This paper studies semi-global leader-following output consensus of a multi-agent system. Each follower agent in the system, described by a general linear system subject to external disturbances and actuator saturation, is to track the leader agent. Conditions on the agent dynamics are identified under which a low gain feedback based linear state control algorithm is constructed for each follower agent such that the leader-following output consensus is achieved when the communication topology among the agents is a directed graph that contains no loop and the leader is globally reachable. In addition, discussions and simulations are also provided for the output consensus in the presence of actuator saturation.

A system of Kinect-based people following for mobile robots is presented. The function of skeleton tracking of Kinect, a 3D somatosensory camera, is used to identify a specific person in the depth image. And then the position of the identified person in robot local coordinates is attained by using the ranging data obtained from the Kinect sensor. A rule-based control law is designed to keep the person in the center of depth images and in a fixed distance away from the mobile robot. As a new Internet architecture, Named Data Networking (NDN) decouples location from the data itself to achieve security, scalability, and mobility. Although router-side data caching used in NDN reduces data acquisition delay, it introduces a new copyright protection challenge: how to prevent unauthorized users to retrieve data cached in routers that are out of the control of its publisher? Current approaches that rely on a common encryption key among authorized users cannot protect copyright well since if one authorized user secretly leaks the key, we cannot tell who has leaked the key out. In this paper, we present a split-based scheme to solve this copyright protection problem for large-sized data. The data is split into a large part that could be cached in routers for all users to retrieve, and a small part that is unique for each authorized user. This scheme exploits the fact that in the bit-wise OR operation, both bit 0 and bit 1 can OR with 1 to generate the same result of bit 1. The analysis of our scheme shows that it has a good performance in terms of copyright protection, data retrieval efficiency, and overhead.

Studies have shown that applying a vibration of certain frequencies and intensities on the tooth can accelerate tooth movement, thus shorten orthodontic treatment *** optimal frequency may be related to the natural frequency of the tooth-periodontal ligament(PDL)-bone complex(TPBC),therefore we designed a vibrating device which can measure the natural frequency of the TPBC, and produce vibration load with customized frequencies and intensities. This device consists of four parts, vibration source, vibration frequency modulator,vibration amplitude modulator, natural frequency measurement module. To optimize the vibrator's design, specifically structure and natural frequency, static analysis and modal analysis were both made. The application method of the vibrator is also introduced. The designed vibrator can customize vibration load and obtain the natural frequency of TPBC, and it will be used for experiments to obtain the relation between the optimal frequency and the natural frequency of TPBC.

This paper is concerned with the problem of the full-order observer design for a class of fractional-order Lipschitz nonlinear systems. By introducing a continuous frequency distributed equivalent model and using an indirect Lyapunov approach, the sufficient condition for asymptotic stability of the full-order observer error dynamic system is presented. The stability condition is obtained in terms of LMI, which is less conservative than the existing one. A numerical example demonstrates the validity of this approach.

For automatic train operation (ATO) system, the main object of ATO controller is to control the moving of the train as close as possible to the target curve, so that the demands for time, safety, travelling comfort and energy saving can be met. In this paper, a model predictive control (MPC) strategy is introduced to control the train system due to its good performance and ability to handle system with time-delay and constraints. Model parameters can be identified by measured data. The proposed MPC algorithm with corresponding switching strategy is designed. The simulation results illustrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

This paper describes a new method for how interfering MIMO links might transmit more effectively in a random access network. We assume perfect transmitter-side channel state information, zero-forcing pre-coding to guarantee no interference on links that have already won access, and zero-forcing receiver processing at the still-contending links to suppress interference from the links that have already won. We define an effectiveness metric, the Instantaneous Equivalent SNR Percentile (IESP), in which the Equivalent SNR is the SNR of a single-input-single-output (SISO) link that would have the same capacity of a MIMO link after its interference constraints have been met and the IESP is the percentile of the Equivalent SNR, assuming independent Rayleigh fading. We propose that fairness among heterogeneous contending links be realized by giving the shorter contention window to the link with the higher IESP based on its own distribution, enabling links with few antennas to compete with links that have many antennas. Through simulation of the sum capacity of the winning set of links, the proposed contention window design is shown to provide a higher sum capacity than contention based on equal-sized windows.
