algorithm based on routing-protocol, according to the particularity of different data forwarding and processing procedures, redesigned and defined the data flow in the scene. Finally, the results of Mininet simulation experiments showed that our proposed algorithm reduces the average transmission delay. © 2022 IEEE

Dual-view gaze target estimation in classroom environments has not been thoroughly explored. Existing methods lack consideration of depth information, primarily focusing on 2D image information and neglecting the latent 3D spatial context, which could lead to suboptimal transformation and cause the gaze cone to intersect with an incorrect object. This paper introduces a novel dual-view gaze target estimation method tailored for classroom settings, leveraging depth-enhanced spatial transformations. By formulating a depth-enhanced 2D space, our method uses depth-enhanced spatial transformation to accurately project students' gaze cones to the teacher-oriented image. Additionally, we collected a dataset named DVSGE, specifically for student gaze target estimation in dual-view classroom images. Experimental results demonstrate significant performance improvements of 9.8% in AUC and 19.9% in L2-Distance for our method, surpassing existing methods. © 2025 IEEE.

Graph neural networks (GNNs) are specially designed to process graph data because of their ability to effectively capture complex structures and relationships within graphs. However, due to the pixel-based nature of images, representing them as graphs and then using graph networks poses challenges. Inspired by granular computing, we propose a method to compute multi-granularity structured features from image tiles, which facilitates efficient and direct graph-based representation learning. Specifically: (1) We design a method to reorganize all regional features into multiple tiles and construct a multi-granularity graph representation, which includes nodes and edges. (2) We use gray-level co-occurrence matrices to extract the image texture features to compensate for the information lost during graph representation. (3) We design a graph neural network classifier that combines the above graph features and image texture features. Experimental evaluations on two benchmark image classification datasets demonstrate the efficiency of our proposed method and its potential to establish a new paradigm for image processing. Federal Learning (FL) has made remarkable achievements in the medical field, but the technology still faces challenges in data sharing and privacy protection, which limits its application in the medical field. To solve these problems, we developed the CQUPT-HDS system. The system is dedicated to solving the security and privacy protection problems in cross-domain collaborative analysis, ensuring the security of data and models. In view of the sensitivity of medical data, complexity of cross-domain sharing and privacy protection, key technologies such as local differential privacy algorithm and searchable encryption algorithm are adopted to optimize model training, data transmission and role rights management, so as to achieve secure and efficient cross-domain data sharing and collaborative computing. The purpose of introducing the system is to realize comprehensive security situation awareness and detection, build a multi-level defense system, solve the challenges of data sharing and privacy protection in the medical field, and provide a reliable solution for cross-domain sharing and collaborative computing of medical data.
