Brain stroke is the world's leading cause of death, impacting numerous lives annually. The chances of having a stroke have increased by 50% over one's lifetime, impacting one in four people worldwide. Machine learning may assist in the prior detection of strokes, allowing for more timely diagnosis which can save a person's life and disability. However, existing methods face challenges in integrating ML models with clinical applications to predict patient stroke status with optimal accuracy. This study conducts a comprehensive investigation into brain stroke risk prediction using numerous ML algorithms, including Random Forest, Logistic Regression, KNN, Naive Bayes, XGBoost, and LightGBM. Our main contribution is the development of a web app that predicts stroke based on user inputs with optimal accuracy. The selected dataset contains 5110 records of normal people and 249 records of people having strokes which is highly imbalanced. To ensure model robustness, the dataset undergoes balancing through SMOTE oversampling and KNN Imputation for handling missing values. Custom thresholds for classifiers optimize training, with comprehensive evaluations utilizing key statistics such as confusion matrices, F1-Score, recall, accuracy, and precision. Cross-validation is employed to assess potential overfitting and underfitting risks in machine learning models. Random Forest ranked as the most imposing, reaching a remarkable 99.85% accuracy on the test set with a custom threshold of 0.6 and a random state at 42. Additionally, a user-friendly Web App has been developed to predict stroke status based on user input, enhancing practical usability and accessibility for individuals seeking risk assessments. © 2024 IEEE.

Restoring the patient's occlusal function of broken teeth is a challenging task since tooth texture is very complex, a slight deviation may affect the patient's chewing function and temporomandibular joint function. Therefore, how to efficiently repair the complete shape and real surface of the crown is a critical problem. Traditional technologies are hard to restore complete shape of the dental crown or lack inlay surface details, due to dataset limitations and complexity of missing parts. In this paper, we propose a multi-view crown restoration framework MVDC based on contrastive learning. Specifically, MVDC contains: 1) a multi-view generator with a specially designed loss measurement by using contrastive learning;2) a multi-scale discriminator mechanism able to consider relation and consistency between teeth from different scales;3) an occlusal groove extraction network to extract the occlusal details. We conducted extensive experiments on existing public datasets. The results showcase the superior performance of MVDC. © 2025 IEEE.

A new era of data access and management has begun with the use of cloud computing in the healthcare *** the efficiency and scalability that the cloud provides, the security of private patient data is still a majorconcern. Encryption, network security, and adherence to data protection laws are key to ensuring the confidentialityand integrity of healthcare data in the cloud. The computational overhead of encryption technologies could leadto delays in data access and processing rates. To address these challenges, we introduced the Enhanced ParallelMulti-Key Encryption Algorithm (EPM-KEA), aiming to bolster healthcare data security and facilitate the securestorage of critical patient records in the cloud. The data was gathered from two categories Authorization forHospital Admission (AIH) and Authorization for High Complexity *** use Z-score normalization forpreprocessing. The primary goal of implementing encryption techniques is to secure and store massive amountsof data on the cloud. It is feasible that cloud storage alternatives for protecting healthcare data will become morewidely available if security issues can be successfully fixed. As a result of our analysis using specific parametersincluding Execution time (42%), Encryption time (45%), Decryption time (40%), Security level (97%), and Energyconsumption (53%), the system demonstrated favorable performance when compared to the traditional *** suggests that by addressing these security concerns, there is the potential for broader accessibility to cloudstorage solutions for safeguarding healthcare data.

Adversarial Training for Supervised Relation Extraction

Most supervised methods for relation extraction(RE) involve time-consuming human annotation. Distant supervision for RE is an efficient method to obtain large corpora that contains thousands of instances and various relations. However, the existing approaches rely heavily on knowledge bases(e.g., Freebase), thereby introducing data noise. Various relations and noisy labeling instances make the issue difficult to solve. In this study, we propose a model based on a piecewise convolution neural network with adversarial training. Inspired by generative adversarial networks, we adopt a heuristic algorithm to identify noisy datasets and apply adversarial training to RE. Experiments on the extended dataset of SemEval-2010 Task 8 show that our model can obtain more accurate training data for RE and significantly outperforms several competitive baseline models. Our model has an F1 score of 89.61%.

