Dynamic View Synthesis from Small Camera Motion Videos

Novel view synthesis for dynamic 3D scenes poses a significant challenge. Many notable efforts use NeRF-based approaches to address this task and yield impressive results. However, these methods rely heavily on sufficient motion parallax in the input images or videos. When the camera motion range becomes limited or even stationary (i.e., small camera motion), existing methods encounter two primary challenges: incorrect representation of scene geometry and inaccurate estimation of camera parameters. These challenges make prior methods struggle to produce satisfactory results or even become invalid. To address the first challenge, we propose a novel Distribution-based Depth Regularization (DDR) that ensures the rendering weight distribution to align with the true distribution. Specifically, unlike previous methods that use depth loss to calculate the error of the expectation, we calculate the expectation of the error by using Gumbel-softmax to differentiably sample points from discrete rendering weight distribution. Additionally, we introduce constraints that enforce the volume density of spatial points before the object boundary along the ray to be near zero, ensuring that our model learns the correct geometry of the scene. To demystify the DDR, we further propose a visualization tool that enables observing the scene geometry representation at the rendering weight level. For the second challenge, we incorporate camera parameter learning during training to enhance the robustness of our model to camera parameters. We conduct extensive experiments to demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in representing scenes with small camera motion input, and our results compare favorably to state-of-the-art methods. © 1995-2012 IEEE.

Unleashing Correlation and Continuity for Hyperspectral Reconstruction from RGB images

Reconstructing Hyperspectral images (HSI) from RGB images can yield high spatial resolution HSI at a lower cost, demonstrating significant application potential. This paper reveals that local correlation and global continuity of the spectral characteristics are crucial for HSI reconstruction tasks. Therefore, we fully explore these inter-spectral relationships and propose a Correlation and Continuity Network (CCNet) for HSI reconstruction from RGB images. For the correlation of local spectrum, we introduce the Group-wise Spectral Correlation Modeling (GrSCM) module, which efficiently establishes spectral band similarity within a localized range. For the continuity of global spectrum, we design the Neighborhood-wise Spectral Continuity Modeling (NeSCM) module, which employs memory units to recursively model the progressive variation characteristics at the global level. In order to explore the inherent complementarity of these two modules, we design the Patch-wise Adaptive Fusion (PAF) module to efficiently integrate global continuity features into the spectral features in a patch-wise adaptive manner. These innovations enhance the quality of reconstructed HSI. We perform comprehensive comparison and ablation experiments on the mainstream datasets NTIRE2022 and NTIRE2020 for the spectral reconstruction task. Adaptive Homophily Clustering: Structure Homophily Graph Learning with Adaptive Filter for Hyperspectral image

Hyperspectral image (HSI) clustering has been a fundamental but challenging task with zero training labels. Currently, some deep graph clustering methods have been successfully explored for HSI due to their outstanding performance in effective spatial structural information encoding. Nevertheless, insufficient structural information utilization, poor feature presentation ability, and weak graph update capability limit their performance. Thus, in this paper, a homophily structure graph learning with an adaptive filter clustering method (AHSGC) for HSI is proposed. Specifically, homogeneous region generation is first developed for HSI processing and constructing the original graph. Afterward, an adaptive filter graph encoder is designed to adaptively capture the high and low frequency features on the graph for subsequence processing. Then, a graph embedding clustering self-training decoder is developed with KL Divergence, with which the pseudo-label is generated for network training. Meanwhile, homophily-enhanced structure learning is introduced to update the graph according to the clustering task, in which the orient correlation estimation is adopted to estimate the node connection, and graph edge sparsification is designed to adjust the edges in the graph dynamically. Finally, a joint network optimization is introduced to achieve network self-training and update the graph. The K-means is adopted to express the latent features. Extensive experiments and repeated comparative analysis have verified that our AHSGC contains high clustering accuracy, low computational complexity, and strong robustness. Two-dimensional (2-D) array sets with good 2-D correlation properties have received considerable attention in wireless communication systems. This paper focuses on 2-D Z-complementary array code sets (ZCACSs), which have ideal 2-D correlation properties within a rectangular zone around the origin. By developing a theory linking 2-D extended Boolean functions with 2-D arrays, we establish an efficient construction of 2-D ZCACSs. In contrast to previous work, the proposed construction is capable of producing 2-D ZCACSs with new flexible parameters. Constructions of three-dimensional (3-D) and higher-dimensional ZCACSs are further investigated. We remark that 2-D and higher-dimensional complete complementary codes (CCCs) can also be generated from the proposed constructions. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Intracortical brain-machine interfaces (iBMIs) aim to establish a communication path between the brain and external devices. However, in the daily use of iBMIs, the non-stationarity of recorded neural signals necessitates frequent recalibration of the iBMI decoder to maintain decoding performance, which requires collecting and labeling a large amount of new data. To address this challenge and minimize the time needed for decoder recalibration, we proposed an active learning domain adversarial neural network (AL-DANN). This model leveraged a substantial volume of historical data alongside a small amount of current data (four samples per category) to calibrate the decoder. By incorporating domain adversarial and active learning strategies, the model effectively transferred knowledge from historical data to new data, reducing the demand for new samples. We validated the proposed method using neural signals recorded from three monkeys performing different movements in a classification task or a regression task. The results showed that the AL-DANN outperformed existing state-of-the-art methods. Impressively, it required only four new samples per category for decoder recalibration, leading to a recalibration time reduction of over 80 %. To our knowledge, this is the first study to incorporate deep transfer learning into iBMI decoder calibration, highlighting the significant potential of applying deep learning technologies in iBMIs. © 2025

