With the acceleration of urbanization and living standards, microorganisms play an increasingly important role in industrial production, bio-technique, and food safety testing. Microorganism biovolume measurements are one of the essential parts of microbial analysis. However, traditional manual measurement methods are time-consuming and challenging to measure the characteristics precisely. With the development of digital image processing techniques, the characteristics of the microbial population can be detected and quantified. The applications of the microorganism biovolume measurement method have developed since the 1980s. More than 62 articles are reviewed in this study, and the articles are grouped by digital image analysis methods with time. This study has high research significance and application value, which can be referred to as microbial researchers to comprehensively understand microorganism biovolume measurements using digital image analysis methods and potential applications. © 2022, CC0.

This paper introduces a systematic approach to synthesize linear parameter-varying (LPV) representations of nonlinear (NL) systems which are described by input affine state-space (SS) representations. The conversion approach results in LPV-SS representations in the observable canonical form. Based on the relative degree concept, first the SS description of a given NL representation is transformed to a normal form. In the SISO case, all nonlinearities of the original system are embedded into one NL function, which is factorized, based on a proposed algorithm, to construct an LPV representation of the original NL system. The overall procedure yields an LPV model in which the scheduling variable depends on the inputs and outputs of the system and their derivatives, achieving a practically applicable transformation of the model in case of low order derivatives. In addition, if the states of the NL model can be measured or estimated, then a modified procedure is proposed to provide LPV models scheduled by these states. Breast cancer is one of the most common causes of death among women worldwide. Early detection helps in reducing the number of deaths. Automated 3D Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) is a newer approach for breast screening, which has many advantages over handheld mammography such as safety, speed, and higher detection rate of breast cancer. Tumor detection, segmentation, and classification are key components in the analysis of medical images, especially challenging in the context of 3D ABUS due to the significant variability in tumor size and shape, unclear tumor boundaries, and a low signal-to-noise ratio. The lack of publicly accessible, well-labeled ABUS datasets further hinders the advancement of systems for breast tumor analysis. Addressing this gap, we have organized the inaugural Tumor Detection, Segmentation, and Classification Challenge on Automated 3D Breast Ultrasound 2023 (TDSC-ABUS2023). This initiative aims to spearhead research in this field and create a definitive benchmark for tasks associated with 3D ABUS image analysis. In this paper, we summarize the top-performing algorithms from the challenge and provide critical analysis for ABUS image examination. This paper investigates the problem of localizing a team of robots in an indoor environment while simultaneously keeping a robust formation and performing group motion. A distributed observer is proposed to estimate the positions of mobile robots as well as the landmarks under a common global frame. Every robot uses its available local relative measurements, as well as the estimated relative measurements to its neighbors in order to keep a robust formation. Simultaneously, each robot estimates the positions of all the landmarks based on the available on-board relative measurements but also based on the estimated positions from its neighbors. We provide the L 2 -stability analysis of the closed-loop system where the group is also allowed to maneuver in the unknown environment. Simulation results are also given to show the efficacy of the method.

In this paper, we present a scheme of fully distributed resilient state estimation for linear dynamical systems under sensor attacks. The proposed state observer consists of a network of local observers, where each of them utilizes local measurements and information transmitted from the neighbors. As a fully distributed scheme, it does not necessarily collect a majority of sensing data for the sake of attack identification, while the compromised sensors are eventually identified by the distributed network and excluded from the observers. For this, the overall network (not the individual local observer) is assumed to have redundant sensors and assumed to be connected. The proposed scheme is based on a novel design of a distributed median solver, which approximately recovers the median value of local estimates. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Millimeter wave (mmWave) technology can achieve high-speed communication due to the large available spectrum. Furthermore, the use of directional beams in mmWave system provides a natural defense against physical layer security attacks. In practice, however, the beams are imperfect due to mmWave hardware limitations such as the low-resolution of the phase shifters. These imperfections in the beam pattern introduce an energy leakage that can be exploited by an eavesdropper. To defend against such eavesdropping attacks, we propose a directional modulation-based defense technique where the transmitter applies random circulant shifts of a beamformer. We show that the use of random circulant shifts together with appropriate phase adjustment induces artificial phase noise (APN) in the directions different from that of the target receiver. Our method corrupts the phase at the eavesdropper without affecting the communication link of the target receiver. We also experimentally verify the APN induced due to circulant shifts, using channel measurements from a 2-bit mmWave phased array testbed. Using simulations, we study the performance of the proposed defense technique against a greedy eavesdropping strategy in a vehicle-to-infrastructure scenario. The proposed technique achieves better defense than the antenna subset modulation, without compromising on the communication link with the target receiver. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. In this paper, the optimal cyber-attack on remote estimation center in multi nonlinear systems is obtained to study defense strategies in future better. It is assumed that there are independent nonlinear systems, and each of them has a remote sensor for monitoring. An attacker in the network is considered to exacerbate the specific number of communication channels by generating noise. Because of the capacity limitations in real-world systems, a considered attacker can aggravate at most of the communication channels based on its responsibility. The problem is derived as a Markov decision process (MDP) one. Besides, the proof of the existence of an optimal cyber-attack, it is shown that based on the obtained threshold structure of the optimal policy, this problem can be solved for homogeneous models asymptotically, which eases the complexity of computations in real-world applications. In the process of urban logistics distribution, how to achieve efficiently and timely logistics distribution within the distribution time limit has become an urgent problem to be solved in logistics management. Three-echelon logistics distribution is considered to be an effective strategy to alleviate urban congestion, improve liquidity and reduce pollution. In this paper, a mathematical model of three-echelon logistics distribution problem considering time window constraint is established based on directed graph, and a double-tier intelligent algorithm coordinated by Distance Entropy-based Attractor Propagation (DEBAP) clustering algorithm - Crossover-and-Selection based Differential Evolution (CSBDE) is proposed. DEBAP is responsible for the optimization of region partitioning and facility allocation. The obtained region partitioning and facility allocation scheme are transmitted to CSBDE for path planning. CSBDE feeds back the optimized path planning scheme to DEBAP, and the two-tier intelligent algorithm cooperates to complete the optimization of three-echelon logistics distribution system. In addition, this paper proposes a search strategy based on reachable distribution region and a facility allocation optimization strategy based on path length as weight to improve the efficiency of the algorithm. The example calculation shows that the mathematical model and combined intelligent algorithm proposed in this paper can effectively solve 3-echelon logistics distribution problem(3E-LDP), provide theoretical and methodological guidance for multi-echelon logistics distribution, and can be well implemented in practice to help logistics operators reduce operation costs and improve customer service. © 2022, The Authors. In a recent single cell transcriptomic investigation of the peripheral immune responses of the patients with severe COVID-19[1],no substantial expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines has been identified in the peripheral monocytes and lymphocytes,while these peripheral immune cells exhibit phenotypes of heterogeneously expressed interferon-stimulated genes in certain COVID-19 *** genes may contribute to the inhibitory response to the viral entry,translation,replication and *** remain regarding why the peripheral cytokine production is constrained,what additional roles these peripheral immune cells may play in COVID-19 pathophysiology,and which potential targets can be explored for facilitating COVID-19 therapeutics.
