Over-sampling algorithm for imbalanced data classification

For imbalanced datasets, the focus of classification is to identify samples of the minority class. The performance of current data mining algorithms is not good enough for processing imbalanced datasets. The synthetic minority over-sampling technique(SMOTE) is specifically designed for learning from imbalanced datasets, generating synthetic minority class examples by interpolating between minority class examples nearby. However, the SMOTE encounters the overgeneralization problem. The densitybased spatial clustering of applications with noise(DBSCAN) is not rigorous when dealing with the samples near the *** optimize the DBSCAN algorithm for this problem to make clustering more reasonable. This paper integrates the optimized DBSCAN and SMOTE, and proposes a density-based synthetic minority over-sampling technique(DSMOTE). First, the optimized DBSCAN is used to divide the samples of the minority class into three groups, including core samples, borderline samples and noise samples, and then the noise samples of minority class is removed to synthesize more effective samples. In order to make full use of the information of core samples and borderline samples,different strategies are used to over-sample core samples and borderline samples. Experiments show that DSMOTE can achieve better results compared with SMOTE and Borderline-SMOTE in terms of precision, recall and F-value.

Community Question Answering (CQA) provides a platform to share knowledge for users. With the increasing number of users and questions, askers have to wait a long time for an answer with high quality while responders may not be interested in assigned questions. Current methods usually try to address this issue based on text or link analysis. However, most of them suffer from delayed answers or low coverage of best answer. In this paper, we design a novel expert recommendation mechanism by incorporating the deep structured semantic model (DSSM) [20] with our proposed graph-based algorithm, a topic sensitive answerer rank algorithm (TSAR). In the process of constructing transition probability matrix, we not only take into account both the number of questions answered by the user and question difficulty, but also consider the user's average response time for providing the answer. The experiments carried out on Yahoo! Answers and Stack Overflow datasets demonstrate that the proposed mechanism outperforms the current typical algorithms [9] on multiple metrics and achieves the best answer coverages, which are 61.5% and 53.8%, respectively.

Noise-Tolerant Learning for Audio-Visual Action Recognition

Recently, video recognition is emerging with the help of multi-modal learning, which focuses on integrating distinct modalities to improve the performance or robustness of the model. Although various multi-modal learning methods have been proposed and offer remarkable recognition results, almost all of these methods rely on high-quality manual annotations and assume that modalities among multi-modal data provide semantically relevant information. Unfortunately, the widely used video datasets are usually coarse-annotated or collected from the Internet. Thus, it inevitably contains a portion of noisy labels and noisy correspondence. To address this challenge, we use the audio-visual action recognition task as a proxy and propose a noise-tolerant learning framework to find anti-interference model parameters against both noisy labels and noisy correspondence. Specifically, our method consists of two phases that aim to rectify noise by the inherent correlation between modalities. First, a noise-tolerant contrastive training phase is performed to make the model immune to the possible noisy-labeled data. Despite the benefits brought by contrastive training, it would overfit the noisy correspondence and thus provide false supervision. To alleviate the influence of noisy correspondence, we propose a cross-modal noise estimation component to adjust the consistency between different modalities. As the noisy correspondence existed at the instance level, we further propose a category-level contrastive loss to reduce its interference. Second, in the hybrid-supervised training phase, we calculate the distance metric among features to obtain corrected labels, which are used as complementary supervision to guide the training. Furthermore, due to the lack of suitable datasets, we establish a benchmark of real-world noisy correspondence in audio-visual data by relabeling the Kinetics dataset. Due to its open-source nature, Android operating system has been the main target of attackers to exploit. Malware creators always perform different code obfuscations on their apps to hide malicious activities. Features extracted from these obfuscated samples through program analysis contain many useless and disguised features, which leads to many false negatives. To address the issue, in this paper, we demonstrate that obfuscation-resilient malware family analysis can be achieved through contrastive learning. The key insight behind our analysis is that contrastive learning can be used to reduce the difference introduced by obfuscation while amplifying the difference between malware and other types of malware. Based on the proposed analysis, we design a system that can achieve robust and interpretable classification of Android malware. To achieve robust classification, we perform contrastive learning on malware samples to learn an encoder that can automatically extract robust features from malware samples. To achieve interpretable classification, we transform the function call graph of a sample into an image by centrality analysis. Then the corresponding heatmaps can be obtained by visualization techniques. These heatmaps can help users understand why the malware is classified as this family. We implement IFDroid and perform extensive evaluations on two datasets. Experimental results show that IFDroid is superior to state-of-the-art Android malware familial classification systems. Moreover, IFDroid is capable of maintaining a 98.4% F1 on classifying 69,421 obfuscated malware samples. © 2021, CC0.

