Synchronization and desynchronization are the two ends on the spectrum of emergent phenomena that somehow often coexist in biological, neuronal, and physical networks. However, previous studies essentially regard their coexistence as a partition of the network units: those that are in relative synchrony and those that are not. In real-world systems, desynchrony bears subtler divisions because the interacting units are high-dimensional, like fish schooling with varying speeds in a circle, synchrony and desynchrony may occur to the different dimensions of the population. In this work, we show with an ensemble of multidimensional Kuramoto oscillators, that this property is generalizable to arbitrary dimensions: for a d dimensional population, there exist 2d system modes where each dimension is either synchronized or desynchronized, represented by a set of almost binary order parameters. Such phenomena are induced by a matrix coupling mechanism that goes beyond the conventional scalar-valued coupling by capturing the inter-dimensional dependence amongst multidimensional individuals, which arises naturally from physical, sociological and engineering systems. As verified by our theory, the property of the coupling matrix thoroughly affects the emergent system modes and the phase transitions toward them. By numerically demonstrating that these system modes are interchangeable through matrix manipulation, we also observe explosive synchronization/desynchronization that is induced without the conditions that are previously deemed essential. Our discovery provides theoretical analogy to the cerebral activity where the resting state and the activated state coexist unihemispherically, it also evokes a new possibility of information storage in oscillatory neural networks. A New Approach to Airborne High Resolution SAR Motion Compensation for Large Trajectory Deviations*

The Two-step algorithm (TSA) is widely used for trajectory deviation compensation of airborne Synthetic aperture radar (SAR), by which most of the motion errors are compensated before Range curve migration compensation (RCMC) and the residual after the RCMC. We found that the RCMC in the presence of the residual motion errors results in additional range shift errors hard to be compensated for. Based on theoretical investigations, this shortage of TSA is reported and a new compensation scheme which greatly alleviates the RCMC induced errors is proposed. Besides, range resampling considering the residual motion errors is very convinent, which, however, is boresome in TSA. The new method is effective to compensate the high resolution SAR systems for large trajectory deviations, which is hard to be achieved by TSA because of the uncompensated errors. Results on the simulated data are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the new method.

To solve the problem of boarding pass positioning with image tilt and sticking, we proposed a jointly boarding pass positioning and correction algorithm using multi-channel color components. First, a local threshold segmentation is performed on red and blue components in RGB color space to determine the general area of the boarding pass. Then, edge detection is performed on the blue component and pixel value standardization statistics on the three components to obtain partial edges and internal information of the boarding pass to refine the binary image. Next, the watershed algorithm is used to achieve precise positioning of the boarding pass. Finally, the segmentation and the boarding pass are completely rectified through perspective transformation. The results of segmentation and correction of boarding passes in actual scenarios show that the proposed algorithm can complete segmentation and correction under complex conditions such as boarding pass images sticking to each other, uneven illumination, and large-angle tilt. The average time spent on the test set is 0.049s, and the segmentation and correction success rate is 95.16 %. Steel plates are highly customized according to different customer demands. In this case, the outbound date, the specifications of the steel plates and the distribution of stacks must be simultaneously considered when the steel plates are stored in the yard. Improper storage of steel plates significantly increases the number of shuffles during outbound operations. To overcome the challenge, we propose an efficient steel plate storage scheme based on the actual scenario of existing steel plate distribution in the yard. Firstly, a model for steel plate storage scheduling is established to minimize the number of extra blocking plates. Then, three heuristic algorithms are designed to solve the problem. Comparative experiments are carried out to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed method can sufficiently improve the efficiency of steel plates scheduling. © 2023 IEEE.

Differential privacy is a widely used framework for evaluating privacy loss in data anonymization. While the continuous noise-adding mechanism has been extensively studied, there is a dearth of research on discrete random mechanisms for discretely distributed data. This study addresses this gap by examining the primary differential privacy conditions and properties for general discrete random mechanisms, and investigating the trade-off between data privacy and data utility. We establish sufficient and necessary conditions for discrete ϵ-differential privacy and sufficient conditions for discrete (ϵδ)-differential privacy, with closed-form expressions for differential privacy parameters. These conditions can be applied to evaluate the differential privacy properties of discrete noise-adding mechanisms with various types of noise. Moreover, we propose an optimal discrete ϵ-differential private noise-adding mechanism under the utility-maximization framework. Here, the utility is characterized by the similarity of the statistical properties between the mechanism's input and output. Our findings suggest that the optimal class of discrete noise probability distributions in the mechanism is staircase-shaped. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

