LiDARs and cameras, commonly used sensors on autonomous vehicles and robots, require precise calibration for accurate joint environmental perception. Current calibration methods, capable of adjusting both intrinsic and extrinsic parameters, often depend on physical targets or human intervention, making them unsuitable for automatic online calibration. Moreover, these methods are primarily optimized for dense point clouds, as they are often tuned on open datasets featuring high-quality point cloud data. However, low-resolution LiDARs, preferred for their cost-effectiveness, are prevalent in practical applications. To automate the calibration process while maintaining high precision on sparse point clouds, multi-modal image registration techniques are leveraged to develop an end-to-end, cross-attention-based neural network for automatic calibration of low-resolution LiDARs and Cameras. Specifically, given an initial perturbation on point clouds, our network is capable of recovering the true extrinsic parameters without manual intervention. Additionally, specialized input preprocessing and training strategies are incorporated to enhance performance with sparse point clouds. Promising results are achieved on both open datasets and custom sensor acquisitions, highlighting the effectiveness and adaptability of our network to diverse scenarios.

Most current crowdsourced logistics aim to minimize systems cost and maximize delivery capacity,but the efforts of crowdsourcers such as drivers are almost *** the delivery process,drivers usually need to take long-distance detours in hitchhiking rides based package *** this paper,we propose an approach that integrates offline trajectory data mining and online route-and-schedule optimization in the hitchhiking ride scenario to find optimal delivery routes for packages and ***,we propose a two-phase framework for the delivery route planning and *** the first phase,the historical trajectory data are mined offline to build the package transport *** the second phase,we model the delivery route planning and package-taxi matching as an integer linear programming problem and solve it with the Gurobi *** that,taxis are scheduled to deliver packages with optimal delivery paths via a newly designed scheduling *** evaluate our approach with the realworld datasets;the results show that our proposed approach can complete citywide package deliveries with a high success rate and low extra efforts of taxi drivers.

To remove the limitation of the special technical threshold in simulating or designing the transducer, an underwater transducer simulation software (UTS) is developed. UTS utilizes the interactive operation and the parametric design to achieve the automatic solution of the transducer. The finite element technology is the essences of UTS. In this study, the ANSYS processes are encapsulated by the ANSYS Parametric Design Language (APDL) macro and the JAVA language to achieve the electroacoustic simulations of a Tonpilz transducer. The results indicate that UTS is qualified in the transducer simulations.

Due to the similarity in appearance and dense deployment of devices in industrial environments, relying solely on machine vision makes it challenging for inspection robots to accurately identify similar devices. Although wireless signals from industrial internet of things (IoT) can serve as identification features, signal fluctuations impact the accuracy and efficiency of recognition. To address this issue, this paper proposes a proximity estimation algorithm with position adjustment for autonomous industrial inspection. The algorithm considers the spatial relationships between nodes and the topological relationship between the signal strength and variations among the nodes. By analyzing the topological relationship between the signal strength and variations among the nodes, the robot autonomously adjusts its position and selects the proximal node based on the spatial topology relationship between them. We have built an inspection platform using quadruped robots to evaluate the effectiveness of the experiments. The experimental results demonstrate that the algorithm further improves the efficiency of identifying proximal devices while ensuring the estimation accuracy of the algorithm.

To satisfy the accurate positioning requirement of the calibration source in the Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory, a Tonpilz-type hydrophone with low radioactivity and high electroacoustics is *** radioactivity of the proposed hydrophone is strictly controlled by selecting pure raw materials, especially active piezoelectric ceramics. The electroacoustic performance of the hydrophone is improved by making structural optimization. High sensitivity and aimed directivity are achieved using 33-mode piezoelectric ceramic rings arranged in series and improvement in the radiating head of the Tonpilz hydrophone, respectively. All electroacoustic performances are studied through finite element *** simulations indicate that the electroacoustic performances of the hydrophones in linear alkylbenzene-based liquid scintillator can be approximately predicted according to the results in water because their differences caused by two types of acoustic media, water and liquid scintillator, are known. The tests show that the hydrophone prototype can achieve a maximum sensitivity of-209.3dB and a beamwidth of 132.2° at a frequency of 143 *** addition, eight hydrophones only contributed to a background radioactivity level of 26 ± 4 mHz in the neutrino analysis.

