Inverted perovskite solar cells based on weakly polarized hole-transporting layers suffer from the problem of polarity mismatch with the perovskite precursor solution,resulting in a nonideal wetting *** addition to the bottom-up growth of the polycrystalline halide perovskite,this will inevitably worse the effects of residual strain and heterogeneity at the buried interface on the interfacial carrier transport and localized compositional ***,we propose a multifunctional hybrid pre-embedding strategy to improve substrate wettability and address unfavorable strain and *** exposing the buried interface,it was found that the residual strain of the perovskite films was markedly reduced because of the presence of organic polyelectrolyte and imidazolium salt,which not only realized the halogen compensation and the coordination of Pb2+but also the buried interface morphology and defect recombination that were well *** from the above advantages,the power conversion efficiency of the targeted inverted devices with a bandgap of 1.62 eV was 21.93%and outstanding intrinsic *** addition,this coembedding strategy can be extended to devices with a bandgap of 1.55 eV,and the champion device achieved a power conversion efficiency of 23.74%.In addition,the optimized perovskite solar cells retained 91%of their initial efficiency(960 h)when exposed to an ambient relative humidity of 20%,with a T80 of 680 h under heating aging at 65℃,exhibiting elevated durability.

Robust Graph Structure Learning with the Alignment of Features and Adjacency Matrix

To improve the robustness of graph neural networks (GNN), graph structure learning (GSL) has attracted great interest due to the pervasiveness of noise in graph data. Many approaches have been proposed for GSL to jointly learn a clean graph structure and corresponding representations. To extend the previous work, this paper proposes a novel regularized GSL approach, particularly with an alignment of feature information and graph information, which is motivated mainly by our derived lower bound of node-level Rademacher complexity for GNNs. Additionally, our proposed approach incorporates sparse dimensional reduction to leverage low-dimensional node features that are relevant to the graph structure. To evaluate the effectiveness of our approach, we conduct experiments on real-world graphs. The results demonstrate that our proposed GSL method outperforms several competitive baselines, especially in scenarios where the graph structures are heavily affected by noise. Overall, our research highlights the importance of integrating feature and graph information alignment in GSL, as inspired by our derived theoretical result, and showcases the superiority of our approach in handling noisy graph structures through comprehensive experiments on real-world datasets. FedCross: Intertemporal Federated Learning Under Evolutionary Games

Federated Learning (FL) mitigates privacy leakage in decentralized machine learning by allowing multiple clients to train collaboratively locally. However, dynamic mobile networks with high mobility, intermittent connectivity, and bandwidth limitation severely hinder model updates to the cloud server. Although previous studies have typically addressed user mobility issue through task reassignment or predictive modeling, frequent migrations may result in high communication overhead. Addressing this challenge involves not only dealing with resource constraints, but also finding ways to mitigate the challenges posed by user migrations. We therefore propose an intertemporal incentive framework, FedCross, which ensures the continuity of FL tasks by migrating interrupted training tasks to feasible mobile devices. Specifically, FedCross comprises two distinct stages. In Stage 1, we address the task allocation problem across regions under resource constraints by employing a multi-objective migration algorithm to quantify the optimal task receivers. Moreover, we adopt evolutionary game theory to capture the dynamic decision-making of users, forecasting the evolution of user proportions across different regions to mitigate frequent migrations. In Stage 2, we utilize a procurement auction mechanism to allocate rewards among base stations, ensuring that those providing high-quality models receive optimal compensation. This approach incentivizes sustained user participation, thereby ensuring the overall feasibility of FedCross. Finally, experimental results validate the theoretical soundness of FedCross and demonstrate its significant reduction in communication overhead. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the rise of data-intensive services in mobile networks, the demand for intelligent and efficient learning frameworks has grown exponentially. Federated Learning (FL), as an emerging paradigm, enables decentralized edge devices to collaboratively train large models without sharing raw data, ensuring privacy preservation. However, deploying FL in resource-constrained mobile environments faces significant challenges, such as free-riding and malicious behavior. These challenges hinder model performance and raise concerns about data integrity and inter-user cooperation. To address these issues, we propose a layered dynamic framework for social mobile networks, called FedSMN, which aims to enhance the generalization ability of collaboratively trained large models in FL environments. FedSMN leverages Bayesian inference to evaluate user behavior and employs evolutionary game theory to simulate dynamic interactions, thereby optimizing cooperation strategies and reducing communication overhead. Unlike traditional approaches that assume fully rational actors, FedSMN accounts for irrational behavior and fluctuating resources, designing an efficient incentive mechanism to improve data utilization. Extensive experiments on large-scale datasets demonstrate that FedSMN increases model accuracy by 21% and reduces communication overhead by 49%, paving the way for scalable, intelligent mobile networks powered by large models. © 1986-2012 IEEE.

