According to the problem that conventional laminated paper counting algorithms have some unavoidable shortcomings such as high dependence on the quality of laminated paper and noise sensitivity, we propose a laminated paper counting algorithm based on compressive sensing (CS) and Hough transform (HT). In the proposed algorithm, the over-complete dictionary which is created by dispersing the Hough transform space of straight lines acts as the sparse matrix. Making use of high degree of sparse nature of the laminated paper image, we can obtain the accurate result through using CS theory. Experimental results on simulation images and laminated paper images have shown that our proposed algorithm can effectively restrain noise of the laminated paper image, and will get accurate experimental results with fewer CS measurements.

In this article, we present a novel non-local video denoising scheme using low-rank representation and total variation regularization. The proposed scheme attempts to make full use of the intrinsic properties that the grouping similar patches not only lie in a low-rank subspace but are also sparse in total variation (TV) domain. For a group of similar patches, we formulate video denoising problem into a concise model that combines nuclear norm, TV regularization and l_1 norm. The experiments demonstrate that the proposed scheme is capable of handling multi-type noise including dense Gaussian noise and random-valued sparse noise, while maintaining the texture information meantime. The results show that our scheme achieves noticeable performance improvement over the state-of-the-art video denoising methods.

This paper investigates the problem of joint design of a receding horizon control and the medium access scheduling for quantized controlsystems over limited bandwidth networks, in which only a limited number of actuators are allowed to communicate with the controller at each time instant. By introducing a communication scheduling matrix to describe the medium access status and considering the influence of quantizers, we can model the controlsystem as a switched model with structured norm-bounded uncertainties. The stabilizing channels with guaranteed stability are chosen first. Based on the stabilizing channels, a receding horizon control strategy with optimal dynamic resource allocation is proposed by minimizing the upper bound on a finite-horizon quadratic performance index. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the developed method finally.

This paper focus on dynamic visual seroving of a cable-driven soft robotic manipulator system. The soft robotic manipulator has no rigid structure. Based on Lagrange mechanics, kinetic energy, elastic potential energy and gravitational potential energy of each segment are analyzed, thus general dynamic equation of the soft robotic manipulator is obtained. On this basis, a depth-independent image Jacobian matrix is presented and an image-based visual servo controller is designed. Applied by adaptive algorithm, the controller could estimate unknown 3D feature positions online, and Lyapunov method is involved to prove the stability of the system. Experiments are conducted to demonstrate reasonableness and validity of dynamic model of the soft robotic manipulator and image-based adaptive visual servo controller.

This paper proposes a route planning algorithm for the automatic garment cutter, a machine extensively used in the clothing industry, aiming at reducing the length and improving the smoothness of quick moving route for the cutter. With proper constraints for the cloth segments and knife-down points, the route planning problem is resolved into a generalized travelling salesman problem (GTSP) of the first category, for which an enhanced genetic algorithm is proposed. In this paper, we firstly outline the procedure of the algorithm and discuss some important details, including individual fitness calculation based on the multistage graph problem, a local search algorithm with 2-opt method, etc. Then a positionreservation crossover operator based on dual-relevancy, and an adaptive mutation operator based on population dispersion are proposed, which can accelerate convergence of the algorithm as well as prevent locking into local minima as much as possible. Finally, experimental tests are performed on the GTSP Instances Library and the data of garment CAD files, which demonstrates the effectiveness of our route planning strategy in terms of both solution quality and running time.

In this paper, we consider the control of large-scale processes with both input and state couplings. A distributed model predictive control(MPC) strategy for tracking based on the reference trajectories is presented. The proposed distributed MPC strategy requires decomposing a large-scale system into several smaller ones and solving convex optimization problems independently. Distributed MPC tracking strategies for unconstrained and constrained processes are presented, respectively. An iterative algorithm is presented to coordinate the distributed MPC controllers. The proposed algorithm is applied to a four-tank process to demonstrate the effectiveness.
