Movable antenna (MA) has been recognized as a promising technology to enhance the performance of wireless communication and sensing by enabling antenna movement. Such a significant paradigm shift from conventional fixed antennas (FAs) to MAs offers tremendous new opportunities towards realizing more versatile, adaptive and efficient next-generation wireless networks such as 6G. In this paper, we provide a comprehensive tutorial on the fundamentals and advancements in the area of MA-empowered wireless networks. First, we overview the historical development and contemporary applications of MA technologies. Next, to characterize the continuous variation in wireless channels with respect to antenna position and/or orientation, we present new field-response channel models tailored for MAs, which are applicable to narrowband and wideband systems as well as far-field and near-field propagation conditions. Subsequently, we review the state-of-the-art architectures for implementing MAs and discuss their practical constraints. A general optimization framework is then formulated to fully exploit the spatial degrees of freedom (DoFs) in antenna movement for performance enhancement in wireless systems. In particular, we delve into two major design issues for MA systems. First, we address the intricate antenna movement optimization problem for various communication and/or sensing systems to maximize the performance gains achievable by MAs. Second, we deal with the challenging channel acquisition issue in MA systems for reconstructing the channel mapping between arbitrary antenna positions inside the transmitter and receiver regions. Moreover, we show existing prototypes developed for MA-aided communication/sensing and the experimental results based on them. Finally, the extension of MA design to other wireless systems and its synergy with other emerging wireless technologies are discussed. We developed and validated a deep learning system (termed DeepDR Plus) in a diverse, multiethnic, multi-country dataset to predict personalized risk and time to progression of diabetic retinopathy. We show that DeepDR Plus can be integrated into the clinical workflow to promote individualized intervention strategies for the management of diabetic retinopathy.

In recent years, attribute-based access control (ABAC) models have been widely used in big data and cloud computing. However, with the growing importance of data content, using data content to assist authorization for access controls has become more common. In this paper, we propose a dynamic content-driven attribute-based access control model (CABAC) for large-scale unstructured data. CABAC is a fine-grained access control model that use two-layer authorization to balance efficiency and accuracy. The first-layer authorization uses attributes to grant users basic authority and the second-layer authorization uses data content to grant broader authority over "related" data. Experimental results show that CABAC has acceptable efficiency and it can expand the authority of users without reducing security. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.

When EEG signals are used to assess the level of student engagement in online teaching tasks, they are often interfered by noise. It is a challenge to effectively remove these noises. Currently, deep learning methods have been applied to the field of EEG denoising. However, existing methods still have some problems. The denoised signals still have obvious noise residue, or the original EEG signals are damaged, and the model fitting speed is too slow. Image dehazing, as a typical denoising task in the field of image enhancement, has achieved great success in recent years. Therefore, inspired by advanced models in this field, we introduce CNN into EEG denoising tasks. In this paper, we take GCANet, an excellent image enhancement model, as an example. The dilated convolutions and gate fusion subnetworks included in GCANet enable more efficient EEG signal denoising. The results demonstrate that the proposed model effectively reduces noise while preserving essential features. Furthermore, in comparison to other state-of-the-art models, our proposed model exhibits enhanced robustness and faster convergence, as evidenced by achieving lower loss values after five epochs. Its good performance provides a new development idea for the field of EEG denoising. © 2023, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. All rights reserved.

Linear codes with few weights have applications in secret sharing, authentication codes, association schemes and strongly regular graphs. In this paper, several classes of t -weight linear codes over F q are presented with the defining sets given by the intersection, difference and union of two certain sets, where t = 3 , 4 , 5 , 6 and q is an odd prime power. By using Weil sums and Gauss sums, the parameters and weight distributions of these codes are determined completely. Moreover, three classes of optimal codes meeting the Griesmer bound are obtained, and computer experiments show that many (almost) optimal codes can be derived from our constructions.

Because social networks have become a vital part of people's lives, cyberbullying becomes the most common risk encountered by young people on social networking platforms and raised serious concerns in society. Over the past few decades, most existing work on cyberbullying has focused on text analysis. Yet, the cyberbullying develops into multi-objective, multi-channel, and multi-form. Traditional text analysis methods cannot satisfy the diversity of bullying data in social networks. To deal with the new type of cyberbullying, we propose a multi-modal detection framework that takes into multi-modal information(e.g., image, video, comments, time) on social networks. Specifically, we not only extract textual features but also use the hierarchical attention networks to capture the session feature in social networks and encode several media information(e.g., video, image). Based on these features, we model the multi-modal cyberbullying detection framework to solve the new form of cyberbullying. Experimental analysis on two real-world datasets shows that our framework outperforms several existing state-of-the-art models.

