The rise in demand for real-time applications, such as live streaming, online gaming, and Internet telephony, has highlighted the necessity for transport protocols that offer low latency and network stability. Traditional protocols, namely Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and User Datagram Protocol (UDP), have inherent limitations. TCP ensures reliable data delivery but suffers from latency, making it unsuitable for real-time needs, while UDP provides fast data transmission but lacks congestion control, which can lead to network instability. This gap underscores the need for a protocol that combines high-speed data transfer with effective congestion management. To address this issue, the Internet engineering Task Force (IETF) introduced the Datagram Congestion Control Protocol (DCCP), designed to optimize data delivery speed while managing congestion. This study evaluates DCCP's performance against TCP in network scenarios of 8 and 16 nodes using the NS2 simulation environment. By comparing throughput and delay across various bandwidth and latency settings, the study finds that DCCP offers up to 35% higher throughput in 8-node setups and reduces packet loss by 20% in high-bandwidth scenarios. These results suggest that DCCP is well-suited for real-time applications, achieving a crucial balance between fast data transmission and network stability. © 2024 IEEE.

With the development of science and technology through social networks, the process of diffusion has become a controversial subject. In social networks, the process of diffusion is transmitted from one individual to another. The influence maximization problem, in which at least k nodes are chosen as the initial nodes of the spreader in the smallest amount of time, is one of the most critical aspects of the diffusion process. Furthermore, the initial nodes in the social network should generate the most influence on the other nodes in the network. However, in the algorithms proposed to solve the problem of influence maximization, the real-world factors which affect the influence probability in diffusion models are ignored for example, the influence probability is determined randomly. This problem causes influence maximization algorithms based on diffusion models to face the challenge of time-consuming Monte Carlo simulation. So, the RIM algorithm presented in this article which this method selects the initial nodes of the spreader according on their local reachability. In addition, Due to privacy in social networks, complete information about people such as gender, education, etc. is not available. For this reason, in the RIM algorithm, using the graph structure in social networks, the influence probability is calculated in the new DBT diffusion model. In addition, the RIM algorithm exhibits stable performance in the selection of the spreader's initial nodes in terms of influence spread, and execution time. © 2023 IEEE.

