In this paper, we present a program module designed for the spectral analysis of continuous periodic signals with a rectangular shape of the elementary pulse. Spectral analysis is a tool in numerous scientific and engineering fields, enabling the decomposition of signals into their constituent frequencies to facilitate detailed examination and interpretation. This makes training in this field particularly important for electrical and computer engineers who play a crucial role in the development of technology, economies and public welfare in the modern world. The main goal of the developed application is to study the frequency content of unipolar and bipolar pulse train with possibilities to set all their parameters through a visual and interactive approach. It enables a detailed understanding of the spectral characteristics of the investigated signals, which is fundamental to many practical and scientific endeavors. The application is implemented through a simple, convenient and easy graphical user interface, which makes it especially suitable for training students of the new generation. The application is based on the mathematical foundations of the Fourier series for continuous periodic signals and accurately determines the spectral components of the investigated signals. Tests made with different data sets for both types of signals show stable performance in implementing the intended functionalities. © 2024 IEEE.

We derive the likelihood functions and the maximum likelihood (ML) detectors for single-input double-output (SIDO) communication systems. The received signals are contaminated by a Gaussian noise and a non-Gaussian signal induced by the Gaussian transmissions of a proactive continuous single-antenna jammer over an unknown complex 2× 1 Gaussian vector channel. We consider cases in which either full channel distribution information (CDI), or partial CDI about the transmitter channel and the jammer channel is available at the receiver. The vector channels considered herein interweave the components of the received signal vector, rendering the derivation of the likelihood function a daunting task for more than two receive antennas. The interweaving of the received signal components prevents the optimal ML detector for unit-norm constellations from reducing to the corresponding Gaussian approximation based detector. This contrasts with the scalar channel case, wherein the two detectors are equivalent for unit-norm constellations. Simulation results show that the difference between the two detectors can be significant, especially when the transmitter and jammer channels have substantial line-of-sight components. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we propose a novel Conditional Generative Model for generating 3D point clouds using sketches as conditions. The model utilizes a sketch-time embedding extracted from sketch and timestep as conditions, applying a diffusion process to noisy 3D point clouds to produce high-quality 3D models. Based on a point-voxel representation, we voxelize the point clouds and effectively integrate the sketch embedding through an improved Feature Aggregation module. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed model outperforms existing methods in generating more precise 3D point clouds, particularly for objects with complex structures. © 2025 IEEE.

Real-time systems are complex to design and implement. Various modelling and simulation techniques are employed to make this task more structured and efficient. However, there is often a disconnect between modeling for simulation and development for deployment. In this paper we discuss a technique to bridge this gap between simulation and deployment, specifically dealing with a framework to handle asynchronous inputs into a system developed using the Discrete Event System Specification. Further, this paper presents a case study that demonstrates the effectiveness of the framework, and the congruence between simulation and deployment of a real-time system is determined. © 2024 IEEE.

Qualitative approach for automated grading and quality assessment of fruits, machine learning techniques are crucial in agricultural applications. Automation enhances a nation's agricultural quality, production, and economic prosperity. Fruit quality grading, particularly the surface fault identification of a fruit, is a crucial indicator in the export market. This is particularly important for mangoes, which are quite well-liked inBangladesh. On the other hand, the physical grading of mangoes is a procedure that is labor-intensive, prone to error, and very subjective. In this paper, we proposed a YOLOv7 integrated Discrete wave transformation computer vision system. The proposed model includes support vector machine (SVM) and decision tree for the classification of high-quality mangoes. The results of the experiments show that the proposed solution obtained 96.25% accuracy when the system was trained and tested using a publicly accessible mango database. © 2023 IEEE.

The practice of testing in modeling and simulation software development can be a very lengthy and tedious process but is arguably one of the most important phases in the software development lifecycle. As the complexity of a simulation model increases, so does the amount of testing to thoroughly verify and validate and to achieve adequate quality assurance of the software. This paper introduces a testing framework that is used to assist in proving the validity of DEVS atomic models in the open-source simulation tool Cadmium. Furthermore, this framework utilizes the ChatGPT Application Programming Interface (API) to help lighten the workload involved in testing those DEVS atomic models. We show how to use the framework using the Cadmium simulator to show the effectiveness of the framework. © 2024 IEEE.

Twitter is the one of the biggest social media sites, where users may share their thoughts, ideas, and opinions as well as discuss current events and live tweets. In the subject of opinion mining, creating reliable and effective algorithms for sarcasm detection on Twitter is an intriguing task. Sarcasm is the use of positive language to convey depressing emotions while speaking in opposition to one's own intentions. Sarcasm is frequently employed on social networking and micro blogging platforms, where users can offend others and find it difficult to express their true feelings. The deep learning technique utilised in the current algorithms to identify these sarcastic tweets has the limitation of not being able to predict continuous variables. A novel deep learning algorithm is proposed to identify both positive and negative terms as well as sarcasm in comments. Deep neural networks are used to classify the comments into positive and negative word categories. Customers' opinions are mined using sentiment analysis to find and extract information from the text. Sarcastically stated statements from social networking sites can be quickly categorised and recognised by using VADER (Valence Aware Dictionary and Sentiment Reasoner). © 2025 The Authors.

In this paper, we analyze the short-term degradation characteristics of low-temperature polycrystalline silicon (LTPS) thin-film transistor (TFT) to analyze the origin of short-term image sticking (STIS) in the mobile display. The STIS effect is highly relevant to the change in electrical characteristics of driving transistor of the pixel circuit. We mainly focus on the subthreshold swing (SS) variation, as the pixel circuits can internally compensate for the variation in threshold voltage. To examine the short-term degradation, each voltage and temperature stress corresponding to white and black grayscales are applied to the LTPS TFT for 10 minutes. We found that these stress conditions induce SS degradation of the LTPS TFT. This degradation can cause current variation of driving transistor, resulting in non-uniform luminance. Thus, the short-term SS degradation is strongly related to the origin of STIS effect. Copyright © The Korean Institute of Electrical Engineers.

A critical challenge in implementing Zero trust (ZT) in Internet of Things (IoT) environments is ensuring secure authentication and authorization mechanisms. The work in this article delves into the intricate realm of ZT by critically examining the state-of-the-art authentication and authorization processes within the ZT framework for IoT. Despite the wealth of work on ZT and Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA), notable research gaps persist, specifically in identity authentication and fine-grained access control. Given the vast and diverse ecosystem of IoT devices, device identification complexities arise from a lack of unique hardware identifiers, rendering traditional methods susceptible to cyber-attacks, such as, spoofing. For dynamic IoT environments, achieving the optimal implementation in access policies poses a significant challenge. Numerous ZTA methodologies, integrating access controls, blockchain frameworks, and advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML), have been implemented to tackle these challenges. However, research gaps remain, particularly in understanding the behavioral aspects within these frameworks. As a result, this article focuses on identifying how device behavioral aspects can improve authentication and authorization in ZT for IoT. Finally, the article concludes by highlighting how these challenges can serve as future research directions. © 2024 IEEE.

A 4×4 CPW MIMO Antenna array with an artificial magnetic conductor (AMC) reflector is presented for Wi-Fi7 access point on a metal wall application in the study. The 10-dB impedance of the integrated MIMO antenna array covers the Wi-Fi 7 operating bands, and the transmission coefficients are under -15 dB in the whole Wi-Fi7 bands. This proposed integrated MIMO antenna is low profile and has good total radiation efficiency (over 60%). The height of the integrated MIMO antenna array is 6.325 mm. © 2024 IEEE.
