Sound event detection is pivotal in various applications, including environmental monitoring and surveillance systems, enhancing situational awareness and response strategies. This paper investigates the intricacies of overlapping sound events, where multiple events occur concurrently, creating complexities in accurate detection. Traditional methods falter when confronted with this challenge, necessitating advanced approaches. This research pursues two primary objectives: comprehensive review of existing overlapping sound event detection methodologies and exploration of innovative solutions to enhance accuracy and robustness. Through meticulous analysis of prior research, this paper offers insights into field progress and identifies unexplored areas. Subsequent sections dissect existing methodologies, evaluating their strengths and limitations, and addressing challenges in common evaluation metrics and datasets. This paper contributes to the advancement of sound event detection technology, particularly in complex audio environments, promoting better solutions for real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Workplace injuries are a critical concern, with millions occurring annually, leading to substantial human and economic costs. This study focuses on a qualitative analysis based on statistics from 2013 to 2017, with a specific emphasis on fatal and non-fatal workplace accidents within the European Union (EU) and Romania. The primary objective is to assess Romania's workplace safety status in the context of the EU and to propose strategic measures for improvement. To achieve this goal, four key indicators and statistical datasets are utilized, sourced from the National Institute of Statistics (NIS) of Romania, the Eurostat database of the European Commission, and the Romanian Labor Inspection. These indicators include the rate of incidence frequency index for occupational accidents, the average duration index, the frequency index for fatal accidents, and the severity index, enabling a comprehensive evaluation of accident frequency and severity. The rate of incidence, measuring injuries per 100,000 workers, is a pivotal indicator. Additionally, the study calculates the frequency index of non-fatal accidents (injuries per 1,000 employees) and the fatal accident frequency index (injuries per 1,000 workers). Statistical findings are rigorously validated through ANOVA analysis and T-tests. Following data evaluation, the study offers strategic recommendations informed by national and European strategies, including the National Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Strategy for 2017-2020 and the "EU Strategic Framework on Health and Safety at Work"spanning 2014 to 2020. Oral cancer is a significant global health concern, often leading to high mortality rates due to late-stage diagnosis and the lack of effective early detection methods. Despite advances in medical science, the absence of reliable early diagnostic tools remains a critical challenge. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) has emerged as a powerful noninvasive technology, capturing detailed spectral information across a wide range of wavelengths. This allows for accurate differentiation between cancerous and healthy tissues, improving early detection and enhancing treatment outcomes. In this study, we propose the use of HSI for early oral cancer diagnosis. To address the scarcity of labeled data, we developed a synthetic hyperspectral dataset that includes spectral signatures of both normal and cancerous tissues. The dataset was generated using a bilinear mixing model, with key spectral features extracted through Vertex Component Analysis (VCA) and abundances computed using Non-Negative Least Squares (NNLS). The model's performance was evaluated using Spectral angle distance (SAD) and Root mean square error (RMSE) metrics. Our findings demonstrate that HSI significantly improves the accuracy of early oral cancer detection, outperforming traditional methods. This work highlights the potential of advanced imaging technologies in revolutionizing cancer diagnosis, offering a robust framework for non-invasive detection and showcasing the effectiveness of synthetic datasets in medical imaging research. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper proposes a Content Attention Ontology (CAO) robot for constructing Taiwanese/English Knowledge Graphs (KGs) by prompting audio or texts to Large Language Models (LLMs), including TAIDE, Zephyr, and Llama 3.1. The collected data includes lecture videos from the IEEE WCCI 2024 in Japan and the 2024 National Language Development Forum in Taiwan, along with students' learning data from the 2024 Summer School on Taiwanese/English Human and Robot Co-Learning at Rende Elementary School (RDES). In addition, the fundamental concepts of Computational Intelligence (CI) and Quantum CI (QCI) learning were incorporated into the study. The generative KGs highlight important concepts, relations, and communities within the collected teaching and learning data. Additionally, we utilized data from subjects wearing braincomputer interface (BCI) devices while speaking Taiwanese/English to generate KGs. We also compared the differences in these KGs and analyzed the similarities between the transcribed texts of lectures and learners. In the future, we plan to expand the CAO robot to more validation fields across Taiwan, aiming to engage young students in speaking Taiwanese while concurrently enhancing their English language skills through interaction with the robot. © 2024 IEEE.

Cloud computing enables on-demand computation on remote servers and computers. Thanks to the adaptability and scalability of the infrastructure for data storage, processing, and management. To solve the security problems arising in cloud identity management techniques such as, dependency on a third-party token provider, leakage of user's details, single point of failure, etc., decentralized cloud identity management systems came into the picture. Blockchain is a decentralized database providing immutability and transparency to recorded transaction data. The current token-based decentralized cloud identity management systems have limitations, including the absence of data access management procedures and a lack of security features. This paper suggests a Blockchain based Secure Cloud Identity and Access Management (BSCIAM) model for secure identity and access management, utilizing encryption and key sharing techniques. The proposed model has been implemented using Ethereum smart contracts for token-based identity management. © 2024 IEEE.

Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic lung disease that constitutes one of the top 10 global causes of death. Timely and precise identification of TB is critical, as untreated cases can pose life-threatening risks. Traditional radiographic interpretation by trained professionals is subjective, time-consuming, and prone to human error. This study proposes an automated deep learning-based approach for TB detection from chest X-ray images, based on EfficientNet-B0 architecture. The Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) extracts discriminative features, allowing it to differentiate between normal and abnormal lung patterns indicative of TB. Our choice of the EfficientNet-B0 architecture played a pivotal role in the success of our TB detection model. Training and evaluation were conducted on three distinct datasets: Tuberculosis (TB) Chest X-ray Database, Shenzhen Hospital CXR Set, and Montgomery County CXR Set. The key breakthrough is attaining an accuracy of 99.29% on the Tuberculosis (TB) Chest X-ray Database and 98.50% on the combined dataset. This study presents a promising approach for automated TB screening using readily available chest X-ray images, potentially improving diagnostic accuracy and efficiency, especially in resource-limited settings. We compared our scores with those of other works and found that ours significantly outperforms them. © 2024 IEEE.

Leukemia, a cancer characterized by the rapid overproduction of abnormal blood cells, presents notable diagnostic and treatment challenges. Identifying leukemia subtypes promptly and accurately is vital for devising effective treatments and improving patient outcomes. This study proposes an advanced Inception V3 model optimized for the automatic identification of leukemia from microscopic images of blood smears. By integrating cutting-edge deep learning methods and a customized model architecture, this system differentiates between Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL), Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL), Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (CML), and healthy samples. The model benefits from preprocessing techniques like image resizing, normalization, and augmentation to enhance its performance. Through transfer learning, the Inception V3 model is fine-tuned on a rich dataset covering various leukemia subtypes. Experimental results demonstrate the model's high effectiveness, achieving 100% accuracy during training and 99.72% accuracy in testing, proving the system's reliability for automated leukemia detection. © 2024 IEEE.

A 4×4 CPW MIMO Antenna array with an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) reflector is presented for Wi-Fi7 access point on a metal wall application in the study. The 10-dB impedance of the integrated MIMO antenna array covers the Wi-Fi 7 operating bands, and the transmission coefficients are under -15 dB in the whole Wi-Fi7 bands. This proposed integrated MIMO antenna is low profile and has good total radiation efficiency (over 60%). The height of the integrated MIMO antenna array is 6.325 mm. © 2024 IEEE.

The accelerating digital transformation in retail necessitates advanced analytical approaches to effectively comprehend and predict consumer behavior. Existing methodologies in retail data mining often fall short in handling the complexity and heterogeneity of data, resulting in suboptimal predictive accuracy and operational efficiency. This work addresses these limitations by introducing a novel deep learning framework that synergizes the capabilities of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs) with Q Learning and VARMAx models. The proposed model adept.y fuses data from diverse sources such as Twitter, Amazon, Facebook, and Flipkart, creating a comprehensive analysis platform. By leveraging the relational data structure processing power of GNNs and the dynamic decision-making proficiency of Q Learning, along with the time series predictive strength of VARMAx models, this approach offers a more holistic understanding of consumer trends. The efficacy of this model is demonstrated through extensive testing on varied data samples encompassing social media, e-commerce platforms, and tweets. The results are compelling: an 8.3% increase in accuracy, 8.5% enhancement in precision, 6.5% improvement in recall, and a significant 10.4% reduction in delay compared to existing classification methods. The impact of this work is far-reaching, offering retailers a robust tool for strategic decision-making, enhanced customer insight, and a competitive edge in the rapidly evolving digital marketplace. This approach not only propels the retail industry forward but also sets a new benchmark in the application of deep learning for consumer behavior analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

From small businesses to major corporations, Cloud computing is quickly taking over as the preferred platform. due to the obligation to guarantee that cloud apps are safe and can shield data from unauthorized attackers. According to the joint responsibility model of Cloud Security, organizations who utilize these services are also responsible for maintaining their degree of security while service providers are responsible for making sure that their services are safe. A shared responsibility Paradigm for identity and access management transfers part of the client's responsibility for application security. Setting up procedures for identity management and access control as well as carrying out ethical hacking and penetration testing are required to guarantee the greatest degree of data security. Since Cloud Security has developed into a shared duty between the user and the service provider, clients are now required to take accountability for the security of their applications in the cloud. IaaS and PaaS services are the major beneficiaries of this. Advanced security procedures like ethical hacking and penetration testing are necessary to provide a safe virtual environment. Organizations will be able to avoid harmful assaults and data leaks thanks to these efforts. Raising risk visibility, identifying vulnerabilities, minimizing risks, and gathering crucial telemetry data are the greatest ways to enhance security. The primary goal of this study article is to assess the techniques for designing a framework or checklist to identify associated risks & vulnerabilities while at the same time attacking cloud-based applications. As a consequence, malicious actors will be kept out of cloud-based programs. © 2024 IEEE.
