The piezoelectric actuator is one kind of device that can drive nanoscale motion. However, the nonlinear hysteresis effect induced by its natural material greatly degrades its positioning accuracy. To handle this challenging issue, this work develops a Koopman model predict control (Koopman- MPC) framework for the piezoelectric actuator. Specifically, the Koopman operator theory is adapted for modeling the piezoelectric actuator dynamics. A simple yet powerful linear model spanned in a high-dimensional space is thus constructed to characterize the hysteresis dynamics. Subsequently, upon the established Koopman model, an MPC scheme is put forward for tracking control of piezoelectric actuators. Therein, by sustained optimizing a cost function containing future outputs and control increments, the control input is obtained. Moreover, extensive tracking simulations are carried out on a simulated piezoelectric actuator for verifying the feasibility and effectiveness of the Koopman- Mpc scheme. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

A Compact Quasi-Magnetic-Electric Circularly Polarized Antenna with Reconfigurable Patterns

A novel compact quasi-magnetic-electric circularly polarized (CP) antenna with reconfigurable patterns is proposed. The antenna, featuring a compact structure and a simple feeding mechanism, can generate four endfire CP radiation beams covering the entire azimuth plane. The antenna is composed of four quasi-magnetic-electric elements arranged in rotational symmetry. Each element consists of two layers of staggered trapezoidal shorted metals with a compact size of 0.51 λ0 × 0.16 λ0 × 0.05 λ0 (λ0 denotes the free space wavelength at 900 MHz) and is designed to provide an endfire CP beam with a single feed. By integrating four such elements and switching the excited elements through the feeding ports, the antenna can obtain four endfire CP radiation patterns in different directions. There are always some 'key' nodes in a big complex network, which can joint the most connected subgraphs. How to identify these nodes, finding a minimum set of nodes to attack for reducing the size of residual network's Largest Connected Component(LCC) to break up the original network, has become a research hotspot. Therefore, a method for determining the 'key' nodes based on reinforcement learning framework and supervised learning model is proposed. This algorithm can not only utilize the dynamic exploration ability of reinforcement learning to collect a rich training dataset, but also take advantage of the characteristics that supervised learning is adaptive and has strong generalization ability to possess high efficiency and strong robustness. In order to further improve the algorithm's performance, ϵ-greedy mechanism is used to explore more network states. The experiment results show that given the same fraction of removed nodes, our algorithm can make the residual LCC smaller in various networks which is superior to the state-of-the-art algorithms in terms of effectiveness and generalization. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

Electromigartion (EM) reliability of backside power delivery network (BSPDN) using three kinds of techniques (BPR, TSVM and BSC) is comprehensively investigated by proposed electro-thermal-stress fully coupled EM simulation method. The physical behaviors of metal atom migration, vacancy generation and void nucleation are reproduced to offer the understanding of microscopic void evolutions. The obtained position of EM failure and resistance degradation show a well agreement with the experiments in different metals. By studying the time to failure (TTF) of various BSPDNs connected to power lines (GND, VDD) with alternative metal materials (W, Ru, Mo), valuable insights can be gained to mitigate potential failure risks and enhance the EM reliability of advanced interconnects technology. The tradeoffs of power-performance-area-reliability (PPAR) are predicted in different BSPDNs at N2 node. © 2023 IEEE.

Command filter-based I&I adaptive control for MIMO uncertain systems with input saturation and disturbances

This paper develops a control strategy based on immersion and invariance(I&I) adaptive methodology for a class of multi-input multi-output(MIMO) systems in the presence of parametric uncertainty, input saturation, and external disturbance. To avoid the analytic calculation in the backstepping process, a highgain auxiliary system is constructed to compensate for the effect of command filter error. The first-order command filters are also employed in the construction procedure of the I&I adaptive law to simplify its design and remove the structural conditions on the regressors. A filter-based disturbance observer is developed to counteract the effect of the external disturbance produced by a partially known exogenous *** overcome the input saturation nonlinearity, a smooth function is introduced to approximate the input saturation with an extended state and a bounding estimation law. Stringent analysis guarantees the stability of closed-loop system. Finally, simulated examples confirm the effectiveness of the suggested method.

