Natural language inference (NLI) aims to infer the relationship between two texts: premise and hypothesis. However, many existing methods overlook the problem of overestimation of model performance due to superficial correlation biases in NLI datasets. We study this problem and find that most current models have taken NLI as one of the text-matching tasks, which ignores the asymmetry of the premise and hypothesis of NLI. Therefore, we propose a simple and effective augmentation method, Inversive-Reasoning Augmentation (IRA), to remove the superficial correlation bias. After training the different NLI models with our IRA-augmented data based on two widely-used NLI datasets, we observe more fair evaluation results of the performance and robustness of the various NLI models.

Liver segmentation is crucial for computer-assisted diagnosis and preoperative planning in hepatology. The scarcity of annotated medical datasets and segmentation architectures tailored for liver imaging, presents significant challenges. Inaccurate segmentation can severely impact the diagnosis of intrahepatic lesions and preoperative planning. Current state-of-the-art methods struggle with segmenting challenging liver regions, such as the hepatic apex, portal vein, base, and caudate lobe. To address this, we introduce LiverSegNeXt, an advanced technique based on the MedNeXt framework. LiverSegNeXt incorporates novel approaches, including the inception and ConvNeXt architecture. Additionally, the performance of existing methods is still limited by insufficient feature extraction. We propose a coarse training and fine-tuning approach, as well as an absolute position embedding approach, to leverage the consistent spatial positioning of the liver in CT scans. We evaluated LiverSegNeXt on our in-house dataset. Our method outperforms existing models and found that it surpasses other existing methods, improving the Dice coefficient by 0.21% compared to other approaches.

This paper presents BrailleNet, an enhanced one-stage anchor-based object detection model for Braille character recognition, incorporating foreground attention and semantic learning. BrailleNet is validated using two new datasets: mobile phone live shot Braille and chart Braille. Experimental results show BrailleNet's superior performance on both public and introduced datasets. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper proposes a hierarchical Braille layout detection model based on semantic assistance, BLayoutNet. As research on Braille layout analysis is relatively scarce and there is a lack of relevant datasets, this paper proposes a Braille layout detection dataset to support research in this field. Finally, experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model achieves stable and accurate detection of Braille layout. It is hoped that this model can serve as a strong baseline for Braille layout analysis tasks and promote the development of this field. © 2023 IEEE.

Few-shot Learning (FSL) aims to learn and distinguish new categories from a scant number of available samples, presenting a significant challenge in the realm of deep learning. Recent researchers have sought to leverage the additional semantic or linguistic information of scarce categories with a pre-trained language model to facilitate learning, thus partially alleviating the problem of insufficient supervision signals. Nonetheless, the full potential of the semantic information and pre-trained language model have been underestimated in the few-shot learning till now, resulting in limited performance enhancements. To address this, we propose a straightforward and efficacious framework for few-shot learning tasks, specifically designed to exploit the semantic information and language model. Specifically, we explicitly harness the zero-shot capability of the pre-trained language model with learnable prompts. And we directly add the visual feature with the textual feature for inference without the intricate designed fusion modules as in prior studies. Additionally, we apply the self-ensemble and distillation to further enhance performance. Extensive experiments conducted across four widely used few-shot datasets demonstrate that our simple framework achieves impressive results. Particularly noteworthy is its outstanding performance in the 1-shot learning task, surpassing the current state-of-the-art by an average of 3.3\% in classification accuracy. One kind of traffic light recognition method based on super resolution technology applied in intelligent eyeglasses system is proposed in this paper. Take advantage of the high recognition accuracy of the latest hot target detectors and the ability of super-resolution technology which can increase image resolution dramatically, so as to achieve the accurate identification of pedestrian traffic lights. The lightweight adjustment operation can ensure the real-time performance of the model on the mobile terminal and correctly assist the safe passage of visually impaired people at traffic intersections. © 2022 IEEE.

Braille is an essential tool for visually impaired people to receiving and transmitting information. However, sighted people without special training cannot read Braille, which will cause inconvenience to scenarios such as special education that require sighted people to read Braille. This paper implements a Braille-to-Chinese translation system composed of optical Braille recognition, Braille-to-pinyin conversion, and pinyin-to-character module. Experiments prove that our system can effectively and accurately translate Braille images into Chinese. Our system has broad application prospects, which can help the sighted people read Braille and help visually impaired people in their study and life. © 2022 IEEE.

Text recognition technology based on deep learning has achieved great success in recent years. However, these recognition models have poor robustness under the influence of strong light noise. The existing solution to this problem leverages preprocessing methods to remove uneven lighting, which shows just passable effects on noise reduction for strong light. In this paper, we propose a text image recognition algorithm with attention-based strong light region perception module to solve this problem. The model is trained to detect strong light regions and guide the generated feature maps to focus on the clear part of the input image. Experimental results show that this model mitigates the impact of strong light noise pollution and improves the robustness of recognition technology on multiple datasets. © 2022 IEEE.
