Gbps key rate passive-state-preparation continuous-variable quantum key distribution within an access-network area

The conventional Gaussian-modulated coherent-state quantum key distribution(QKD) protocol requires the sender to perform active modulations based on a true random number generator. Compared with it, the passive-state-preparation(PSP) continuous-variable quantum key distribution(CVQKD) equivalently performs modulations passively by exploring the intrinsic field fluctuations of a thermal source, which offers the prospect of chip integration QKD with low cost. In this paper, we propose and experimentally demonstrate a high-rate PSP-CVQKD scheme within an access-network area using high-bandwidth detectors in a continuous wave encoding and decoding way. By proposing effective methods for suppressing the noises during the PSP process and polarization multiplexing to decrease the photon leakage noises, we realize the high-intensity local oscillator transmission, thereby achieving coherent detection with high efficiency, low noise, and high bandwidth. The secure key rates over transmission distance of 5.005 km with and without consideration of the finite-size effect are 273.25 Mbps and 1.09 Gbps. The use of the PSP method boosts the asymptotic secret key rate of CVQKD to Gbps level for the first time, to our knowledge, within the range of the access network, which provides an effective and secure key distribution strategy for high-speed quantum cryptography access communication.

Toward carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals in China, a transition from traditional fossil power to renewable energy becomes an imperative need. This paper aims to address the planning problem of a highly renewable-energy penetrated energy hub system, coupled with carbon capture facilities and downstream production processes of hydrogen and methanol, under the uncertainty of renewable power output. To this end, we propose a two-stage distributionally robust optimal planning model, where investment decisions are the first-stage variables and operation variables are determined at the second stage after the realization of uncertainty. In the proposed model, we utilize historical data samples to construct a strengthened ambiguity set that leverages both Wasserstein distance and moment information for a better characterization of renewable generation uncertainty. Moreover, to efficiently solve the proposed planning problem, we develop a simplified affine decision rule method in a general setting with both moment and Wasserstein ambiguity, and then apply it to reformulate the distributionally robust planning problem. The derived reformulation possesses the favorable property that its scale is free from the sample size, thus greatly reducing the computational complexity. Computational results validate the effectiveness of the proposed planning model and the computational efficiency of the solution methodology. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

The technology of software-defined changing all areas of life, but the equipment storage system in the field of application is still in its infancy. At present, the traditional equipment warehousing scheduling system is difficult to meet the new needs of rapid scheduling and flexible maintenance of large quantities of equipment. Based on the development and application characteristics of software definition technology, this paper integrates the traditional equipment storage scheduling system and presents the research on the architecture design technology of equipment storage scheduling system under software definition technology. This paper clarifies the key application technologies of the system, realizes the design of new open system architecture based on software-defined technology and the optimization design of system center service platform architecture, and improves the architecture design ability of automation, configuration ability, and easy maintenance of the existing equipment storage scheduling system. In recent years, deep learning has made significant progress in medical imaging, deepening the crossover between the medical and industrial fields. However, not all medical images are suitable for deep learning neural networks;simultaneously, some medical images are difficult to collect and preprocess. In this paper, we reconstruct the image information collected by dental clinicians over many years, normalizing it with diagnostic results as the gold standard. On this basis, we explore the applicability and potential of deep learning on complex medical images. Further, we compare the performance of multiple models on this dataset and visualize the learning outcomes, demonstrating that deep learning networks exhibit good learning capabilities on certain images. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In recent years, data-driven robust optimization (DDRO) is becoming a popular and effective paradigm to address the challenging issue of uncertainty in energy chemical processes. This paper provides an overview of recent advances in the field of DDRO, with a primary focus on its methods and applications in process industries. Firstly, a brief introduction to various robust optimization model formulations and solution algorithms is presented. Secondly, research achievements of machine-learning enabled uncertainty sets, the corresponding DDRO, and variant techniques are summarized and analyzed in a systematic manner. Additionally, tutorial-like numerical examples are used to illustrate merits of DDRO compared with conventional robust optimization. Finally, fruitful applications of DDRO in energy chemical processes are encapsulated and categorized from domain perspectives. © 2022 IEEE.

Temperature Prediction for Stored Grain: A Multi-model Fusion Approach Based on Machine Learning

Temperature fluctuations significantly affect microorganism growth and pest activity in grain stacks. Thus, precise monitoring and forecasting of grain stack temperature are essential for maintaining the quality and safety of grain storage. This paper proposes a multi-model fusion approach to predict grain temperature using historical temperature data of stored grains and meteorological data from the region. Based on the proposed approaches, four distinct machine learning models, namely Adaboost, decision tree, extra trees, and random forest, are first developed. These models are then fine-tuned through parameter optimization to enhance their predictive capabilities. Subsequently, the optimized models are combined to form different ensemble models. In essence, the fusion process integrates the predictions of each individual model as new feature inputs into the prediction model. Furthermore, the study utilizes the random forest to identify the key factors influencing grain temperature, providing insights into the importance of different influencing factors. The experimental results demonstrate that the fusion models proposed in this paper have achieved higher prediction accuracy and robustness compared with the traditional prediction methods (i.e., single-model prediction). Additionally, the analysis of feature importance also offers empirical evidence for understanding the factors influencing grain temperature. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

In the field of flight control systems, actuators play a crucial role, and dynamic stiffness stands as one of the pivotal metrics to gauge their performance, reflecting the actuators' resilience to external disturbances. Hence, investigating dynamic stiffness is paramount for enhancing the overall performance of flight control systems. This study focuses on a hydraulic dual-parallel actuator system, wherein a mathematical model is established to derive the expression for dynamic stiffness. Leveraging the Amesim software, a simulation model of the parallel actuator system is constructed to conduct an in-depth analysis of its dynamic stiffness characteristics. During simulation, sinusoidal loading forces of varying frequencies are applied at the output end of the actuator system, and displacement response data is collected. Subsequently, the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is employed to obtain dynamic stiffness, enabling an analysis of its variations. The relationship between the system's natural frequency and dynamic stiffness is explored, along with an investigation into the primary factors influencing dynamic stiffness. Simulation results indicate that enhancing both support and connection stiffness,reducing load mass and enlarging the piston area can enhance the system's dynamic stiffness, thereby meeting the performance requirements of flight control systems. © The Institution of Engineering & Technology 2024.

This paper mainly solves the containment control issue for a network of infinite-dimensional agents described by wave equations. To eliminate influences caused by external disturbances, observers based on partial differential equations are proposed. A novel interaction protocol is then designed to reach containment control under a fixed directed communication topology. Different from the existing works, disturbances with unbounded derivatives are allowed in this paper. A proper Lyapunov function is constructed and the sufficient condition assuring containment control is obtained. Finally, the theoretical results are verified via numerical examples.

This paper provides an oscillation trajectory optimization and control method for two-link underactuated manipulators (UMs) in a vertical plane. The proposed method solves the problem that the UMs cannot always enter the balance region in the partitioning method. First, we establish the system dynamic model, and analyze the system couple characteristics. Then, we program an oscillation trajectory for the active link, and use the intelligent method to obtain the trajectory parameters, so ensuring the system can reach the area adjacent to the target position through tracking control. Next, we design the controller to realize the stable control at the target position. Finally, the simulation results show the effectiveness and generality of the control strategy. © 2023 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.
