In a multi-cloud storage system, provenance data records all operations and ownership during its lifecycle, which is critical for data security and audibility. However, recording provenance data also poses some challenging security and storage issues. In this paper, we present a secure and efficient multi-cloud storage data source scheme, BMDP. We use blockchain technology to ensure the secure storage of provenance data and design a smart contract to utilize the provenance data to ensure the proper operation of the multi-cloud storage system. Finally, we analyze the scheme’s safety and do simulation experiments to show that the scheme has practicality.

Adjusting Dynamics of Hopfield Neural Network via Time-variant Stimulus

As a paradigmatic model for nonlinear dynamics studies, the Hopfield Neural Network (HNN) demonstrates a high susceptibility to external disturbances owing to its intricate structure. This paper delves into the challenge of modulating HNN dynamics through time-variant stimuli. The effects of adjustments using two distinct types of time-variant stimuli, namely the Weight Matrix Stimulus (WMS) and the State Variable Stimulus (SVS), along with a Constant Stimulus (CS) are reported. The findings reveal that deploying four WMSs enables the HNN to generate either a four-scroll or a coexisting two-scroll attractor. When combined with one SVS, four WMSs can lead to the formation of an eight-scroll or four-scroll attractor, while the integration of four WMSs and multiple SVSs can induce grid-multi-scroll attractors. Moreover, the introduction of a CS and an SVS can significantly disrupt the dynamic behavior of the HNN. Consequently, suitable adjustment methods are crucial for enhancing the network’s dynamics, whereas inappropriate applications can lead to the loss of its chaotic characteristics. To empirically validate these enhancement effects, the study employs an FPGA hardware platform. Subsequently, an image encryption scheme is designed to demonstrate the practical application benefits of the dynamically adjusted HNN in secure multimedia communication. This paper proposes a low-coupling planar compact four-element ultra-wideband antenna based on the EBG structure for multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems. The MIMO antenna is composed of four miniaturized monopole antenna elements based on the half-cut method and a periodic electromagnetic band gap (EBG) structure. The traditional mushroom-shaped EBG structure is cut into squares and a pair of harpoon-shaped microstrip lines are introduced. Structure to reduce its resonant frequency and increase the band gap width. By loading the improved EBG structure in the middle of the MIMO antenna, the electromagnetic coupling between the components is greatly reduced. In addition, the stop band characteristics in the WLAN band (5.725–5.825GHz) are realized by adding a U-shaped resonant stub to the right side of the feeder of the monopole antenna. The experimental results show that it has a good reflection coefficient in the passband bandwidth range of 2.90–11.7GHz, covering the 3.1–10.6GHz frequency band specified by UWB, the isolation between the components is greater than 15dB, and good envelope correlation. The coefficient ECC is <0.02, which proves that the antenna is a potential candidate for ultra-wideband applications.

Integrated photonic gadgets play a key function in lots of fields. The process of designing silicon optical devices mostly relies on experience to manually adjust the subtle parameters, which is laborious and ineffective. The proposed inverse design algorithms can simplify the design process of silicon optical devices, improve the design efficiency, and realize multifunctional compact devices. In this paper, two inverse design based methods are proposed to design terahertz band wavelength division multiplexer(WDM). One is based on topology optimization to design a 4-channel ultra-wideband WDM and the other employs a direct binary search technique to create a 3-channel ultra-wideband terahertz WDM, both of which have high transmission, low interference and high integration. Multifunctional photonics devices are predicted to be increasingly used in modern photonic integrated circuits due to these advantages.

Mobile edge computing (MEC) reduces latency and power consumption of mobile devices by deploying servers on the network edge. Due to the limited computing resources of the MEC server, excessive offloading of the users in local cells will bring unexpected queuing delay and high energy consumption. To deal with these problems, this paper proposes a Multi-user Queue Offloading multi-dimensional game algorithm (MQO). By the algorithm, users could choose the most suitable strategy, in which the strategy space is two-dimensional to satisfy different needs of different users to a certain extent, including the offload strategy and power control of users. Simulation results show that MQO can improve the performance of both overhead and offloading number with the increase of users. © 2020 IEEE.

This paper presents an efficient method for analyzing the metasurface of varying element sizes or rotate angles. In this method, the characteristic modes (CMs) for metasurface element can be obtained by solving a generalized eigenvalue problem (GEP) based on the mixed potential integral equation (MPIE). Then, by choosing the first several CMs of the isolated reference element with larger mode significance (MS) to construct the entire domain basis functions, the induced current of the metasurface structure can be expanded using the set of entire domain basis functions. By truncating the order of the entire domain basis functions, this method can significantly reduce the number of unknowns and greatly reduce the computational time and memory requirement.

In the intricate dance of multi-agent systems, achieving average consensus is not just vital–it is the backbone of their functionality. In conventional average consensus algorithms, all agents reach an agreement by individual calculations and sharing information with their respective neighbors. Nevertheless, the information interactions that occur in the communication network may make sensitive information be revealed. In this paper, we develop a new privacy-preserving average consensus method on unbalanced directed networks. Specifically, we ensure privacy preservation by carefully embedding randomness in mixing weights to confuse communications and introducing an extra auxiliary parameter to mask the state-updated rule in initial several iterations. In parallel, we exploit the intrinsic robustness of consensus dynamics to guarantee that the average consensus is precisely achieved. Theoretical results demonstrate that the designed algorithms can converge linearly to the exact average consensus value and can guarantee privacy preservation of agents against both honest-but-curious and eavesdropping attacks. © 2023, CC BY.

Crystalline defects play a critical role in determining the properties of crystalline solids, underscoring the need for accurate computational methods to study them. Lattice deformation in dislocation simulations, which involves changes in atomic positions, can be described either microscopically by specific atomic configurations or macroscopically by continuum elasticity, each with inherent limitations. The complex amplitude expansion of the phase field crystal (APFC) model provides a mesoscopic approach that bridges these scales. In this paper, we introduce a Fourier pseudospectral method for efficiently solving the APFC model in the context of crystalline defect simulations. This study marks the first application of the Fourier pseudospectral method to the APFC model. The method fully exploits the system’s periodicity and facilitates the implementation of periodic boundary conditions, thanks to its high accuracy and computational efficiency. Numerical experiments conducted on two-dimensional triangular lattices and three-dimensional body-centered cubic lattices for edge dislocation geometry optimization have produced strain field images that align well with by continuum elasticity predictions. The findings demonstrate the potential of the APFC model to accurately capture the complex strain fields associated with dislocations at the mesoscopic scales, a key step toward modeling more intricate crystalline defect structures and dynamics. © 2024, CC BY.

We propose a latent multi-view subspace clustering model based on Laplacian regularized representation. To emphasize the information of the representation matrix at the local level and reflect the grouping effect of clustering, a Laplacian regularization is imposed on the representation matrix. Additionally, To boost the efficiency o f c lustering, we apply nonnegative constraints on the representation matrix. A unified framework is designed to solve the proposed model by using ALM and LADMAP methods. The proposed model has excellent performance, as demonstrated by a number of experimental findings.
