Transformer has achieved excellent performance in the knowledge tracing (KT) task, but they are criticized for the manually selected input features for fusion and the defect of single global context modelling to directly capture students' forgetting behavior in KT, when the related records are distant from the current record in terms of time. To address the issues, this paper first considers adding convolution operations to the Transformer to enhance its local context modelling ability used for students' forgetting behavior, then proposes an evolutionary neural architecture search approach to automate the input feature selection and automatically determine where to apply which operation for achieving the balancing of the local/global context modelling. In the search space design, the original global path containing the attention module in Transformer is replaced with the sum of a global path and a local path that could contain different convolutions, and the selection of input features is also considered. To search the best architecture, we employ an effective evolutionary algorithm to explore the search space and also suggest a search space reduction strategy to accelerate the convergence of the algorithm. Experimental results on the two largest and most challenging education datasets demonstrate the effectiveness of the architecture found by the proposed approach.

In practical applications, noise is more appropriately modelled as an a-stable random process than as a Gaussian process. To cope with a-stable noise, a fractional-order stochastic gradient descent (SGD) method is invented to adaptive filtering (AF) algorithms. When both input signal and noise follow α-stable random processes, the AF algorithms based on mean square error (MSE) criteria can be affected. Nevertheless, the fractional-order AF (FoAF) algorithm can effectively address this issue. For the purpose of better stability performance of the FoAF algorithm, different cost functions (CFs) are introduced into fractional-order SGD method. Based on the fractional-order derivative of a logarithmic CF (LCF), a fractional-order logarithmic adaptive filtering (FoLAF) algorithm is formed in this condition. Trials show that the FoLAF algorithm achieves faster convergence, excellent steady-state performance and superior tracking performance. © 2023 IEEE.

IOTA (Internet of Things Applications) protocol aims to provide a secure and trustworthy protocol for realizing data-value interactions between IoT devices, and it has become the next possible direction for the development of Blockchain applications. IOTA protocol has the problem that the time-consuming cumulative weight update grows too fast with the increase of the number of transactions, this paper proposed an improved IOTA protocol based on optimal midway walk, the improved protocol uses cutting-edge transaction selection algorithm of weighted Monte Carlo Markov random walk to reduce cumulative weight update delay. Firstly, this improved IOTA protocol mainly ensures the efficiency of transaction confirmation without losing the security of consensus by introducing the optimal midway walk method, i.e., the starting point of each walk is chosen to depart at an optimal location. Secondly, this paper designs the indirect verification identity record algorithm and the layer degree of confirmation principle are designed to realize the improved IOTA protocol's resilience and resistance to Parasite chain attack. The experimental results show that the improved IOTA using random function to select the midway walk starting point from i-50λ, to i-75λsubstantially solves the system computational burden problem and greatly reduces the cumulative weight update delay. © 2023 IEEE.

Currently, few-shot object detection (FSOD) methods for synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images are severely understudied. The high confidentiality and scarcity of SAR data, coupled with the susceptibility of targets in SAR images to significant changes in orientation, make existing models sensitive to variations in novel class examples. This sensitivity leads to challenges in extracting class prototypes and accurately estimating class centers for novel classes. To solve the above issues, we propose a few-shot object detection algorithm for SAR images via Gaussian Flow Class-Balanced Differential Aggregation. Specifically, we first design a class-balanced difference feature aggregation module to solve the problems of difficult class distribution estimation and inaccurate class center estimation of novel classes in SAR images. Second, the contextual information perception module is designed to extract the most representative support features into fine-grained prototypes and aggregate them with the query features using the matching paradigm to solve the imbalance between foreground targets and background in SAR images. Finally, experimental results on MSAR-AIR dataset indicate that our model realizes the best detection properties on SAR images compared to existing models.

Aspect-based sentiment analysis (ABSA) is a crucial granular task within sentiment analysis, focusing on the precise identification of sentiment orientations for specific aspects within text. Recognizing that identical context words can express opposing sentiment polarities in different situations, it's essential to delve into the nuanced interactions between target and context words. This study introduces an RCG-based Hybrid Attention Network, a novel architecture that adeptly utilizes lexical attention mechanisms to extract lexical features and fortify the relationship between aspects and their corresponding target words. To assess the efficacy of our proposed approach, we conducted experiments on a well-known public dataset. The results show a significant 3.37% enhancement in accuracy and a 1.38% improvement in Macro-F1 scores compared to related methods, affirming the superiority of our technique in enhancing the performance of aspect-level sentiment analysis. © 2024 SPIE.

This paper presents a novel approach for calculating graphene-based structures in the complying divergence implicit finite-difference time-domain (CDI-FDTD) method. To begin, the differential iteration formula of graphene structure in the CDI-FDTD method is derived utilizing the auxiliary-differential-equation (ADE) method. Next, the transmission characteristics of an infinite graphene sheet in an open space are investigated by conducting simulation analyses within the CDI-FDTD framework, considering various magnetostatic or electrostatic biases. Finally, the simulation results were compared with analytical solutions and the results obtained from traditional FDTD methods, confirming the unconditional stability and reliability of the proposed method. © 2023 Applied Computational Electromagnetics Society (ACES).

Large language models trained on large-scale text corpora have become the primary solution for various natural language processing tasks. The alignment work to make the output content of large models consistent with human values and true intentions has become a significant research topic. This paper investigates the alignment of large models and related evaluation work by specifying the alignment goals at three levels: human instructions, human preferences, and human values. And then introducing the alignment paradigms and methods such as In-context Learning, Supervised Fine-tuning, and Reinforcement Learning, along with evaluation work derived from the alignment task, and presenting the existing evaluation paradigms and benchmarks. Finally, by synthesizing and refining existing research findings, the paper provides insights into the future development of alignment tasks for large language models. © 2024 ACM.

As the scale of the networks continually expands,the detection of distributed denial of service(DDoS)attacks has become increasingly *** propose an intelligent detection model named IGED by using improved generalized entropy and deep neural network(DNN).The initial detection is based on improved generalized entropy to filter out as much normal traffic as possible,thereby reducing data *** the fine detection is based on DNN to perform precise DDoS detection on the filtered suspicious traffic,enhancing the neural network’s generalization *** results show that the proposed method can efficiently distinguish normal traffic from DDoS *** with the benchmark methods,our method reaches 99.9%on low-rate DDoS(LDDoS),flooded DDoS and CICDDoS2019 datasets in terms of both accuracy and efficiency in identifying attack flows while reducing the time by 17%,31%and 8%.

A simple broadband slotted circularly-polarized (CP) antenna (SBS-CP) is presented, which mainly consists of a ground structure with a modified slot and an asymmetric feeding structure. The two structures can give different CP characteristics in low and high frequencies. By etching rectangular slots in the ground structure, the coupling effect between feeding and ground structure will be improved and the bandwidth will be broadened. By modeling and optimizing the antenna, the proposed antenna impedance bandwidth (IBW) and axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW) are 113% (2.08~7.46 GHz) and 97% (2.5~7.24 GHz), respectively. © 2023 IEEE.
