Retinal blood vessel segmentation is an essential component in the diagnosis and monitoring of various ophthalmological conditions, such as diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma or macular degeneration, providing valuable information about the state of blood vessels and ocular blood circulation. Traditional methods for segmenting blood vessels from retinal images present certain limitations in terms of accuracy and robustness, especially under variable lighting conditions, the presence of artifacts or low-quality images. However, current techniques based on convolutional neural networks have demonstrated the ability to achieve precise and robust segmentations in a variety of conditions, outperforming traditional methods. Nevertheless, neural networks face challenges regarding the limited availability of retinal image datasets necessary for training and evaluating these solutions. In this paper we describe a solution for retinal blood vessel segmentation using the U-Net architecture. This neural network achieves impressive results even with very small datasets, demonstrating the efficiency and robustness of the U-Net architecture for retinal blood vessel segmentation.

Worldwide, autism affects 1 in 100 children, with diagnoses steadily rising since the 2000s. Romania lacks official statistics on autism prevalence, but global estimates suggest similarity. Children with autism struggle with social interactions and verbal communication, prompting interest in social robots for therapy and education. Tailored robot-assisted sessions offer potential for cognitive development, vocabulary enhancement, social interaction, and behavioral stimulation like concentration and attention. The NAO robot's user-friendly design, technical capabilities, and integrated features make it well-suited for these purposes. This paper presents activities that exemplify the concept of “learning through play,” allowing children to engage in exploration, experimentation, and effective learning in an enjoyable manner.

The purpose of the work is to investigate the possibilities of soft-start devices with gate turn-off thyristors in electric drives of bow thrusters with adjustable propeller pitch to increase reliability, reduce mechanical shocks and currents, and improve electromagnetic compatibility with the ship's electrical power plant. The characteristic features of these drives are operation on fan load and the need for a smooth start in a sufficiently short time to reduce impact torque in the mechanism. As a result of the analysis, a solution with a shunt capacitor is proposed, which provides high accuracy of regulation of the 1st harmonic of the voltage on the motor according to the given law. The minimum value of the capacitor capacity was found, which for the ABB/AMD710L8T motor with a capacity of 2.7 MW is 150-250 μF at switching frequencies from 500 to 1000 Hz. For the first time, the dependences of the GTO switching frequency on the capacitor capacity and the coefficient of harmonic distortion of the current in the stator phase of the selected motor were found. Frequencies are obtained that correspond to the actual physical characteristics of the GTO (500-1000 Hz). At such switching frequencies, the characteristics of the soft start device practically do not differ from the ideal regulator of the phase voltage of an asynchronous motor. This makes it possible to synthesize closed systems with stabilization of the main coordinates of soft starter electric drive, two-circuit systems with the formation of a given tachogram with torque limitation. All this makes it feasible to implement soft start devices based on gate turn-off thyristors. © 2023 IEEE.

The technology that allows to decreasing the set of steganalytical methods that determine the payload value in the image spatial domain using quantitative detectors of Least Significant Bits steganography. It consists of mathematical model, an algorithm for implementing the model and computer program. The mathematical apparatus of regression analysis is used. The results of the development and testing of the technique for reducing the set of steganalytical methods taking into account the accuracy and reliability to the diminution of the computational complexity of steganalytical expertise are presented. © 2022 IEEE.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization). Demand response is expected to play a fundamental role in providing flexibility for balancing operations to the grid. On the other hand, the fast electrification of the transportation sector calls for new solutions to enforce safe and reliable grid operation. Here we consider an electric vehicle charging station that participates in demand response programs. The demand response program asks for a change of the charging station load profile in exchange for a monetary reward. A stochastic receding horizon scheme that exploits the charging flexibility is then designed to optimally coordinate vehicle charging. Numerical simulations show that the proposed approach ensures substantial cost reduction compared to simpler benchmarks while maintaining the computation time feasible for real-world applications.

This paper introduces the Transient Predictor and describes how it can be used to estimate the Multistep Predictor, which can be applied to applications such as Data-Driven Predictive control (DDPC). The Transient Predictor has two desirable traits that differentiate it from other methods for estimating the Multistep Predictor, such as the standard Subspace Predictor method: 1) Causality-the Transient Predictor asserts a causal relationship between future inputs and future outputs; and 2) Bias-the Transient Predictor is a consistent predictor of future outputs. This paper provides an easy-toimplement algorithm for estimating the Transient Predictor and in turn the Multistep Predictor, and demonstrates its efficacy for DDPC. In experiments, we find that the Transient Predictorbased DDPC performs remarkably well with small lead-in data lengths, indicating that it is well-suited for tasks in which large amounts of data are not available. In addition, the Transient Predictor is not afflicted by the same bias as subspace-based methods when data is gathered in closed loop.

In this work, an algorithm for route discovery in Cellular IP networks using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), has been proposed. According to the proposed algorithm, out of many paths available from the gateway of the network to the final destination, the one that satisfies the desired QoS has been selected. Two important QoS parameters, path loss and processing time at the router (Base Station), have been considered. The experimental results for both the QoS parameters reveal efficacy of the proposed algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

It has been revealed that in the conditions of small-scale production of discrete-analog filters on switched capacitors and ADC-drivers, it is most advisable to design high-speed operational amplifiers (OAs) based on the CBJT technological route and the MH2XA031 array chip, which allows operation in conditions of low temperatures and exposure to radiation. It has been established that most commercially produced $O A s$ provide an average value of the slew rate (SR, up to $200 \div 300 \mathrm{~V} / \mu \mathrm{s}$). This is largely due to the limitations of the technologies used, and most importantly, to the irrational design of circuits. We study the maximum performance parameters of a CBJT OA with one integrating capacitor, which ensures the stability of the $O A$, and a differentiating transient correction circuit, which is implemented by connecting additional small capacitors to the original circuit. In this case, the $S R$ of the $O A$ increases by more than 500 times (up to $4000 \mathrm{~V} / \mu \mathrm{s}$).