TRAIL: Trust-Aware Client Scheduling for Semi-Decentralized Federated Learning

Due to the sensitivity of data, Federated Learning (FL) is employed to enable distributed machine learning while safeguarding data privacy and accommodating the requirements of various devices. However, in the context of semidecentralized FL, clients' communication and training states are dynamic. This variability arises from local training fluctuations, heterogeneous data distributions, and intermittent client participation. Most existing studies primarily focus on stable client states, neglecting the dynamic challenges inherent in real-world scenarios. To tackle this issue, we propose a TRust-Aware clIent scheduLing mechanism called TRAIL, which assesses client states and contributions, enhancing model training efficiency through selective client participation. We focus on a semi-decentralized FL framework where edge servers and clients train a shared global model using unreliable intra-cluster model aggregation and inter-cluster model consensus. First, we propose an adaptive hidden semi- Markov model to estimate clients' communication states and contributions. Next, we address a client-server association optimization problem to minimize global training loss. Using convergence analysis, we propose a greedy client scheduling algorithm. Finally, our experiments conducted on real-world datasets demonstrate that TRAIL outperforms state-of-the-art baselines, achieving an improvement of 8.7% in test accuracy and a reduction of 15.3% in training loss. © 2024, CC BY.

Fer-Chc: Facial Expression Recognition with Cross-Hierarchy Contrast

Remarkable progress has been made in facial expression recognition (FER) tasks with convolutional neural networks (CNNs). However, these CNN-based approaches do not well capture the detailed and crucial features that can distinguish different facial expressions from a global perspective among multiple facial expressions. The performance of existing CNN-based models for FER is still much room for improvement. As such, we propose a novel cross-hierarchy contrast (CHC) framework named FER-CHC for facial expression recognition tasks. The basic idea of FER-CHC is to employ a CHC to regularize the feature learning of the backbone network and enhance global representations of facial expressions. Specifically, the CHC captures common and differential features from different facial expressions with a cross-hierarchy contrast mechanism. The fusion network globally integrates the features learned from a backbone network and CHC to learn a more robust feature representation. Comprehensive experiments were conducted on six popular datasets: CK+, FER2013, FER+, RAF-DB, AffectNet, and JAFFE. The results show that our proposed FER-CHC achieves state-of-the-art performances on these datasets. Oscillation is a significant indication of the deterioration of control system performance and needs to be carefully monitored to ensure safe and stable process operations. However, industrial processes are often prone to noisy artifacts and nonstationary trends, resulting in low signal-to-noise ratios. In order to tackle this problem, this study introduces a novel framework for enhanced trend removal and noise reduction, which is featured by the following steps:(i) The circulant singular spectrum analysis (CiSSA) is used to decompose oscillation data into several reconstructed components (RCs). (ii) The estimated power spectral density (PSD) of these RCs is then smoothed using the Savitzky-Golay filter (SGF) to eliminate noise and identify the RCs corresponding to oscillatory components. (iii) These identified RCs are subsequently reconstructed to produce purified oscillatory data. The effectiveness of the suggested approach is validated using simulations and real-world industrial case studies. The findings indicate that the method notably enhances the quality of oscillatory data.

Accurately and promptly quantifying stiction is crucial for valve maintenance in industrial settings and ensuring the stability of control loop performance. However, current Hammerstein-based stiction quantification methods overlook valve dynamics, potentially leading to inaccurate quantification. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel stiction quantification method based on an adaptive differential evolution algorithm. In addition to considering the impact of valve dynamics on stiction, the proposed method demonstrates a certain level of robustness against the interference of unknown noise. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through a series of simulations and industrial case studies.

With its extremely dry air and high altitude above 5000 meters, the Ail Observatory located in the Tibet plateau has been a promising site for several astronomical instruments working in the optical or millimeter wave bands. In addition to protect the dark sky around the Ali Observatory, the measures to protect local radio environment have also been discussed. Based on the requirements of radio astronomical instruments, a radio environment monitoring system has been proposed. This paper describes the preliminary design of the system, including the technical specification and the system composition. In the near future, this system will be put into use. © 2023 International Union of Radio Science.

Conventional hyper-network coefficients ignore the weighted hyper-edge information which could be vital in researching the specificity of brain disease. Functional hyper-networks for 64 healthy controls (HC) and 56 patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) were constructed using the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator (Lasso). Not only the classical topology metrics but also a novel hyper-edge weight (HEW) attribute were extracted as features to promote the functional-based auto-diagnosis accuracy of MDD. We compared the categorization performance of each hyper-network coefficient. A multi-feature ensemble model was applied to fuse different kinds of features. We obtained 82.15 % accuracy with the classical hyper-network clustering coefficient (HCC) and 84.08 % accuracy with the HEW attribute on the MDD dataset. The performance was further improved to 89.24% by combining all the properties of the hyper-networks. The multi-feature ensemble model combining different hyper-network coefficients provides new insights into the automatic diagnosis with diverse information of MDD. © 2021 IEEE.