The convolutional neural network (CNN) is vulnerable to degraded images with even very small variations (e.g. corrupted and adversarial samples). One of the possible reasons is that CNN pays more attention to the most discriminative regions, but ignores the auxiliary features when learning, leading to the lack of feature diversity for final judgment. In our method, we propose to dynamically suppress significant activation values of CNN by group-wise inhibition, but not fixedly or randomly handle them when training. The feature maps with different activation distribution are then processed separately to take the feature independence into account. CNN is finally guided to learn richer discriminative features hierarchically for robust classification according to the proposed regularization. Our method is comprehensively evaluated under multiple settings, including classification against corruptions, adversarial attacks and low data regime. Extensive experimental results show that the proposed method can achieve significant improvements in terms of both robustness and generalization performances, when compared with the state-of-the-art methods. All-optical analog-to-digital conversion is a paramount issue in modern science. How to implement real-time and ultrafast quantization to optical pulses with different intensities in an all-optical domain is a central problem. Here, we report a realtime demonstration of an all-optical quantization scheme based on slicing the supercontinuum in a nonlinear fiber. In comparison with previous schemes through off-line analysis of the power of different optical spectral components in the supercontinuum, this, to the best of our knowledge, is the first demonstration of such functionality online in the time ***, the extinction ratio among the quantized outputs can exceed 10 d B, which further confirms the feasibility of the proposed quantization scheme. The current 3 bit resolution in the proof-of-principle experiment is limited by the current experimental condition, but it can be expected to be greatly enhanced through improving both the spectral width of the generated supercontinuum and the number of filtering channels used.

FortisAVQA and MAVEN: a Benchmark dataset and Debiasing Framework for Robust Multimodal Reasoning

Audio-Visual Question Answering (AVQA) is a challenging multimodal reasoning task requiring intelligent systems to answer natural language queries based on paired audio-video inputs accurately. However, existing AVQA approaches often suffer from overfitting to dataset biases, leading to poor robustness. Moreover, current datasets may not effectively diagnose these methods. To address these challenges, we first introduce a novel dataset, FortisAVQA, constructed in two stages: (1) rephrasing questions in the test split of the public MUSIC-AVQA dataset and (2) introducing distribution shifts across questions. The first stage expands the test space with greater diversity, while the second enables a refined robustness evaluation across rare, frequent, and overall question distributions. Second, we introduce a robust Multimodal Audio-Visual Epistemic Network (MAVEN) that leverages a multifaceted cycle collaborative debiasing strategy to mitigate bias learning. Experimental results demonstrate that our architecture achieves state-of-the-art performance on FortisAVQA, with a notable improvement of 7.81%. Extensive ablation studies on both datasets validate the effectiveness of our debiasing components. Additionally, our evaluation reveals the limited robustness of existing multimodal QA methods. We also verify the plug-and-play capability of our strategy by integrating it with various baseline models across both datasets. To improve the interactivity of 3D virtual sand table displays, an industrial park 3D virtual sand table display system based on augmented reality is designed. The system consists of multiple modules. The design of the animation browsing module is based on the roaming walking model environment. The walking and roaming module can enable participants to experience the real visual and tactile virtual space in the process of input browsing. In the surrounding environment and traffic condition module, the surrounding environment and traffic condition display are created by means of static pictures and picture buttons. The VRML scene space module is responsible for creating objects such as VRML viewpoints. Scenario module transformation completes event transmission through routing. The virtual sand table VRML optimization modeling module is responsible for constructing the virtual sand table VRML model. The function of the multiperson collaboration module is to provide collaboration capability for plotting and discussion functions. In the multiuser detection module, yolov2 is used for multiuser detection. The augmented reality hardware module is mainly composed of computers and hololens. Through the combination of hardware and software, a three-dimensional virtual sand table display of an industrial park is realized. The test results show that the performance of the designed system is good and can meet the design requirements.

The increased throughput brought by MIMO technology relies on the knowledge of channel state information (CSI) acquired in the base station (BS). To make the CSI feedback overhead affordable for the evolution of MIMO technology (e.g., massive MIMO and ultra-massive MIMO), deep learning (DL) is introduced to deal with the CSI compression task. Based on the separation principle in existing communication systems, DL based CSI compression is used as source coding. However, this separate source-channel coding (SSCC) scheme is inferior to the joint source-channel coding (JSCC) scheme in the finite blocklength regime. In this paper, we propose a deep joint source-channel coding (DJSCC) based framework for the CSI feedback task. In particular, the proposed method can simultaneously learn from the CSI source and the wireless channel. Instead of truncating CSI via Fourier transform in the delay domain in existing methods, we apply non-linear transform networks to compress the CSI. Furthermore, we adopt an SNR adaption mechanism to deal with the wireless channel variations.
