This paper evaluates and compares the performance of various image denoising techniques, including wavelet transform, Wiener filtering, non-local means (NLM), denoising autoencoders (DAEs), and feedforward autoencoders. There are cases of additive and multiplicative noises considered where the Gaussian distribution with zero mean stands for the first case and an exponential distribution with unity mean describes the second case (speckle). The experiments have been conducted on the given dataset which contained both still test images and synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images with varying noise levels to analyze the effectiveness of these denoising approaches. The performance of each method is assessed using key image quality metrics: Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), Mean Squared Error (MSE), and Normalized Absolute Error (NAK). The results demonstrate that denoising autoencoders DAEs provide superior performance in terms of structural preservation and noise reduction, particularly in low-noise conditions, while Wiener filtering proves to be computationally efficient and robust under high-noise conditions. These findings offer insights into the selection of effective denoising techniques for noisy images based on specific noise characteristics and application requirements.

This paper describes the new method of pulse sequence stabilization which can be applied to different tasks of automatics and energetics. The originality of the method comes to using state estimators of pulses on the base of the probabilistic relay. The pulse sequence is observed on the complex background including multiplicative and low frequency interferences and additive white noise. The results of simulation modeling with rectangular and bell's shaped pulses have shown that the suggested method provides sure restoration both magnitude and form of pulses with reasonable relative errors for different noise and interference combinations. © 2019 IEEE.

The paper is devoted to synthesizing the structure of a noise-invariant analog-to-digital converter of pulses having random lengths and moments of appearing and distorted by low- frequency interference and white noise with a normal distribution law. The main idea is based on using a simple Markov chain with two states to describe a sequence of changes in the states of pulse with respect to any of the allowed levels of quantization. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents an approach to implementing a cloud-based smart home monitoring system using the ESP32 microcontroller and ThingSpeak as the cloud platform. The proposed system provides an efficient solution for real-time monitoring of various environmental parameters, which are collected through sensors connected to the ESP32 and transmitted wirelessly to the ThingSpeak cloud. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT), this system enables users to remotely monitor their home environment from anywhere using a web interface. This work presents an approach that uses normalized innovations squared (NIS) test to determine the order of a local polynomial trend model of a humidity sensor signal. Compared to the classical Akaike information criterion which balances model fit and model complexity NIS test allows to determine the lowest order of the model at which a consistent Bayesian estimation is possible. This approach is useful when signal processing algorithms, such as those for data fusion in multi-sensor systems, contain a Kalman filter, because a successful NIS test is a prerequisite for normal filter operation. The results of the study show that the response of the SHT31-DIS sensor under a step change in humidity is adequately described by a second-order local polynomial model, and this implies a consistent estimation for other input variations. © 2022 IEEE.

Sensor signal tracking has great practical importance for solving a number of problems such as data fusion and sensor integration in multi-sensor systems (MSS), robotics, fault detection (FD), and diagnosis, etc. The Kalman filter is a widely used algorithm that can be applied in these cases if an appropriate model of the signal is available. The present study shows that under a step change in humidity, the filter can estimate the signal from a humidity sensor by means of a second-order local polynomial model. This gives a reason to expect similar behavior not only for sudden but also for all other changes. The proposed online signal tracking solution is simple to implement and can be used not only for humidity sensors, but also for sensors that measure quantities such as temperature, pressure, level, etc. © 2022 IEEE.

The paper presents the results of preliminary research into the propagation of common-mode excitation of electrostatic discharge along the conductors of the shielded power supply (PS) bus. To investigate signal propagation, we chose nine intervals, and detected and localized signal extreme points for the case when the exciting signals are located in the end branch conductors of the PS bus. It was revealed, that the voltage maximum was 213 V and is located in the multi-conductor transmission line (MCTL) section nearest to the source of the signal. © 2020 IEEE.

A streaming process discovery method for semi-structured business processes is proposed. The method is further development of the Fuzzy Miner which originally was intended for stationary event data sets. The streaming Fuzzy Miner supports concept drift of a business process model so that recent events are considered more important as the earlier ones. In this work, with help of a software package implemented in Python, at the first stage, a finite element calculation of the temperature fields and thermoelastic stress fields formed during the processing of quartz glass plates by laser splitting was performed. At the second stage, based on the data obtained as a result of finite element modeling, the parameters of laser cutting of quartz plates were approximated using artificial neural networks. Neural networks and their training algorithms were implemented using the Keras library. At the third stage, the search for optimal laser cutting parameters was carried out using the author's genetic algorithm using the constructed neural network approximators. Finite element modeling in the developed software package was implemented using the FEniCS library and verified by comparing the obtained results with the corresponding values of maximum temperatures and thermoelastic stresses in the laser processing zone of quartz plates, determined using the APDL programming language in the Ansys software package. © 2024 IEEE.

The article discusses probable methods for designing measuring channels (further they will be referred to as MC) of automation systems for industrial facilities based on statistical criteria. A brief review of the design of measuring channels according to circuit design, metrological and statistical criteria is given. The main task of such designs is the selection and justification of the structural circuit type of the measuring channel (direct conversion channel, balanced channel), the selection of mathematical models for typical transducer links, the selection and mathematical description of interfering signals (additive and multiplicative interference caused by instability of the basic links of the measuring channel, description of random interference in the form of probability density). The ultimate goal of these procedures is to find the confidence interval (uncertainty interval) of the measuring channel as a whole. In this study common expressions were delivered for evaluating the probable result of a technological process with the help of MC. In most cases theses expressions were reduced to short formulas. For more complex expressions the numerical method was used and the results are demonstrated in charts. The 'convolution' method was used to solve the task of this study. © 2019 IEEE.
