In response to existing limitations, a novel convolutional neural network (CNN) model tailored for facial attribute estimation is introduced in this study. The methodology encompasses meticulous data preprocessing techniques, including dataset splitting, resizing, cleaning, augmentation, and cropping, to ensure the integrity of the dataset. Through rigorous real-world testing, remarkable accuracy in predicting gender, height, weight, and basal metabolic rate (BMR) from facial photos is demonstrated by our CNN architecture. Notably, unlike conventional approaches where BMR is directly estimated from facial images, three output neurons are employed by our model to simultaneously predict gender, height, and weight, which are sub-sequently utilized for BMR calculation. A primary contribution is made through the development of a comprehensive methodology that advances the reliability of facial attribute estimation by achieving an outstanding accuracy of 98.50% on our dataset named Face-ete and a commendable accuracy of 88.29% on another dataset. Our model outperforms the second-best model by percentage relative improvement factors of 2.19 and 4.28 in terms of BMR prediction accuracy for the 'Faceere' and the other dataset, respectively. This work represents a significant step forward in the field of facial attribute estimation. © 2024 IEEE.

Parkinson’s disease (PD) is a progressive neurodegenerative condition characterized by the death of dopaminergic neurons, leading to various movement disorder symptoms. Early diagnosis of PD is crucial to prevent adverse effects, yet traditional diagnostic methods are often cumbersome and costly. In this study, a machine learning-based approach is proposed using hand-drawn spiral and wave images as potential biomarkers for PD detection. Our methodology leverages convolutional neural networks (CNNs), transfer learning, and attention mechanisms to improve model performance and resilience against overfitting. To enhance the diversity and richness of both spiral and wave categories, the training dataset undergoes augmentation to increase the number of images. The proposed architecture comprises three phases: utilizing pre-trained CNNs, incorporating custom convolutional layers, and ensemble voting. Employing hard voting further enhances performance by aggregating predictions from multiple models. Experimental results show promising accuracy rates. For spiral images, weighted average precision, recall, and F1-score are 90%, and for wave images, they are 96.67%. After combining the predictions through ensemble hard voting, the overall accuracy is 93.3%. These findings underscore the potential of machine learning in early PD diagnosis, offering a non-invasive and cost-effective solution to improve patient outcomes. ©2024 IEEE.

Federated Learning (FL) is considered as a suitable paradigm for intelligent data analytics over Internet of Thing (IoT) devices. While the data-privacy preserving feature of FL is useful, the lack of data auditing abilities of the participating IoTs creates a potential attack surface. To this end, a potential attacker can perform data/model poisoning attacks on the FL. To protect from such attacks, a popular theoretically proven algorithm for FL namely, Krum [1] was proposed. From an implementation perspective, the Krum algorithm needs to be provided with apriori information such as the total number of attackers in each round, which is impractical. It is not feasible to know, in advance, which of the participating IoT clients are attackers. Furthermore, in the presence of mobile Parameter Server (PS) which stays in the WiFi coverage area consisting of stationary clients for an unknown time, the implementation of Krum algorithm in such practical setting is not investigated, to the best of our knowledge. With an aim to provide a practical implementation of a resilient FL framework, for the first time, this paper investigates the sensitivity of the attackers information towards the robustness offered by the Krum-based FL algorithm. The insights gained from the sensitivity analysis are used to develop a novel and Practical algorithm of Krum (PraaKrum) for FL for a WiFi network with mobile PS. The developed analysis is helpful in both understanding the key resilient characteristics offered by the Krum algorithm and providing the research community with a guideline towards the practical implementation of the attacker-resilient Krum-based FL algorithm in a mobile wireless setting. © 2024 IEEE.

Peer instruction is instructional in guiding students to learn by answering questions, and explaining and discussing their answers with peers. Researchers recommended asking students to write down their answers and explanations before discussion to prevent social loafing. In addition, text-based explanations can be recorded and analyzed. The quality of students' explanations varies, ranging from superficial and low-quality to detailed and in-dept. high-quality explanations. In tradition, the qualities of students' explanations were assessed by experts. Recently, machine learning classification models have been developed and applied to classify texts. However, the level of explanations of questions are question-dependent. Thus, each question needs its classification model. Therefore, a feature transformation was applied in this study so that the explanations of different questions could be combined and applied to train the same classification model. An automated explanation quality assessment mechanism was developed based on the similarity of representative explanations of different qualities. Students' text-based explanations were collected and assessed by experts into four levels, ranging from 0 (worst) to 3 (best). The four-level classifications were merged into binary classifications of low (0 and 1) and high (2 and 3). Different classification models, including Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naive Bayes (NB), K Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Logistic Regression (LR), Random Forest (RF), and Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) were applied to train models and evaluate the accuracy of the models. In addition, three ensemble learning algorithms, including voting, stacking, and boosting, were applied to combine models chosen from SVM, NB, KNN, LR, and RF. The results showed that RF and RF+KNN+NB with stacking model showed the best accuracy (75.3%) among all four-level classification models whereas RF with boosting model showed the best accuracy (9

Hypertension and stroke are significant worldwide health issues with high prevalence and complex health hazards. Hypertensive state implications include death or major complications such as myocardial infarction. This study leverages data from the Internet to foresee the prognosis for individuals with hypertensive strokes. There are two main components to the clinical outcome prediction in this study. The value of various variables is ranked by our model through the use of cross-validation techniques, recursive feature disposal, and classification algorithms such as Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and Logistic Regression (LR). Our empirical cross-validation results demonstrate the remarkable predictive reliability of both LR and RF once repetitive features are removed, even with a smaller set of features and classifiers. Particularly in terms of accuracy, F1 score, and area under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC), logistic regression performs better than the other two classifiers. Likewise, we conducted independent prediction analyses for hypertension, hypertensive stroke, and stroke. The highest result of 96.15% is obtained using logistic regression for stroke prediction. The random forest classifier has an accuracy of 91.25% for hypertension, and combining stroke with a hypertension support vector classifier gives 91.72% accuracy. This demonstrates how well it might provide patients with hypertensive strokes with precise and trustworthy projections. Finally, our study illuminates the potentially useful prediction powers of particular algorithms in determining the prognosis of patients with hypertensive strokes. © 2024 IEEE.

