In most outdoor construction fields, the owners hire security guards or install video surveillance systems to prevent unauthorized personnel from entering protected areas. However, these solutions are expensive and may not report instant events. In this work, we propose an intelligent surveillance that forms digital barriers to identify authorized personnel. The system contains a server and many network nodes. Network nodes are equipped with sensors and cameras and are connected through a wireless backbone. When an intruder crosses the barriers, the system can quickly identify the event by cameras. In addition to detecting intruders, the deployed cameras can also detect if workers are wearing uniforms. We implement a prototyping system that contains four modules to accomplish the above features. We install the implemented system in a real field and conduct experiments to evaluate of our designs. The results indicate that the prototyping system can achieve our design goals. © 2023 IEEE.

With open connectivity and emergent computing, the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) combined with cloud computing resources provides significant breakthroughs in the field of industrial automation. These developments lead to the evolution of supplemental services, which improve automation in the production and industrial sectors. This research proposes novel technique in smart manufacturing system based on cloud computing with IIoT in energy efficiency using machine learning. Here the smart manufacturing process has been analysed based on IIoT with cloud computing network, where the energy efficiency is analysed using virtual machine-based reinforcement markov chain based linear regression. Experimental analysis has been carried out in terms of latency, energy efficiency, task response time, accuracy. proposed technique obtained 97% of Latency, 95% of Energy efficiency, 98% of Accuracy, 94% of Task response time. © 2025 IEEE.

Quantum technology offers a transformative approach to solving complex computational challenges in decentralized systems, particularly in blockchain transaction scheduling. Efficient transaction scheduling is critical in distributed ledger systems, which often face challenges like dynamic transaction loads. This work proposes a novel approach namely Hybrid Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (HQAOA) which combines Multi-Agent QAOA (MA-QAOA) and Adaptive Layer QAOA (AL-QAOA) to provide a robust solution to such issues. HQAOA leverages a decentralized optimization framework where multiple agents, each representing a node in the network, optimize local transaction scheduling while considering global constraints. Additionally, HQAOA adapts to varying transaction loads by dynamically adjusting the number of quantum layers for each agent, ensuring computational efficiency under different conditions. Such dynamic layer adjustment mechanisms mitigate the adverse effects of quantum noise and ensures optimal performance in scenarios with fluctuating transaction loads. In contrast to traditional QAOA, which struggles with noise and scaling issues, HQAOA provides improved performance by balancing the complexity of the problem with available quantum resources. Experimental results signify the future potential of HQAOA to outperform QAOA, particularly in noisy environments and irregular transaction conditions. This work demonstrates the potential of HQAOA to optimize blockchain transaction scheduling in decentralized systems. © 2025 IEEE.

High throughput -omics technologies facilitate the investigation of regulatory mechanisms of complex diseases. Along this line, scientists develop promising tools and methods to extend our understanding at the molecular and functional levels. To this end, miRcorrNet tool performs integrative analysis of microRNA (miRNA) and gene expression profiles via machine learning (ML) approach to identify significant miRNA groups and their associated target genes. In this study, we propose miRcorrNetPro tool, which extends miRcorrNet by tracking group scoring, ranking and other information through the cross-validation iterations. Heatmap visualizations enable deep novel insights into the collective behavior of clusters of groups in cellular signaling and hence facilitate detection of potential biomarkers for the disease under investigation. Although miRcorrNetPro is designed as a generic tool, here we present our findings and potential miRNA biomarkers for Breast Cancer (BRCA). In recent times, digital assets have been on the rise. Crypto-enthusiasts have been investing in this market segment for quite some time. The returns from these investments for the investors cannot be fathomed. Blockchain Technology is one of the main pillars of the Industry 4.0 revolution. As of now, the entities can buy or sell digital assets but the ability to lend/rent a digital asset is still a question that needs to be addressed. With this motivation, we have proposed a framework as a solution that will allow owners to lend their digital assets to buyers by determining the ownership rights of the asset dynamically. This research work presents the comprehensible approach to the buyer-seller protocol using NFT smart contracts and blockchain technology, to provide proof of ownership and secure transferability in the marketplace. © 2023 IEEE.

This report presents an analysis of the feasibility of using a method to recognize bird vocalizations. The automated extraction of information from sound recordings collected over extended periods of time is reviewed and a method proposed to improve the scope of biodiversity monitoring. For this purpose, birdsong is automatically segmented into acoustic events and subsequently, for each segment, the areas of increased energy density are determined. After framing the resulting areas, the coordinates and values of the local energy density maxima are determined. Different acoustic events of the same bird song species have varying contour lengths referring to the same syllable type. Therefore, the most compressed information representation of the cycle through a given parametric model is sought. An interpolation model based on GMM with M components is chose. The model parameters are then fed to a classifier to recognize the syllable type of the bird vocalization. The 78 syllables obtained during signal segmentation are classified with ninety-eight percent accuracy, the recognition method and the type of acoustic event are the determining factor. © 2024 IEEE.

Several efforts have been approached to minimize the limitations and risks associated with current methods of locating underground pipelines in construction projects, especially during excavation operations. Traditional methods rely on flags to mark the general location of pipelines, which can be imprecise and lead to accidents. Excavation damage is a significant cause of pipeline failures, resulting in injuries, fatalities, and financial losses. To address these issues, we have been studied to accurately locate the underground ferromagnetic pipeline using magnetic anomaly detection approach using multi-dimensional magnetic sensor array using a smart external magnetic interference cancellation algorithm under the lab-based setting. To expand the successful approach in the actual construction setting, we proposed the development of a smart, real-time, wireless multi-node sensor system that uses magnetic anomaly detection algorithm on a custom smartphone app. This system aims to improve the accuracy of pipeline location detection during excavation, thereby reducing the potential for accidents and enhancing safety on construction sites. We have successfully designed and assembled the multi-node metal pipeline localization system via BLE. By attaching three modules on the excavator bucket, we were able to collect the sensor data using a custom-designed app and estimate the distance from the pipe. © 2024 IEEE.

In new computing architectures, data is outsourced and sensitive data becomes vulnerable in various areas. Owners must guarantee that their data are secure from breaches and unauthorized users and available anytime. Various techniques have been proposed to maintain a certain degree of privacy in the database and to allow efficient execution of queries on cloud computing. These methods cannot securely support queries over encrypted data without leaking private data. Therefore, in this paper, a secure technique was proposed for executing queries over encrypted data, and the proposed technique was based on the design of CryptDB. This technique eliminates the limitations of CryptDB to perform server-side computations on cryptographic data of different principles. The proposed technique attempts to overcome CryptDB's limitations by encrypting with different keys in multidimensional mode and running each query on the corresponding data encrypted by the same key. © 2023 IEEE.
