Preprocessed GMRES for fast solution of linear equations

The article mainly introduces preprocessing algorithms for solving linear equation systems. This algorithm uses three algorithms as inner iterations, namely RPCG algorithm, ADI algorithm, and Kaczmarz algorithm. Then, it uses BA-GMRES as an outer iteration to solve the linear equation system. These three algorithms can indirectly generate preprocessing matrices, which are used for solving equation systems. In addition, we provide corresponding convergence analysis and numerical examples. Through numerical examples, we demonstrate the effectiveness and feasibility of these preprocessing methods. Furthermore, in the Kaczmarz algorithm, we introduce both constant step size and adaptive step size, and extend the parameter range of the Kaczmarz algorithm to α ∈ (0, ∞). We also study the solution rate of linear equation systems using different step sizes. Numerical examples show that both constant step size and adaptive step size have higher solution efficiency than the solving algorithm without preprocessing. © 2024, CC BY.

We propose the antenna developments from nature to engineering, which is a natural method to train student for designing antenna. Also, the interest of the students can be stimulated. Using this method, the students can get how to design antennas and will be interested on the antenna engineering. Then, young talents can be brought up. By using this strategy, a nature Logo is introduced and cooperated with the proposed talent training method to get new antennas. Also, the results for the developed antenna is also simulated and analyzed based on the theory from the text book. In the future, the proposed talents training techniques or method can also be expanded to other different research directions. © 2022 IEEE.

Scribble supervised salient object detection (SSSOD) constructs segmentation ability of attractive objects from surroundings under the supervision of sparse scribble labels. For the better segmentation, depth and thermal infrared modalities serve as the supplement to RGB images in the complex scenes. Existing methods specifically design various feature extraction and multi-modal fusion strategies for RGB, RGB-Depth, RGB-Thermal, and Visual-Depth-Thermal image input respectively, leading to similar model flood. As the recently proposed Segment Anything Model (SAM) possesses extraordinary segmentation and prompt interactive capability, we propose an SSSOD family based on SAM, named SSFam, for the combination input with different modalities. Firstly, different modal-aware modulators are designed to attain modal-specific knowledge which cooperates with modal-agnostic information extracted from the frozen SAM encoder for the better feature ensemble. Secondly, a siamese decoder is tailored to bridge the gap between the training with scribble prompt and the testing with no prompt for the stronger decoding ability. Our model demonstrates the remarkable performance among combinations of different modalities and refreshes the highest level of scribble supervised methods and comes close to the ones of fully supervised methods. https://***/liuzywen/SSFam Copyright © 2024, The Authors. Unsupervised domain adaptation (UDA) aims to transfer the knowledge learned from the labeled source domain to the unlabeled target domain. Traditional methods often focus on minimizing the distribution gap between feature spaces of the two domains to achieve domain-invariant representations. However, this approach may not fully leverage the inherent class-specific information and could adversely affect decision boundaries in the target domain. In this paper, we introduce an adversarial contrastive self-training framework. The model integrates both intra-class and inter-class domain differences for better alignment between the source and target domains. Initially, we augment target domain samples using Fourier transformations, obtaining reliable samples and pseudo-labels through self-training. We then employ intra-domain contrastive learning on the reliable samples and pseudo-labels, alongside labeled source domain samples, to achieve intra-domain compactness. Finally, we utilize adversarial learning to achieve global alignment. This comprehensive approach ensures improved adaptation performance while also addressing the limitations of previous methods.

A preconditioned iteration method for solving saddle point problems

This paper introduces a preconditioned method designed to comprehensively address the saddle point system with the aim of improving convergence efficiency. In the preprocessor construction phase, a technical approach for solving the approximate inverse matrix of sparse matrices is presented. The effectiveness of the proposed method is demonstrated through numerical examples, emphasizing its efficacy in approximating the inverse matrix. Furthermore, the preprocessing technology includes a low-rank processing step, effectively reducing algorithmic complexity. Numerical experiments validate the effectiveness and feasibility of PSLR-GMRES in solving the saddle point system. © 2024, CC BY.

This technical note presents a counterexample showing that the equivalence conditions proposed by Geng et al. (IEEE Trans. Automat. Control, 2024), which use a minimum-order compensator (MOC) to achieve desired designs, including generalized regularity or both generalized regularity and free of impulse, are sufficient but not necessary. Furthermore, revised equivalence conditions are introduced, along with an equivalence condition ensuring the closed-loop system remains generalized regular, impulse-free, and stable using MOC. Additionally, it is shown that output feedback can replace the MOC, achieving the same design without increasing dimensionality. As one kind of anisotropic two-dimensional (2-D) layered material, the monolayer black phosphorus (BP) has ability to excite the surface plasmon resonance in the infrared spectrum, thus providing sufficient conditions for the strong light-matter interaction, so that some potential applications can be shown in the field of optoelectronics. Based on those physical properties, we design the patterned monolayer BP to achieve extremely high infrared absorption, and meanwhile use the finite element method to model the effects of factors such as n-type doping concentration, dielectric thickness, and angle of incidence light. Moreover, due to the strong anisotropic in-plane properties of monolayer BP, we analyze detailedly the absorption spectra in both the armchair and zigzag directions separately, and then understand that low-angle narrow-band absorption in the zigzag direction could be captured in that structure. The structure could achieve perfect absorption in the zigzag direction at an incidence angle of 89.3° with n-type doping concentration n=3×1013 cm-2 and medium thickness d = 4.6 μm, and the maximum absorption can reach 99.98% with the full width at half peak (FWHM) of only 0.57 μm. Considering the case on surface oxidation, it may occur some possible effects for the perfect absorption, but with our structure, the proposed narrow-band absorption still has wide applications in the sensing and light body monitoring. © 2023, The Authors. To overcome image degradation under the conditions of haze,and fog,a method using conditional generative adversarial defogging algorithm based on polarization characteristic is *** original images with different polarization angles were obtained from the original image,and then the polarization images were characterized using Stokes *** the relationship between Stokes vector and polarization image,each polarization image with different angles is input into the same network to extract *** the same time,the enhanced network is used to extract the characteristics of the fog area in the polarization image,and the polarization information is extracted by layer jump connection,which is fused with the image features of different *** constructing the loss function and obtaining the optimal solution,the fog-free image is finally *** results show that a clear image can be reconstructed in fog situations by using conditional generative adversarial network-based on polarization characteristics,and the structural similarity is improved by about 10%,the peak signal to noise ratio is increased by about 0.5.

Aiming at the problem that ultra-wideband systems are easily interfered by narrowband signals, In this paper, a novel ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter with dual-notch characteristics. This filter is mainly composed of Composition of a multimode resonator (MMR)and a folded dual-mode step-impedance resonator. Paralleling T-shaped SIR stubs in the basic MMR structure realizes the introduction of transmission zeros within the passband. At the same time, a pair of high-impedance stubs are also loaded to extend the upper stopband of the filter, and a folded dual-mode stepped impedance resonator is coupled below the filter to generate dual-notch frequencies. Through the electromagnetic simulation software HFSS for simulation optimization, the simulation results show that the passband of the filter is 3.42~11.21GHz and its notch frequencies are 8.8GHz and 9.5GHz respectively.