Within the domain of human-robot communication, effective communication is paramount for seamless and smooth collaboration between humans and robots. A promising method for improving language grounding is reinforcement learning (RL), which enables robots to translate spoken commands into suitable behaviors. This paper presents a comprehensive review of recent advancements in RL techniques applied to the task of language grounding in human-robot interaction, focusing specifically on instruction following. Key challenges in this domain include the ambiguity of natural language, the complexity of action spaces, and the need for robust and interpretable models. Various RL algorithms and architectures tailored for language grounding tasks are discussed, highlighting their strengths and limitations. Furthermore, real-world applications and experimental results are examined, showcasing the effectiveness of RL-based approaches in enabling robots to understand and execute instructions from human users. Finally, promising directions for future research are identified, emphasizing the importance of addressing scalability, generalization, and adaptability in RL-based language grounding systems for human-robot interaction. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper focuses on how to use continuous integration (CI) and continuous Delivery (CD) methodology in DevOps to reduce the developer-operator gap. It also, shows how CI can be a CD bridge. The paper review DevOps and analyze strategies, methodologies, issues, and processes identified for the adoption and implementation of continuing practices. The result of our case studies shows the benefits, and advantages of using CI/CD in software development. Furthermore, this paper presents DevOps as a new model for reducing the gaps between development (Dev) and operations (ops). The Azure tool is used as DevOps CI/CD for the empowerment of continuous delivery of software to enable rapid and frequent releases, this enables rapid responses to changing customer requirements and thus it may be a decisive competitive advantage. This paper also measures the effectiveness of using CI/CD for reducing the time and effort in software development. We also, focus on the DevOps initiative to benefit of CI/CD and to effect of enhances flexibility in delivering the program with the expected quality on time to determine the areas that bridge the gap between Continuous Integration for Continuous Delivery. The methodology used in this paper by exploring and tracking a project developed by the company using the Azure software development tool. Presently, the global proliferation of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and applications has accelerated owing to their advantages in enhancing the business and industrial environment, as well as the daily lives of individuals. Nevertheless, IoT devices are vulnerable to malevolent network traffic, which can lead to undesirable outcomes and disrupt the operation of IoT devices. Consequently, it is imperative to devise a screening method for network traffic to identify and categorize malicious activity and reduce its harmful effects. In this regard, the present study proposes a framework and thoroughly compares single and ensemble machine learning models that are using predictive analytics to detect and classify network activity in an IoT network. Specifically, our framework and models distinguish between normal and anomalous network activity. Furthermore, network traffic is classified into eight categories, normal, denial of service (DoS) attack, Scan attack, Data Type Probing, Malicious Operation, Malicious Control, Spying attack and Wrong Setup based attack. The special focus of this paper is in identifying privacy related attacks in comparison with main cybersecurity related ones. Several supervised machine learning models have been herein implemented to characterize their performance in detecting and classifying network activities for IoT Networks based on the ensemble learning framework as well as on the single learning machines framework. Moreover, classifiers based on the statistical learning theory framework are herein involved too, including hybrid Bayesian theory models, decision trees (DT) and the ordinal Learning Modelling approach. The statistical pattern recognition based models as well as all supervised learning machines models have been evaluated on a broad benchmark dataset for IoT attacks. In an era of heightened digital interconnectedness, businesses increasingly rely on third-party vendors to enhance their operational capabilities. However, this growing dependency introduces significant security risks, making it crucial to develop a robust framework to mitigate potential vulnerabilities. This paper proposes a comprehensive secure framework for managing third-party vendor risk, integrating blockchain technology to ensure transparency, traceability, and immutability in vendor assessments and interactions. By leveraging blockchain, the framework enhances the integrity of vendor security audits, ensuring that vendor assessments remain up-to-date and tamperproof. This proposed framework leverages smart contracts to reduce human error while ensuring real-time monitoring of compliance and security controls. By evaluating critical security controls - such as data encryption, access control mechanisms, multi-factor authentication, and zero-trust architecture - this approach strengthens an organization's defense against emerging cyber threats. Additionally, continuous monitoring enabled by blockchain ensures the immutability and transparency of vendor compliance processes. In this paper, a case study on iHealth's transition to AWS Cloud demonstrates the practical implementation of the framework, showing a significant reduction in vulnerabilities and marked improvement in incident response times. Through the adoption of this blockchain-enabled approach, organizations can mitigate vendor risks, streamline compliance, and enhance their overall security posture. Our findings highlight the importance of employing blockchain to enforce security controls and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Emergency management and evacuation efficiency is important to ensure the safety of faculty and students in college. Teaching buildings are typically of multiple stories. When classes are in session, a teaching building may have a large number of students inside. In case of an event like a fire, people have to be evacuated as soon as possible. Due to panic, people may not use good judgement to choose optimal evacuation path, which can further cause congestion in a path to an exit. This study attempts to leverage the recent advances in information technology to dynamically guide evacuees. We use generalized stochastic Petri nets (GSPN) to model the evacuation process in a teaching building. The layout of the building, sizes of classrooms and hallways, number of people in each room, and people's decision pattern in choosing a direction to move are all parameters of the model. With simulation we can estimate the evacuation time-span. Moreover, by observing the state of GSPN model, we can analyze the congestion status of each simulated pathway, and based on that we can dynamically notify people to select the right path that lead them to an exit with the least amount of time. © 2022 IEEE.

Access to building data is crucial for creating portable applications and improving building operation and energy efficiency. Ensuring data transmutability is essential for facilitating research and overcoming the diverse data representation, management, and collection methods across various building management systems (BMSs). Different BMSs use multiple interfaces for data exchange. Some BMSs provide Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) for data exchanges, while others have gateways connecting to cloud services for application subscription and data access. This study introduces a five-layered architecture that describes how client applications, researchers, and other interested stakeholders can exchange data with different BMSs. Our objective is to help researchers and practitioners understand the various ways of accessing transmutable (capable of being transformed into a compatible format) data from BMSs, regardless of the building management system a building uses. Through transmutable access to building systems' data, we aim to enable transferable energy-efficient-related applications for buildings. We evaluate our work with a building model of the Varennes Library in Varennes, QC, Canada. The building model includes information about the building, floors, rooms, electric meter and historical time series data of the meter, weather station and its historical time series data. The model also has carbon dioxide concentration sensors, temperature sensors, humidity sensors, and historical time series data of the sensors. We include two test client programs to show how they access the transmutable data of the building through a model. We conclude that the five-layered architecture facilitates the exchange of transmutable data across diverse BMSs, making it a valuable tool for researchers and practitioners. © 2024 IEEE.