Tomato leaf diseases significantly impact crop production,necessitating early detection for sustainable *** Learning(DL)has recently shown excellent results in identifying and classifying tomato leaf ***,current DL methods often require substantial computational resources,hindering their application on resource-constrained *** propose the Deep Tomato Detection Network(DTomatoDNet),a lightweight DL-based framework comprising 19 learnable layers for efficient tomato leaf disease classification to overcome *** Convn kernels used in the proposed(DTomatoDNet)framework is 1×1,which reduces the number of parameters and helps in more detailed and descriptive feature extraction for *** proposed DTomatoDNet model is trained from scratch to determine the classification success rate.10,000 tomato leaf images(1000 images per class)from the publicly accessible dataset,covering one healthy category and nine disease categories,are utilized in training the proposed DTomatoDNet *** specifically,we classified tomato leaf images into Target Spot(TS),Early Blight(EB),Late Blight(LB),Bacterial Spot(BS),Leaf Mold(LM),Tomato Yellow Leaf Curl Virus(YLCV),Septoria Leaf Spot(SLS),Spider Mites(SM),Tomato Mosaic Virus(MV),and Tomato Healthy(H).The proposed DTomatoDNet approach obtains a classification accuracy of 99.34%,demonstrating excellent accuracy in differentiating between tomato *** model could be used on mobile platforms because it is lightweight and designed with fewer *** farmers can utilize the proposed DTomatoDNet methodology to detect disease more quickly and easily once it has been integrated into mobile platforms by developing a mobile application.

Data-free Class-incremental Learning (CIL) is a challenging problem because rehearsing data from previous phases is strictly prohibited, causing catastrophic forgetting of Deep Neural Networks (DNNs). In this paper, we present iVoro, a novel framework derived from computational geometry. We found Voronoi Diagram (VD), a classical model for space subdivision, is especially powerful for solving the CIL problem, because VD itself can be constructed favorably in an incremental manner - the newly added sites (classes) will only affect the proximate classes, making the non-contiguous classes hardly forgettable. Furthermore, we bridge DNN and VD using Power Diagram Reduction, and show that the VD structure can be progressively refined along the phases using a divide-and-conquer algorithm. Moreover, our VD construction is not restricted to the deep feature space, but is also applicable to multiple intermediate feature spaces, promoting VD to be multilayer VD that efficiently captures multi-grained features from DNN. Importantly, iVoro is also capable of handling uncertainty-aware test-time Voronoi cell assignment and has exhibited high correlations between geometric uncertainty and predictive accuracy (up to ∼0.9). Putting everything together, iVoro achieves up to 25.26%, 37.09%, and 33.21% improvements on CIFAR-100, TinyImageNet, and ImageNet-Subset, respectively, compared to the state-of-the-art non-exemplar CIL approaches. In conclusion, iVoro enables highly accurate, privacy-preserving, and geometrically interpretable CIL that is particularly useful when cross-phase data sharing is forbidden, e.g. in medical applications. © 2023 11th International Conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2023. Automatic Positioning of Intelligent Mobile Robot Based on Improved Front-End Scanning Matching

Traditional autonomous navigation methods for mobile robots mainly rely on geometric feature-based LiDAR scan-matching algorithms, but in complex environments, this method is often affected due to the presence of moving objects, occlusions, and other interfering factors, resulting in a decrease in positioning accuracy. With the growing demand for robotics applications in logistics, security, exploration and other fields, the need for robust autonomous navigation and high-precision mapping in highly dynamic and complex environments is becoming more and more urgent. To solve this problem, an improved front-end scan matching algorithm based on Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) LiDAR is proposed in this paper. Firstly, by using the target Doppler velocity information provided by the FMCW LiDAR, we design a novel point cloud segmentation algorithm based on velocity clustering, which is able to effectively distinguish between stationary and moving objects, and avoid the dynamic interference affecting the position estimation. Secondly, we introduce the Gaussian Mixture Model Sampling Consistency (GMMSC) algorithm, which is more robust to reject the mis-matched pairs in the scanning matching process and improve the alignment accuracy. Finally, based on the residual high-quality matched pairs, we combine the classical ICP algorithm with the robust kernel function to further enhance the stability of the position estimation in the case of occlusion and local mismatch. The experimental results show that the proposed improved algorithm significantly improves the mapping capability of mobile robots in complex environments compared with the existing techniques. The average relative error of the improved front-end scanning matching algorithm is reduced by 40.6 % compared with the pre-improved one. © 2025, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. Today, image processing plays a significant role in early disease detection, allowing doctors to treat conditions like breast, lung, and brain malignancies. A brain tumor is a serious condition that can be fatal. Brain tumor diagnosis is the most important task for early therapy, and automatic visual classification might be extremely important. It is essential to classify brain cancers in order to assess the tumor's and determine the best course of treatment for each class. To find brain tumors, numerous imaging modalities are used. However, MRI is frequently utilized since it produces superior images and uses no ionizing radiation. This research aims to provide a review of different Machine Learning (ML) techniques for detection and classification of brain tumor. Also, different feature extraction techniques are analyzed and their benefits are discussed. This review is conducted by different research papers which helps new researchers to start immediately a literature review and knowing different machine learning techniques their advantages and disadvantages to classify brain tumor through MRI. Also, they know the accuracy of each algorithm which leads them to directly target the problem not implementing the existing techniques. © 2024 IEEE.