Sybil attacks pose a significant threat to the security and integrity of online social networks by allowing malicious actors to create multiple fake identities to manipulate network behavior. The abstract outlines a method for detecting Sybil attacks in online social networks using graph analysis. It involves constructing a graph representation of the network, calculating node centrality measures such as in-degree and out-degree, and setting a degree threshold to identify potentially malicious nodes. Additional parameters like clustering coefficient and community structure are also considered to improve detection accuracy. The proposed approach aims to enhance the security of online social networks by identifying and isolating Sybil identities, thus preserving network integrity and trustworthiness. The authors' firmly assert that employing graph-based theory for Sybil node detection in online social networks stands out as one of the most effective methods. This approach not only offers robustness but also scalability, allowing for efficient detection even in large-scale networks. With its ability to unveil intricate relationships, anomalies, and patterns within the network, graph-based theory emerges as a cornerstone in the fight against Sybil attacks. © 2024 IEEE.

In the current restaurant business environment, factors have emerged in the manner in which consumers are attended to and the ways orders are placed. As good as these traditional systems may be, they do not offer the optimum flexibility and consumer convergence that today's client demands for fast and convenient services. Recent approaches using only basic form of automation and rule-based chatbots do offer some enhancements but lack adequate capabilities to deal with huge volumes of orders, custom recommendations and scalability according to demand. Further, the existing systems have problems with scalability, versatility to different customers' trends and needs, and real-time interactions. To overcome these challenges our work, will utilize modern advances in artificial intelligence and cloud technology. The proposed system uses Amazon Lex for NLU, A WS Lambda for processing multiple booking requests simultaneously without any intervention from the users and Amazon Polly for making interaction more interactive with personalized audio. In addition, Amazon Rekognition and A WS S3 for images will be used for analysis of images and proper storage of data respectively, enhancing the customer satisfaction by recommending products based on a past order. All these technologies integrated with A WS ecosystem in our solution will provide convenience, efficiency and passion to restaurant business proprietors to fulfill the increasing demands of modern customer. The system also supports linkage with some commonly used applications such as WhatsApp, guaranteeing that the customers receive timely updates. Thus, this solution is designed to create an improved status of restaurant ordering and eliminate the problematic experiences placed in current schemes. © 2024 IEEE.

Diabetic retinopathy is a retinal disease that leads to vision impairment in people suffering from diabetes mellitus. Early detection of disease requires expert supervision and computer diagnosis systems to avoid vision loss. Diabetic Retinopathy grading is suffering from small lesions and data imbalance problems. In this work, we proposed a VGG based attentive ensemble Network (VGGAE-Net) for the classification of diabetes Retinopathy. We have also utilized the two attention blocks channel attention module and class attention module with extracted feature maps from the CNN. Then their prediction outputs are combined to provide the final output for the classification task. The experiment shows that the ensemble approach of two attention blocks with VGG model gives 96.66% accuracy as compared to the existing recent models. © 2024 IEEE.

At its core, quantum computing is a fastdeveloping technology that has the potential to process massive volumes of data at high speeds. Some factoring issues may be difficult for the classical computer to solve because of the nature of the factoring. Quantum computing data connections are carried out using optical fiber at a distance as short as possible. While using the E91 protocol for quantum key distribution in a wireless network communication channel, we may extend the distance over which keys are sent. How to design a wireless communication channel for use in quantum computing applications. Using this technology, we are now investigating the development of a broadcast channel that will enhance the data transmission range while maintaining high security and minimizing time consumption. In our technique, we employed polarization multiplexing to communicate across a broadcast channel satellite connection, which allowed us to share data between the transmitter and receiver at the same time. The transfer key is protected by the use of polarization multiplexing and the E91 protocol, both of which are implemented. In a security network, it is used to create an extended communication channel distance between two nodes. In the end, we can meet our goal in this study by comparing the existing method to the performance analysis shown in a graph. © 2023 IEEE.

The proliferation of phishing URLs has experienced rapid growth in recent years, necessitating urgent attention to phishing attack detection in cybersecurity. In response, we introduce an improved predictive model that leverages both machine learning and a Deep Learning Model. Our dataset consists of 88,674 instances, encompassing 112 features, including the class level. Notably, this dataset comprises 58,000 legitimate instances and 30,647 phishing *** proposed method incorporates six distinct algorithms: Decision Tree, Support Vector Machine, K-nearest neighbors, Logistic Regression, Ensemble Classifier, and Neural Network algorithm. we systematically evaluated total 28 models performance with different types of feature changes. Following enhancements, every algorithm demonstrated an accuracy performance surpassing 93.16%. Among them, the Ensemble Classifier emerged as the most effective, boasting an accuracy 97.45%, MCC 94.37%, precision a96.35%, and an F1 Score 96.31%. © 2024 IEEE.
