As an essential component of the earth system, precipitation plays a crucial role in the regional and global water cycle. This paper uses observations from the Fengyun-3D microwave humidity and temperature sounder and microwave radiation imager, as well as Integrated Multi-satellite Retrievals for GPM (IMERG), to establish a precipitation retrieval model based on the light gradient boosting model (LGBM). Using IMERG as the comparison data, the performance of precipitation identification with the LGBM-based precipitation retrieval model is as follows: accuracy is 0.9302, probability of detection is 0.7683, false alarm rate is 0.3529, and critical success index is 0.5414. The performance of precipitation estimation is also evaluated, with a correlation coefficient of 0.7536, a mean absolute error of 0.9119, and a mean squared error of 3.9506. In summary, this study achieves good performance in precipitation identification and estimation by the LGBM model.

The blind spots of heavy vehicles during right turns arise a safety concern for traffic. Hence, the regulation mandating heavy vehicles to come to a complete stop before making right turns is crucial in ensuring intersection safety. However, the current trajectory planning methods struggle to integrate these traffic regulations, and the restrictions imposed by such traffic rules greatly impact traffic efficiency at intersections. This paper proposes a signal temporal logic (STL) based trajectory planning method for connected and autonomous vehicles (CAVs) at a signal-free intersection, where traffic rules for heavy vehicles are conveniently described by STL formulas. All CAVs at the intersection are modeled without predefined paths to enhance the flexibility of trajectories. Each STL formula is encoded in a standardized way as a conjunction of inequality and equality constraints for the optimization, and the whole trajectory planning of CAVs is achieved through solving a mixed-integer nonlinear programming (MINLP) problem. Simulation results indicate that our method improves traffic efficiency in the scenario with heavy vehicles right turns.

Fault diagnosis and isolation is important for industrial system. In this paper, a kernel canonical variate analysis(KCVA) is proposed for fault isolation. KCVA is originally used as a data dimension reduction technique which can account for nonlinearity and correlations in the industrial dynamical process data. But there are some difficulties using KCVA in the construction of the contribution for the fault isolation. On the one hand, it is difficult to compute the contributions of individual variables because it is scarcely possible to find an inverse mapping from the feature space to the original space. On the other hand, a smearing effect is hardly avoided. To solve the problem, a KCVA-based contributions is proposed using the state subspace and the residual subspace which can isolate the faulty variables effectively. Simulations are conducted on the Tennessee Eastman process to verify the performance of the proposed method.

In this paper, the sea surface wind speed (SSWS) retrieval accuracy for HaiYang-2C (HY-2C) passive microwave radiometer under the severe weather such as typhoon is evaluated. Based on the observation data of HY-2C, this study explores the influence of brightness temperature (TB) observed by microwave radiometer on sea surface wind speed retrieval under typhoon conditions. In the case of typhoon precipitation, the attenuation of the atmosphere to the high frequency channel is stronger, which makes the sea surface information observed by the microwave radiometer very weak. Therefore, we mainly select the TB of horizontal polarization and vertical polarization observation of 6.9GHz and 10.7GHz channels to carry out the study of typhoon wind speed retrieval. This paper constructs a matching data set based on the TB observed by HY-2C passive microwave radiometer, HY-2C L2B wind product and H*wind reanalysis wind field data in October and November 2020. The maximum differences of spatial and temporal were set as 25km and 30minutes, respectively. Then, the typhoon wind speed retrieval model based on LightGBM is established. We use the data of October 2020 to train the model and the data of November 2020 to test model performance. Comparing with the H*wind reanalysis wind field data, the bias and root-mean-square error of retrieved wind speed are 0.15m/s and 1.26m/s, respectively. In addition, the correlation coefficient is 0.90, indicating that the retrieved wind speed has a good consistency with H*wind data.