Temperature variation is a crucial design concern in advanced technology as it greatly impacts the stability of performance and reliability when circuits operate over the wide temperature range. Zero Temperature Delay (ZTD) point was proposed to mitigate performance volatilities of digital circuit induced by temperature variations. However, ZTD-based design approach suffers from the effects of aging, which reduces the effectiveness of the long-term temperature immunity of digital circuit. In this paper, we propose a standard cell subset-based design strategy to improve immunity to aging and temperature variation. The standard cell subset is generated based on the aging-aware ZTD determination for each standard cell. Utilizing the standard cell subset in the processes of logic synthesis, library characterization, and timing analysis enables to gain aging and temperature immunity simultaneously, which is demonstrated on typical benchmark circuits and is proven to be an effective solution. © 2023 IEEE.

The research of fuel cell and lithium battery hybrid system has attracted more and more researchers because of its advantages of low emission. However, the lower efficiency of energy management has been a critical factor that obstruct the commercialization of hybrid system. In this work, based on finite element ideas, a solid oxide full cell node model is developed to accurately estimate the operating status of the fuel cell. As for lithium battery, previous energy management studies generally only focused on state of charge, however, state of health is also a key parameter for lithium battery. In this paper, considering the strong coupling between variables we use particle filter algorithm to jointly estimate the state of charge and state of health. To reasonably distribute and manage the energy in the hybrid system, a T-S fuzzy controller for the hybrid system is designed by controlling the state variables in the SOFC model and the state of lithium battery. Finally, our algorithm is verified by DSPACE simulation platform. The result shows that the hybrid system with the energy management strategy not only meets the real-time sharply changing demand but also ensures the hybrid system working efficiently and safely. © 2022 China Electric Power Research Institute. We propose the novel scheme to solve a multi-objective optimization problem over an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) communications system to jointly minimize the energy consumption of the UAV and ground users (GUs). In particular, the UAV communicates with multiple GUs using active intelligent reflecting surfaces (IRSs), which can actively amplify and thus significantly enhance the strengths of reflected signals. We develop an energy minimization scheme based on the multi-objective hierarchical deep reinforcement learning (DRL), by decomposing the formulated optimization problem into two-layered subproblems. By solving the upper-level subproblem, we derive the optimal UAV trajectory and GUs scheduling strategies to minimize the UAV's energy consumption. By solving the lower-level subproblem, we obtain the IRS's phase shifts and amplification factors and GUs' transmit/receive beamforming to minimize the GUs' energy consumption. Finally, we validate and evaluate the proposed schemes through simulations, which show that the UAV's and GUs' energy consumption can be significantly reduced by using the active IRS, when the thermal noise powers at the IRS are much smaller than those at the UAV and GUs. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial surveillance videos capture subsequent video frames and deliver them to processing servers for video analytics. In such a case, image compression is a promising technology in industrial scene understanding due to its reduced transmission burden. Existing works focus on establishing macroscopic visual feature maps that contain compact image information. In this article, a cross-modality guided multi-scale feature representation based image compression method is proposed for understanding industrial scenes. Firstly, an image compressing framework with multi-grained representation (MGRIC) is proposed for industrial scene understanding, which builds image patch, structure, semantic, and signal levels feature maps. Secondly, an encoder-decoder architecture is designed for image compression with diverse granularities. Thirdly, an interaction policy between different levels is developed to ensure the subsequent level’s decoding. Experiments on the CUB-200-2011 dataset demonstrate that the proposed MGRIC method achieves competitive performance, which verifies its effectiveness. © 2024 IEEE.

Optimal control of constrained unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) trajectory optimization problem is one of the frontiers and hotspots of UAV research. The various constraints generated by physical limitations and obstacles in the environment increase the difficulties of solving the trajectory optimization problem, especially when the limited sensing ability is taken into consideration. This paper presents the receding horizon optimization method to obtain optimal control for the UAV with limited sensing range in a complex environment with obstacles. To improve efficiency, a path constraint processing method is proposed to reduce the number of constraints in the nonlinear programming problem (NLP). The proposed main structure and detailed algorithm are also given. The numerical results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method compared with the classical Gauss pseudospectral method. © 2024 IEEE.