With the continuous development of construction technology and computer technology, in order to meet the needs of concrete quality management, a real-time monitoring information system based on computer vision is established. The identification label is added to the concrete specimen to prevent the exchange of concrete specimens. According to the needs of the application scene, this paper proposes a new feature point extraction algorithm based on Harris. By improving the positioning accuracy of feature points, it can avoid the interference of background noise points or feature points in unclear focus area on feature matching and the calculation of projection matrix;and a few feature points are used to calibrate the camera, which overcomes the problem that the traditional camera calibration method needs to make a calibration board. Experiments show that the algorithm proposed in this paper has good stability to illumination, camera angle and distractors, and is flexible in application. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper introduces a 3D point cloud sequence learning model based on inconsistent spatio-temporal propagation for LiDAR odometry, termed DSLO. It consists of a pyramid structure with a spatial information reuse strategy, a sequential pose initialization module, a gated hierarchical pose refinement module, and a temporal feature propagation module. First, spatial features are encoded using a point feature pyramid, with features reused in successive pose estimations to reduce computational overhead. Second, a sequential pose initialization method is introduced, leveraging the high-frequency sampling characteristic of LiDAR to initialize the LiDAR pose. Then, a gated hierarchical pose refinement mechanism refines poses from coarse to fine by selectively retaining or discarding motion information from different layers based on gate estimations. Finally, temporal feature propagation is proposed to incorporate the historical motion information from point cloud sequences, and address the spatial inconsistency issue when transmitting motion information embedded in point clouds between frames. Experimental results on the KITTI odometry dataset and Argoverse dataset demonstrate that DSLO outperforms state-of-the-art methods, achieving at least a 15.67% improvement on RTE and a 12.64% improvement on RRE, while also achieving a 34.69% reduction in runtime compared to baseline methods. In the electronic industry product quality control, PCB defect detection is a crucial part, which has the characteristics of small defect size and high similarity. The existing defect detection methods are still not good enough for detecting small target defects;therefore, the algorithm in this paper proposes an improved algorithm for PCB defect detection based on the RetinaNet model. The ResNet-D residual structure and efficient channel focus module are introduced in the model backbone network to enhance its feature extraction capability and achieve the purpose of improving the detection accuracy. At the same time, the method replaces the original multi-step learning decay strategy with a cosine annealing scheduling learning strategy, which optimizes the training process of the model. Finally, the performance of the method is verified on the publicly available PCB defect dataset from the Open laboratory of Intelligent Robotics, Peking University. The experimental results show that the algorithm improves the mAP value by 3.2% compared with the original algorithm, while the fastest detection speed reaches 36.9 FPS, which can effectively improve the defect detection performance of PCB. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The efficient management of storage has become a critical determinant of operational efficiency due to the growing and diverse demand for steel logistics parks. However, the current storage methods consistently result in significant imbalances in the loading of steel products and operating times across multiple yards. To address this challenge, we propose optimizing the distribution of steel products based on demand levels and retrieval efficiency. Firstly, we present an optimization problem that employs demand-driven storage principles to formulate the scheduling of steel product storage. Then, we introduce a novel algorithm called the Adaptive Preferred Evolutionary Heuristic (APEH) to tackle this problem. The results from our experiments indicate that this model effectively enhances the storage structure, and the proposed algorithm consistently yields optimal solutions within a reasonable timeframe. © 2023 IEEE.

Sliding spotlight mode is widely used in spaceborne SAR to achieve high resolution. However, due to the difficulty for antenna beam to scan continuously, it usually works by step scanning, which leads to paired-echo in SAR images. Meanwhile, the pointing of the antenna often deviates from the preset value when scanning, resulting in an increase in the amplitude of the paired echo. This paper works on the effect of beam stepping control and pointing deviation on image quality of Ka band spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR. Firstly, the azimuth echo signal in sliding spotlight mode under the beam stepping control and pointing deviation is modeled. Then, the influence of beam stepping control and pointing deviation is analyzed by using the paired-echo theory, and the quantitative relationship between beam granularity and pointing deviation and paired-echo is presented. Finally, the validity of the theoretical analysis is verified by computer simulation. The method in this paper provides a reliable basis for the design of parameters in spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR system. © 2022 IEEE.