To meet the demand of the laser application market for semiconductor laser function diversification, this paper proposes a handheld multi-wavelength laser stack packaging module. The 808 nm, 915 nm, and 980 nm semiconductor laser bars are selected for the integrated assembly of the multi-wavelength module. However, with the continuous increase of the optical power density of the integrated packaging module, thermal management has become a key factor affecting the performance and life of the device. In this paper, the finite element analysis method is used to analyze the influence of the arrangement of three laser stripe chips in the stacked packaging structure on the heat dissipation of the multi-wavelength module. The simulation results show that the heat dissipation efficiency of the multi-wavelength module can be improved by 13.74 % by changing the arrangement of chips. A back heat dissipation packaging structure with higher heat dissipation efficiency is proposed, and the influence of chip arrangement and working mode on the thermal characteristics of the device in the new packaging structure is simulated and analyzed. According to the simulation results, a chip arrangement that can make the heat dissipation effect of the multi-wavelength module achieve the best is determined. © 2022 Institute of Physics Publishing. Service mobile robots are often required to avoid dynamic objects while performing their tasks, but they usually have only limited computational resources. So we present a lightweight multi-modal framework for 3D object detection and trajectory prediction. Our system synergistically integrates LiDAR and camera inputs to achieve real-time perception of pedestrians, vehicles, and riders in 3D space. The framework proposes two novel modules: 1) a Cross-Modal Deformable Transformer (CMDT) for object detection with high accuracy and acceptable amount of computation, and 2) a Reference Trajectory-based Multi-Class Transformer (RTMCT) for efficient and diverse trajectory prediction of mult-class objects with flexible trajectory lengths. Evaluations on the CODa benchmark demonstrate superior performance over existing methods across detection (+2.03% in mAP) and trajectory prediction (-0.408m in minADE5 of pedestrians) metrics. Remarkably, the system exhibits exceptional deployability - when implemented on a wheelchair robot with an entry-level NVIDIA 3060 GPU, it achieves realtime inference at 13.2 fps. Dual-Domain CLIP-Assisted Residual Optimization Perception Model for Metal Artifact Reduction

Metal artifacts in computed tomography (CT) imaging pose significant challenges to accurate clinical diagnosis. The presence of high-density metallic implants results in artifacts that deteriorate image quality, manifesting in the forms of streaking, blurring, or beam hardening effects, etc. Nowadays, various deep learning-based approaches, particularly generative models, have been proposed for metal artifact reduction (MAR). However, these methods have limited perception ability in the diverse morphologies of different metal implants with artifacts, which may generate spurious anatomical structures and exhibit inferior generalization capability. To address the issues, we leverage visual-language model (VLM) to identify these morphological features and introduce them into a dual-domain CLIP-assisted residual optimization perception model (DuDoCROP) for MAR. Specifically, a dual-domain CLIP (DuDoCLIP) is fine-tuned on the image domain and sinogram domain using contrastive learning to extract semantic descriptions from anatomical structures and metal artifacts. Subsequently, a diffusion model is guided by the embeddings of DuDoCLIP, thereby enabling the dual-domain prior generation. Additionally, we design prompt engineering for more precise image-text descriptions that can enhance the model’s perception capability. Then, a downstream task is devised for the one-step residual optimization and integration of dual-domain priors, while incorporating raw data fidelity. Ultimately, a new perceptual indicator is proposed to validate the model’s perception and generation performance. With the assistance of DuDoCLIP, our DuDoCROP exhibits at least 63.7% higher generalization capability compared to the baseline model. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the proposed method can generate more realistic image structures and outperform other SOTA approaches both qualitatively and quantitatively. In operation, the negative temperature coefficient (NTC) electrical resistivity characteristics of polymeric insulating materials causes DC electric field distortion within power equipment insulation and lead to the failure. The doping of positive temperature coefficient (PTC) ceramic particles can suppress the NTC characteristics of the composites, but the electrical properties under AC voltages are unrevealed. In this paper, epoxy composites (0–20 wt%) doped with polydopamine-coated PTC particles were prepared, whose AC breakdown strength and dielectric properties were tested. The results shows that the decrease of AC dielectric strength is smaller than that under DC voltages after the doping PTC particles, and the coating of polydopamine can enhance the AC dielectric strength. As the doping content increases, the dielectric constant and tanδ of the epoxy composites increases, and the maximum increase of dielectric loss power is about 2% of the loss power caused by the current-carrying conductor. The research provides a theoretical basis for the optimization of the insulating performance of the equipment under the AC-DC composite voltages. © Beijing Paike Culture Commu. Co., Ltd 2024.

In the evolving field of Continuous Variable Quantum key Distribution (CV-QKD), notable for its synergistic potential with existing optical communication infrastructures, a high channel capacity, and an anticipated surge in secret rates, the Measurement Device Independent (MDI) framework stands as a bulwark against side-channel vulnerabilities at the measurement juncture [1] -[4]. Recent years have witnessed quantum photonics technology leapfrogging into a realm that promises the realization of fully integrated CV-MDI-QKD transmitter terminals, a cornerstone for large-scale CV-MDI-QKD networks. However, integrating high-efficiency on-chip light sources while effectively navigating the treacherous waters of practical security challenges remains a formidable task [5], [6]. This study is pioneering in its focus on the practical security intricacies stemming from imperfections in on-chip light sources within CV-MDI-QKD systems. We propose defense mechanisms tailored to shield against the risks associated with source defects, thereby laying a robust foundation for secure, reliable on-chip CV-MDI-QKD transmission terminals. This advancement is a critical enabler for the widespread adoption of CV-MDI-QKD, signaling a paradigm shift in secure communications. © 2024 IEEE.