Generative API usage code recommendation with parameter concretization

Many programming languages and development frameworks have extensive libraries(e.g., JDK and Android libraries) that ease the task of software engineering if used effectively. With numerous library classes and sometimes intricate API(application programming interface) usage constraints, programmers often have difficulty remembering the library APIs and/or using them correctly. This study addresses this problem by developing an engine called DeepAPIRec, which automatically recommends the API usage *** to the existing proposals, our approach distinguishes itself in two ways. First, it is based on a tree-based long short-term memory(LSTM) neural network inspired by recent developments in the machinelearning community. A tree-based LSTM neural network allows us to model and reason about variable-length,preceding and succeeding code contexts, and to make precise predictions. Second, we apply data-flow analysis to generate concrete parameters for the API usage code, which not only allows us to generate complete code recommendations but also improves the accuracy of the learning results according to the tree-based LSTM neural network. Our approach has been implemented for supporting Java programs. Our experimental studies on the JDK library show that at statement-level recommendations, DeepAPIRec can achieve a top-1 accuracy of about 37% and a top-5 accuracy of about 64%, which are significantly better than the existing approaches. Our user study further confirms that DeepAPIRec can help developers to complete a segment of code faster and more accurately as compared to IntelliJ IDEA.

PRAD: Periapical Radiograph Analysis dataset and Benchmark Model Development

Deep learning (DL), a pivotal technology in artificial intelligence, has recently gained substantial traction in the domain of dental auxiliary diagnosis. However, its application has predominantly been confined to imaging modalities such as panoramic radiographs and Cone Beam Computed Tomography, with limited focus on auxiliary analysis specifically targeting Periapical Radiographs (PR). PR are the most extensively utilized imaging modality in endodontics and periodontics due to their capability to capture detailed local lesions at a low cost. Nevertheless, challenges such as resolution limitations and artifacts complicate the annotation and recognition of PR, leading to a scarcity of publicly available, large-scale, high-quality PR analysis datasets. This scarcity has somewhat impeded the advancement of DL applications in PR analysis. In this paper, we present PRAD-10K, a dataset for PR analysis. PRAD-10K comprises 10,000 clinical periapical radiograph images, with pixel-level annotations provided by professional dentists for nine distinct anatomical structures, lesions, and artificial restorations or medical devices, We also include classification labels for images with typical conditions or lesions. Furthermore, we introduce a DL network named PRNet to establish benchmarks for PR segmentation tasks. Experimental results demonstrate that PRNet surpasses previous state-of-the-art medical image segmentation models on the PRAD-10K dataset. Pulmonary tuberculosis (TB), the most prevalent form of TB, remains a major global public health concern, contributing to more than a million deaths each year. The accurate and timely diagnosis of this disease is of paramount importance for effective control and treatment. Chest X-ray (CXR) images have emerged as a valuable tool for screening lung diseases, including TB, owing to their cost-effectiveness and non-invasiveness. Despite advancements in technology, the challenges associated with interpreting CXR images persist, primarily due to the scarcity of trained radiologists. This underscores the pressing need for an automated and cost-effective computer-aided system capable of diagnosing TB, assisting medical practitioners in distinguishing between TB-positive and negative CXR scans. In response to this need, we introduce an innovative approach called ResNet-fused External Attention Network (ResfEANet). This network excels in accurately classifying TB from CXR images, achieving remarkable levels of accuracy and sensitivity. ResfEANet is built upon ResNet and incorporates an External Attention mechanism, albeit with fewer residual network blocks than ResNet-50 resulting in a relatively shallow network with fewer layers. This approach proves highly effective in feature extraction and yields competitive results in the classification of TB. Our method was employed to train a model that demonstrated an impressive accuracy rate of 97.59% and a remarkable sensitivity of 100% in binary classification tasks with optimal computational cost. These outcomes suggest that our proposed approach has the potential to serve as a valuable secondary tool in clinical decision-making, providing crucial assistance to radiologists and healthcare professionals. © 2023

Learning from pseudo lesion: A self-supervised framework for covid-19 diagnosis

The Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) has rapidly spread all over the world since its first report in December 2019 and thoracic computed tomography (CT) has become one of the main tools for its diagnosis. In recent years, deep learning-based approaches have shown impressive performance in myriad image recognition tasks. However, they usually require a large number of annotated data for training. Inspired by Ground Glass Opacity (GGO), a common finding in COIVD-19 patient's CT scans, we proposed in this paper a novel self-supervised pretraining method based on pseudo lesions generation and restoration for COVID-19 diagnosis. We used Perlin noise, a gradient noise based mathematical model, to generate lesion-like patterns, which were then randomly pasted to the lung regions of normal CT images to generate pseudo COVID-19 images. The pairs of normal and pseudo COVID-19 images were then used to train an encoder-decoder architecture based U-Net for image restoration, which does not require any labelled data. The pretrained encoder was then fine-tuned using labelled data for COVID-19 diagnosis task. Two public COVID- 19 diagnosis datasets made up of CT images were employed for evaluation. Comprehensive experimental results demonstrated that the proposed self-supervised learning approach could extract better feature representation for COVID-19 diagnosis and the accuracy of the proposed method outperformed the supervised model pretrained on large scale images by 6.57% and 3.03% on SARS-CoV-2 dataset and Jinan COVID-19 dataset, respectively. © 2021, CC BY-NC-SA.
