Oral history involves conveying experienced events through spoken narratives, typically preserved and later studied by converting spoken language into text. Named entity recognition (NER) is the recognition of meaningful named entities in text, such as person names, locations, organizations, etc. Conducting NER research on oral history text is significant as it not only facilitates the verification of named entities by researchers but also allows for the extraction of key information from texts through named entities. By collecting oral history corpus, we establish an oral history text dataset, manually annotating all texts with six entity labels and repeatedly verifying them manually. Utilizing the concept of machine reading comprehension (MRC), a semantic fusion module was added, integrating label information into text information using a cross-attention mechanism, and decoding the corresponding entity labels through span decoding. The final model performs well on the oral history text dataset and also showed good performance on general Chinese datasets. © 2024 IEEE.

Most current representations of protein pockets are the atom-pair graph, which ignore the global structural information of amino acids. Therefore, we propose a new molecular generation model, which uses the hypergraph to represent protein pocket structure, and combines the structural features obtained by atom-pair graph representation. These two levels of graphs are more capable of representing the complex structural information of protein pockets. Then, the graphs of the two levels of the protein pockets are input into the improved network model, which is named Hypergraph Graph Attention Fusion (HGAF), to obtain the embedding representation of the protein pockets, which is used as a condition to constrain the molecule generation. The molecules sampled by HGAF are subjected to quality assessment and docking targeting validation. Experimental results show that the molecules generated by proposed method can achieve better results in both of these assessment approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

Scene text recognition (STR) methods combined with semantic information have made great progress to recognize texts in natural scenes, most of which are daily words. However, research on mining semantic information in industrial texts attracts less attention. Since industrial texts follow a different semantic pattern defined by industry standards, it challenges many existing methods to conduct accurate semantic reasoning. In this paper, we abstract the industry standards into two aspects of prior knowledge: the grouping property and the prior lexicon. Correspondingly, a knowledge-based language model is proposed with several group-wise correlation modules and a lexicon-based reasoning module to learn semantic rules from both data and the prior knowledge. Besides, we transfer the prior knowledge into data by generating synthetic pure text datasets according to the industry standards' rules, which introduces more prior knowledge to the language model. Furthermore, a novel STR framework is presented by combining the knowledge-based language model and an attention-based vision model. For evaluation, two industrial text datasets called CIN and SB are collected from real-world industrial field surveillance. Experiments indicate that our method's word-level accuracy outperforms state-of-the-art methods with 15% and 10.61% on CIN and SB datasets respectively. © 2022 IEEE.

As a metric to measure the information freshness, Age of information (AoI) is widely used to evaluate low-latency high-reliability communication. Since the communication in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) often has the special requirements, the relationship among AoI, reliability and block length in time-critical scenarios with bounded latency and non-time-critical scenarios without bounded latency is explored respectively in this paper, based on erasure channels using rateless codes. We build a model using LT codes over erasure channels and consider two metrics: average AoI and bounded AoI. Theoretical analysis and simulation results show that AoI has a minimum value with different block lengths. Furthermore, we draw a conclusion that the minimum value of AoI under different reliability is monotonically decreasing functioned with reliability. Finally, the impact of overhead on reliability and AoI of LT codes in time-critical scenarios is studied. © 2024 IEEE.

As a pivotal mechanical component of turbine drive-chain, gearbox suffers from various accidents and fault diagnosis could remarkably enhance its reliability and maintain running safety and lifetime. Vibration-based analysis on single-channel is mainly adopted in previous diagnostic, which cannot catch full vibration inner information in gearbox sensors and bring model performance down. In this paper, a novel method based on the fusion of multi-direction and multi-source signals and the convolutional neural network (MDMS-CNN) is presented. This method can obtain multi-dimensional feature maps from MDMS and preserve the time correlation among different signal sequences. First, features from MDMS are extracted via a corrosion conversion method that converts signals into two-dimensional (2-D) gray images. Then, homologous images are spliced into same channels, while heterogeneous images are superimposed to different channels. Finally, fusion features are input into CNN for fault classification. In experiments, the method is validated on a gearbox diagnosis case. Results have shown that the proposed method achieves 99.86% recognition accuracy and faster convergence speed compared to others. © 2022 IEEE.

As the electromagnetic environment in battlefields becomes increasingly complex, automatic modulation recognition for noncooperation radiation source signal is becoming vital and challenging. Most previous works were more likely to cause low recognition accuracy with high computational complexity in low signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), and only considered spatial or temporal attributes of signal which ignores the feature interaction. In this paper, we firstly apply synchrosqueezing transform (SST) to extract high resolution and robustness time-frequency feature as one of signal representation, and convert the signal into the in-phase/quadrature (I/Q) components as another signal representation, which enhances the diversity of signal representation. Then, we propose a deep learning model to achieve automatic recognition, which has two streams and each stream consists of the convolutional neural network (CNN), bistatic long short-term memory (BiLSTM) and temporal attention (TAT). It efficiently explores the feature from each signal representation and enhances the key features by the introduction of TAT, furthermore, it implements feature interaction to form a new feature matrix. Finally, experiments and analysis were conducted using the RadioML2016.10a dataset. The experimental results showed that compared to other algorithms, this method has higher robustness and perform better recognition accuracy under low SNR. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2023.

In this paper, a multi-kernel principal component analysis (MKPCA) method for quality-related fault detection is proposed. The initial space is firstly mapped to a new space. The correlated information between the new space and output quality is then obtained by the kernel function. Meanwhile, with consideration of the advantage of global function and local function, a weight factor which combines them together is introduced to construct a multi-kernel function. In this way, the algorithm achieves better learning ability. The new space is projected to two mutually orthogonal subspaces, i.e., quality-related part and quality-unrelated part. In each subspace, fault information is expressed by different statistical indicators. The numerical example is presented to evaluate the performance of the MKPCA. The results show better reliability and high fault detection rate through proper spatial decomposition and kernel function construction. © 2022 IEEE.

Computer-aided drug design and artificial intelligence-driven drug design have accelerated drug discovery. However, how to design effective drugs that have strong interaction ability with target proteins to further improve the efficacy of drugs in treating diseases remains a key issue. This paper proposes a new target-specific drug generative model 3CLpro2mol to generate new drug molecules, which uses features of drug-target interactions (DTIs) to constrain the correlation between the drug and the target protein. To obtain as many drug-target interaction features as possible from a small amount of data, a small molecule extraction strategy is proposed to ensure the diversity of small molecules in the training samples. To improve the efficiency and accuracy of the generative model, a TOP K sampling strategy is used to generate tokens, which can improve the rationality and diversity of the generated molecules. The experimental results show that the proposed model has the potential to generate small molecules that interact better with the target protein. © 2023 IEEE.

The robots have been used in the inspection of industrial wireless sensor networks (IWSNs), that includes data collection and wireless charging. The sensor nodes are always densely deployed and their appearances are similar, thus it is a non-trivial challenge to identify a specific node by the machine vision. To solve this problem, we propose to use the proximity estimation algorithm, which uses wireless signals to estimate neighbor nodes, to help the robot to identify a specific node in the network. The algorithm is deployed a patrol inspection testbed with a mobile robot and multiple sensor nodes, and the experiments are executed to verify its performance. The experimental results show that the proximity estimation algorithm is a reasonable solution to identify similar nodes in the inspection of the IWSN. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
