Image recognition and empirical application of desert plant species based on convolutional neural network

In recent years,deep convolution neural network has exhibited excellent performance in computer vision and has a far-reaching *** plant taxonomic identification requires high expertise,which is *** nature reserves have problems such as incomplete species surveys,inaccurate taxonomic identification,and untimely updating of status *** and accurate recognition of plant images can be achieved by applying convolutional neural network technology to explore the best network *** 24 typical desert plant species that are widely distributed in the nature reserves in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China as the research objects,this study established an image database and select the optimal network model for the image recognition of desert plant species to provide decision support for fine management in the nature reserves in Xinjiang,such as species investigation and monitoring,by using deep *** desert plant species were not included in the public dataset,the images used in this study were mainly obtained through field shooting and downloaded from the Plant Photo Bank of China(PPBC).After the sorting process and statistical analysis,a total of 2331 plant images were finally collected(2071 images from field collection and 260 images from the PPBC),including 24 plant species belonging to 14 families and 22 genera.A large number of numerical experiments were also carried out to compare a series of 37 convolutional neural network models with good performance,from different perspectives,to find the optimal network model that is most suitable for the image recognition of desert plant species in *** results revealed 24 models with a recognition Accuracy,of greater than 70.000%.Among which,Residual Network X_8GF(RegNetX_8GF)performs the best,with Accuracy,Precision,Recall,and F1(which refers to the harmonic mean of the Precision and Recall values)values of 78.33%,77.65%,69.55%,and 71.26%,*** t

There is a growing trend among retailers to sell fruits through their community group-buying (CGB) channels. Based on real operational data, we employ econometric models to empirically analyze how consumer perception characteristics in CGB affect fruit sales. Our findings suggest that incorporating subjective experiences into product descriptions can positively impact fruit sales for retailers;fresh produce stores outperform regular stores in fruit sales of CGB;Dark-colored fruits sell more than light-colored fruits in the CGB channel. Our study offers valuable insights for retailers selling fruits through CGB channels. © 2024 The Authors.

The image harmonization task endeavors to adjust foreground information within an image synthesis process to achieve visual consistency by leveraging background information. In academic research, this task conventionally involves the utilization of simple synthesized images and matching masks as inputs. However, obtaining precise masks for image harmonization in practical applications poses a significant challenge, thereby creating a notable disparity between research findings and real-world applicability. To mitigate this disparity, we propose a redefinition of the image harmonization task as "Unified Image Harmonization," where the input comprises only a single image, thereby enhancing its applicability in real-world scenarios. To address this challenge, we have developed a novel framework. Within this framework, we initially employ inharmonious region localization to detect the mask, which is subsequently utilized for harmonization tasks. The pivotal aspect of the harmonization process lies in normalization, which is accountable for information transfer. Nonetheless, the current background-to-foreground information transfer and guidance mechanisms are limited by single-layer guidance, thereby constraining their effectiveness. To overcome this limitation, we introduce Region Augmented Attention Normalization (RA2N), which enhances the attention mechanism for foreground feature alignment, consequently leading to improved alignment and transfer capabilities. Through qualitative and quantitative comparisons on the iHarmony4 dataset, our model exhibits exceptional performance not only in unified image harmonization but also in conventional image harmonization tasks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Real-world decision-making tasks are generally complicated and require trade-offs between multiple, even conflicting, objectives. As the advent and great development of advanced information technology, it has evolved into using reinforcement learning (RL) algorithms to tackle the multi-objective decision making (MODM) problems. In this paper, we will first identify the basic concepts and factors when modelling the MODM tasks with reinforcement learning, and then review the traditional RL, such as Sarsa, Q-Learning, Policy Gradients, Actor-Critic, Monte-Carlo learning, and modern deep RL algorithms applied in this process. Furthermore, the specific practical scenarios described in MODM problems will be summarized through analyzing some typical articles. Finally, the future trends of multi-objective reinforcement learning will be discussed. © 2023 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V. Precise prediction of stock prices leads to more profits and more effective risk prevention, which is of great significance to both investors and regulators. Recent years, various kinds of information not directly-relevant with stock prices have received more attention, such as texts, images or connections. These external information has the potential of reflecting or influencing fluctuations, and thus, given the utilization of advanced analyzing techniques, the forecasting performance of stock prices could be promoted substantially. For instance, graph neural network models have expanded into many other disciplines including stock price prediction, and exhibited impressive representation learning ability. However, in stock markets, well-defined graphs are rarely seen and how to formulate the graph structures needed remains a challenging problem. Towards this end, this article presents a comprehensive overview of graph construction and graph learning in stock price prediction, by reviewing the existing studies, summarizing its general paradigm, special cases and proposing possible prospects. Our research not only systematically reveals the feasible ways of constructing graphs in financial markets, but also provides insights for further implementations of graph learning models into stock prediction tasks. © 2022 The Authors. This paper explores a novel multi-modal alternating learning paradigm pursuing a reconciliation between the exploitation of uni-modal features and the exploration of cross-modal interactions. This is motivated by the fact that current paradigms of multi-modal learning tend to explore multi-modal features simultaneously. The resulting gradient prohibits further exploitation of the features in the weak modality, leading to modality competition, where the dominant modality overpowers the learning process. To address this issue, we study the modality-alternating learning paradigm to achieve reconcilement. Specifically, we propose a new method called ReconBoost to update a fixed modality each time. Herein, the learning objective is dynamically adjusted with a reconcilement regularization against competition with the historical models. By choosing a KL-based reconcilement, we show that the proposed method resembles Friedman's Gradient-Boosting (GB) algorithm, where the updated learner can correct errors made by others and help enhance the overall performance. The major difference with the classic GB is that we only preserve the newest model for each modality to avoid overfitting caused by ensembling strong learners. Furthermore, we propose a memory consolidation scheme and a global rectification scheme to make this strategy more effective. Experiments over six multi-modal benchmarks speak to the efficacy of the method. We release the code at https://***/huacong/ReconBoost. Copyright 2024 by the author(s)

