Blockchain is a developing and promising field in transaction and identity management. Recent efforts have been underway to address issues of data insecurity and inefficiency presented by centralized systems. Philippine government agencies, like the Land Transportation Office (LTO), traditionally store information in centralized databases, which can be susceptible to unauthorized access. This study makes the case of decentralizing certain LTO online procedures, starting with driver’s license application, as well as identity management using blockchain technology. With an immutable, distributed ledger system, it aims to introduce security, transparency, and efficiency into the system through a proof-of-concept web application. It demonstrates that not only certain LTO procedures can be decentralized, but also the management of license ID, more specifically the selective disclosure of information to requesting parties. The design presented here lays the groundwork for developing a decentralized application through Hyperledger Fabric and Indy, leveraging features like consensus mechanisms, verifiable credentials (VCs), and self-sovereign identity (SSI). The initial evaluation of the design using Hyperledger Caliper sets the stage for further research on decentralization, scalability, and efficiency. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

Currently, the basis for critical nodes definition and identification lies in the representation learning of the network and the extraction of local and global features of the nodes. The effectiveness of the algorithm is closely related to network modeling and network structural characteristics. However, with the increasing complexity of real-world systems, utilizing the continuity and integrity of traditional bipartite graph representation faces significant challenges. Different from traditional graph modeling, the hyperedges of a hypergraph can connect multiple nodes simultaneously, thus forming richer structural features and interaction information between nodes for the analysis and judgment of critical nodes. To more accurately identify critical nodes in complex networks, we propose an algorithm that establishes a hypergraph representation for traditional graph data to extract higher-order features of nodes for neural network training, in order to identify critical nodes in complex networks. The effectiveness of this method is proven by comparing it with various critical node identification algorithms under different infection rates. © 2024 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) is an evolving paradigm for building smart cross-industry. The data gathered from IoT devices may have anomalies or other errors for various reasons, such as malicious activities or sensor failures. Anomaly detection is thus in high need for guaranteeing trustworthy execution of IoT applications. Existing IoT anomaly detection methods are usually built upon unsupervised methods and thus can be inadequate when facing complex IoT data regularity. In this article, we propose a semi-supervised approach for detecting IoT time series anomalies based on Graph Structure Learning (GSL) using multi-layer perceptron Graph Convolutional Networks (GCN) and the Mean Teachers (MT) mechanism. The proposed model is capable of leveraging a small amount of labeled data (1% to 10%) to achieve high detection accuracy. We adopt Mean Teachers to utilize unlabeled data for enhancing the model’s detection performance. Moreover, we design a novel graph structure learning layer to adaptively capture the IoT data features among different nodes. Experimental results clearly suggest that the proposed model outperforms its competitors on two public IoT datasets, achieving 82.85% in terms of F1 score and 22.8% increase. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.

The influence maximization (IM) problem aims to identify a budgeted set of nodes with the highest potential to influence the largest number of users in a cascade model, a key challenge in viral marketing. Traditional IM approaches consider each user/node independently as a potential target customer. However, in many scenarios, the target customers comprise motifs, where activating only one or a few users within a motif is insufficient for effective viral marketing, which, nevertheless, receives little attention. For instance, if a motif of three friends planning to dine together, targeting all three simultaneously is crucial for a restaurant advertisement to succeed. In this paper, we address the motif-oriented influence maximization problem under the linear threshold model. We prove that the motif-oriented IM problem is NP-hard and that the influence function is neither supermodular nor submodular, in contrast to the classical IM setting. To simplify the problem, we establish the submodular upper and lower bounds for the influence function. By leveraging the submodular property, we propose a natural greedy strategy that simultaneously maximizes both bounds. Our algorithm has an approximation ratio of τ·(1−1/e−Ε) and a near-linear time complexity of O((k+l)(m+η) log η/Ε2). Experimental results on diverse datasets confirm the effectiveness of our approach in motif maximization. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

In the field of robotic grasping, grasping tightly stacked objects is a formidable challenge. The presence of non-target objects significantly increases the risk of grasping failure. To solve this problem, the aim is to take action while grasping, reduce clutter, and effectively complete grasping tasks. Based on deep reinforcement learning, the Efficient Learning Grasping(ELG) framework is proposed that integrates pushing actions alongside grasping to efficiently pick up objects from cluttered environments with reduced training time. However, in the process of grasping, the agent is rewarded only when the grasp is successful, so the data collection is extremely inefficient and spends a lot of time on the training of grasping strategy. In our work, two strategies are proposed to improve the training efficiency. First, two mask functions are introduced as prior knowledge to enable the agent to focus on more meaningful regions while ignoring some unnecessary regions, aiming at effective learning. Second, The Pixel Overlap Rate (POR) is introduced to quantify the environment clutter level, and set a new push action reward function based on the POR. The implementation of the above ideas in a simulation environment and transferred the learned models to the real world and verified them in practice. Compared with existing method, our method improves the training efficiency of the initial algorithm while having a higher success rate of grasping. Existing lip synchronization(lip-sync)methods generate accurately synchronized mouths and faces in a generated ***,they still confront the problem of artifacts in regions of non-interest(RONI),e.g.,background and other parts of a face,which decreases the overall visual *** solve these problems,we innovatively introduce diverse image inpainting to lip-sync *** propose Modulated Inpainting Lip-sync GAN(MILG),an audio-constraint inpainting network to predict synchronous *** utilizes prior knowledge of RONI and audio sequences to predict lip shape instead of image generation,which can keep the RONI ***,we integrate modulated spatially probabilistic diversity normalization(MSPD Norm)in our inpainting network,which helps the network generate fine-grained diverse mouth movements guided by the continuous audio ***,to lower the training overhead,we modify the contrastive loss in lipsync to support small-batch-size and few-sample *** experiments demonstrate that our approach outperforms the existing state-of-the-art of image quality and authenticity while keeping lip-sync.