This paper examines the cluster consensus problem of higher-order interaction networks on switching networks. The matrix-valued inter-agent coupling mechanism is employed to capture the higher-order interactions amongst neighboring agents. Specifically, for a higher-order interaction network with both positive definite and positive semi-definite coupling matrices, we examine the scenario in which the nullspace of positive semi-definite coupling matrices is constructed by a set of orthogonal basis vectors. From the perspective of the lower-order component graph -the projection of network structure onto the direction of each orthogonal basis–results on the explicit characterization of cluster consensus of higher-order interaction networks are provided. Moreover, for time-varying higher-order interaction networks, necessary and sufficient conditions are provided to ensure that a time-varying network shares the same steady-state values as the integral time-invariant network. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the theory.

Lithography-free patterning of chalcogenide materials for integrated photonic devices

Chalcogenide material-based integrated photonic devices have garnered widespread attention due to their unique wideband transparency. Despite their recognized CMOS compatibility, the fabrication of these devices relies predominantly on lithography techniques. However, chalcogenide thin films are highly susceptible to oxidation, necessitating customized process flows and complex protective measures during lithography. These requirements are hardly compatible with current commercial CMOS manufacturing platforms designed for silicon photonics, significantly limiting the practical applications of chalcogenide photonic devices. In this work, we ingeniously exploit the ease of oxidation of chalcogenide materials, presenting a novel laser-induced localized oxidation technique for spatial patterning on chalcogenide thin films, enabling concise lithography-free fabrication of chalcogenide integrated photonic devices. Using Sb2S3 as an example, we experimentally demonstrate localized multilevel oxidation with a sizable overall refractive index contrast of 0.7 at near-infrared, featuring a high spatial resolution of 0.6 μm. Based on this technique, multiple integrated photonic devices are demonstrated, showing versatile functionalities, including color printing at visible and metasurface-based spatial light modulation at near-infrared regions. Leveraging the inherent phase-change property of Sb2S3, an active Fresnel zone plate, enabling switchable beam focusing, is further demonstrated, indicating the feasibility of concise fabrication of active photonic devices. Our work offers a brand-new modulation dimension for chalcogenide materials and provides a significantly simplified approach for realizing chalcogenide-integrated photonic devices. In recent years, reinforcement learning techniques have gained widespread application in control synthesis. However, in the context of safety-critical systems, employing trial-and-error based reinforcement learning may be unacceptable due to the potential risks it poses during the learning process. Consequently, the development of safe reinforcement learning techniques has become imperative. This paper addresses the challenge of safe reinforcement learning for controller synthesis, particularly when safety specifications are intricately linked to the real-time behavior of the system. To articulate time-sensitive requirements, we leverage Metric Interval Temporal Logic (MITL). To ensure safety throughout the learning process, we introduce an additional reactive controller called a shield. Specifically, the shield functions to reject any behavior that violates the real-time specifications, thus mitigating potential risks. The efficacy of our proposed approach is demonstrated through simulation results, highlighting its ability to satisfy safety constraints in the dynamic environment of controller synthesis.

Discoloration defect detection is a significant task in the wood industry for ensuring the appearance and quality of wooden products. However, discoloration defect detection still faces some challenges due to the low contrast, blurred boundary, and slender shape of discoloration defects. To overcome these challenges, we propose a multi-branch feature encoding HRNet(MFE-HRNet) for wood surface discoloration defect detection. The network maintains high-resolution features and builds a parallel multi-resolution architecture to prevent the dilution of low-contrast discoloration defect features. Through repeated cross-fusion of multi-scale features, the network enhances the global representation of blurry features. In order to effectively preserve the detail features of the defect edge, a multi-branch feature encoding module (MFEM) is proposed as the encoding layer of the network. In the MFEM, multiple branches concurrently extract features, generating feature maps with complementary characteristics, thereby enhancing the ability of network to recognize fine details of defects. Experimental results verify the effectiveness of our method in detecting discoloration defects on wood surface.