In recent years, the digital cryptocurrency market has witnessed rapid development, but its asset allocation function has yet to be verified. In this paper, DCC-GARCH model is used to estimate the dynamic correlation between digital cryptocurrency and current mainstream assets, and the corresponding hedging effect of digital cryptocurrency is studied. Then, three mainstream asset allocation strategies are selected to analyze the risk and return of asset allocation portfolio after adding digital cryptocurrency, which verifies the asset allocation utility of digital cryptocurrency. This study can provide investment basis for investors and has certain theoretical and practical significance. © 2022 The Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

This paper has sorted out the general logic of the impact of COVID-19 on energy consumption. In the short term, the epidemic has forced governments to adopt different levels of lockdown measures. The total electricity consumption decreased and the share of renewable energy has increased. Based on the International Energy Agency's (IEA) data on electricity production and consumption, this paper analyzes the long-term effects: The COVID-19 pandemic does affect overall electricity demand and market structure in the short term, but in the long term, the impact of the pandemic is detrimental to the proportion of electricity generated from renewable sources. Increased, especially in hard-hit countries. The impact on countries with different levels of development is different, and countries with higher levels of economic development are better able to resist such exogenous shocks. The pandemic is still ongoing, how to steadily promote sustainable development? In this paper we suggest that to cope with climate change, to accomplish energy transformation and upgrading or even sustainable development, we should not only rely on reducing human activities, but give more support to countries with low development levels in realizing sustainable development. © 2022 The Authors. As an emerging form of marketing, live streaming has a positive effect on the ability of e-Commerce platforms to attract traffic and increase sales. It has become another important competitive area in the industry. Based on an alternative learning theory model, the influencing factors of live streaming on e-Commerce platforms are studied, and the data findings can be applied to brand marketing and platform performance improvement. Quantitative and qualitative analyses were conducted using tens of thousands of live-streaming data, and the findings show that live interaction and live streamer follower accumulation have a significant positive effect on the number of sold users. Through the empirical study of real data, this paper inspires participants to fully embrace the effect of live streaming and enhance the consumer shopping experience. © 2022 The Authors.