Evolutionary dynamics of behavioral motivations for cooperation

Human decision-making is shaped by underlying motivations, which reflect both subjective well-being and fundamental biological needs. Different needs are often prioritized and traded off against one another. Here we develop a theoretical framework to study the evolution of behavioral motivations, encompassing both philanthropic (cooperating after personal needs are met) and aspirational (cooperating to fulfill personal needs) motivations. Our findings show that when the ratio of benefits to costs for cooperation exceeds a critical threshold, individuals initially driven by aspirational motivations can transition to philanthropic motivations with a low reference point for cooperation, resulting in increased cooperation. Furthermore, the critical threshold depends on the structure of the underlying social network, with network modifications capable of reversing the evolutionary trajectory of motivations. Our results reveal the complex interplay between needs, motivations, social networks, and decision-making, offering insights into how evolution shapes not only cooperative behaviors but also the motivations behind them. © The Author(s) 2025.

In this paper, the DVRT(vector radiative transfer theory of densely distributed random discrete scatters) model to calculate the brightness temperature emitted by radiometer calibration load is presented. It takes the multiple scattering of isolation layer into account, which is neglected by the incoherent homogeneous model often used in calibration. Hence, it works much better than incoherent homogeneous model at millimeter wave band. Furthermore, the iteration of DVRT model is presented, and it proves that the incoherent homogeneous model is just the zero-order solution of DVRT model. Some numerical results are provided in the end.

Most existing flocking algorithms assume one single virtual leader and rely on information on both relative positions and relative velocities among neighboring *** this paper,the problem of controlling a flock of mobile autonomous agents to follow multiple virtual leaders is investigated by using only position information in the sense that agents with the same virtual leader asymptotically attain the same velocity and track the corresponding virtual leader based on only position measurements.A flocking algorithm is proposed under which every agent asymptotically attains its desired velocity,collision between agents can be avoided,and the final tight formation minimizes all agents' global potentials.A simulation example is presented to verify and illustrate the theoretical results.

Sequences with low/zero ambiguity zone (LAZ/ZAZ) properties are useful in modern communication and radar systems operating over mobile environments. This paper first presents a new family of ZAZ sequence sets motivated by the "modulating" zero correlation zone (ZCZ) sequences which were first proposed by Popovic and Mauritz. We then introduce a second family of ZAZ sequence sets with comb-like spectrum, whereby the local Doppler resilience is guaranteed by their inherent spectral nulls in the frequency domain. Finally, LAZ sequence sets are obtained by exploiting their connection with a novel class of mapping functions. These proposed unimodular ZAZ and LAZ sequence sets are cyclically distinct and asymptotically optimal with respect to the existing theoretical bounds on ambiguity functions. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Switching mechanism for TiO_2 memristor and quantitative analysis of exponential model parameters

The memristor, as the fourth basic circuit element, has drawn worldwide attention since its physical implementation was released by HP Labs in 2008. However, at the nano-scale, there are many difficulties for memristor physical realization. So a better understanding and analysis of a good model will help us to study the characteristics of a memristor. In this paper, we analyze a possible mechanism for the switching behavior of a memristor with a Pt/TiO2/Pt structure, and explain the changes of electronic barrier at the interface of Pt/TiO2. Then, a quantitative analysis about each parameter in the exponential model of memristor is conducted based on the calculation results. The analysis results are validated by simulation results. The efforts made in this paper will provide researchers with theoretical guidance on choosing appropriate values for(α, β, χ, γ) in this exponential model.
